On why does Clara continue being a prostitute tho turning into a vampire, it's all she's ever known. Plus she became a vampire in the Regency era, as an uneducated disadvantaged female in a male patriarchy then, not like she had much opportunities or the know how to become powerful and rich. Invest in the stock market?
Plus she and Eleanor are illegal vampires and she has to go under the radar to avoid being killed by the male vampire brethren.
Same goes for Eleanor, she might be more educated than Clara but again, as a 'teenager' with no proper educational certs, who's going to hire her in the modern age?
The movie really isn't about vampires but a mom learning to let go of her overprotective instincts and realising she has to let her daughter go and be her own...vampire and make the same mistakes 🤨

She was done hiding. Kinda like that Canadian guy, Albert Walker, who gave up when he ran out of places to hide. After 200 years of vampire drama and pain, she just wanted everyone to know her story. Sometimes, spilling the beans feels better than playing hide and seek.

I think it's like a metaphor. By going in and becoming a vampire, they are killing their human self to allow the change into a vampire to happen. So they physically see their human self die to the vampirism that will take over them. If that makes sense.

Vampires burning in the sun was a concept developed in the Nosferatu film. Considering how that film was a literal Dracula ripoff and how the concept of Vampires burning in the sun has become almost universally accepted, I personally find myself quite frustrated by it.
