Big congratulations, I remember hopping into this stream live but couldn't finish watching it unfortunately... Either way, quick question.. How do you feel about running this on PS5? Why you running on PS4? Your time might have been even quicker :O I'm guessing you have a PS5? Would like to hear some insight and reasoning on this.
I don't have a PS5 currently since I didn't pre-order one and they have been very difficult to obtain for a reasonable price. I was originally going to invest in a PS5 for runs, but with the PC ports of the KH games coming out soon I'm not likely to do so. If the PC ports end up being problematic for speedrunning or just general play, then I'll try to get a PS5 asap. I'm hoping that the PC version will be the definitive version for casual play and speedrunning though.
I found out that the answer to "does damage storage affect Gravity magic" is (unfortunately) yes. Basically, if Gravity will deal more damage than a finisher based off of the target's current HP, then it will do so. But as the enemy's HP decreases, Gravity magic deals less damage. What damage storage does is prevent Gravity magic damage from dropping below a certain number - that number is the damage of your finisher. So, against Ansem 3, Gravity magic would never deal less than 18 HP damage as long as damage storage was active. Graviga spam probably isn't the wave for Ansem 3, though, because Gravity magic costs 1 MP to use, which is more MP-inefficient than Fire magic. Moreover, you can rack up a lot of Firaga casts very quickly, while Gravity magic is very slow to utilize. If it turns out that 1 Graviga is able to nuke an entire HP bar at the start of the fight or something like that, it'll be worth it to use, but barring that, I can't see Graviga used against Ansem 3.
@@danielesquivel9326 Well I could Nuke Ansem 3 for 1 and a half bar with Graviga (from full hp) back in KH1 on the PS2, but that was with max magic and a magic focused Keyblade on Beginner Mode, which would likely mean I hit the damage cap somewhere. However, getting the magic to get that off at the beginning wouldn't be viable in a speedrun I don't think.
@@Lunaraia Can you clarify what you mean by "max magic"? Like, do you know if you had 13 MP, for example? Who knows, at 10 MP, we might able to get close to what you described, even on Final Mix.
@@danielesquivel9326 Staff start, (3 MP) Ultima Weapon (+2MP) Oathkeeper or Lady Luck can replace this Atlas Armlets (x3) (+6MP) Total MP max 18. Note; Farming the items needed for three Atlas Armlets takes forever and then going back to traverse town to synthesize the damn things will cost far too much time. You might be able to find other +2 MP accessories, but I am uncertain if you can find a viable replacement in a way that wouldn't be too slow. 15 might be doable, needing only 3 +1 accessories but even then, that requires a rather high level.

awesome ^.^
so, is it faster to Damage storage or Graviga spam Ansem 3 down? Also, would damage storage affect Graviga?
