Thank you, AJ Reissig. Very interesting. I used XFCE for many years and loved it deeply. But since then I have been into Pop!_OS and now with pop-shell and GNOME I think I'll stay here.
You could use xcape to have pressing and releasing the Super key launch the Whisker menu (or have it do anything else). That way, you will be able to continue using other Super+keyboard combinations.
No. I'm pretty anxious to get back to Gnome. But while I'm on XFCE with MX Linux, I wanted to try and make it as usable as possible. For me, that means keeping my hands off the mouse as much as possible. I would much prefer to have the Gnome keyboard bindings and the same desktop behavior as Gnome.
I can duplicate a lot of them, but some can't be done because of conflicts. I'm used to hitting the super key to open the overview and do a keyboard search for an app (I really don't scroll through the app launchers on the overview). In xfce, I have to use the super key as a modifier, or to launch the menu...you can't have it both ways. I'm used to checking notifications and weather and my calendar with super + M. Can't do that here. So lots of things I'm missing.

Thanks for sharing. I rarely use shortcut key except to open the start menu. Still interesting to me to learn about them though.

Thanks for another interesting and useful video. So...you decided to stop defend the Gnome 3 workflow?

@@AJReissig Isn't it easy to make a backup of those XFCE4 keybindings and almost copy-paste the ones you use with Gnome 3?

@@AJReissig Yes, you explained in the video how you remapped the Super key ( to launch the Whisker menu ) to the menu key. Thanks.
In mx23 this works with the superkey too.
Have you looked at MX Fluxbox?
It is installed on my system (it was included in the MX iso), but I haven't taken a look at it.
@@AJReissig The reason why I mention Fluxbox is that it does have tiling built in it that you might want to "tinker with".
