Fortunately, technology has advanced far beyond the printing press, and 5 billion people on this planet have internet access. But when governments start banning access to websites they disagree with (like Australia tried years ago), that's when concern should turn to fear.
Book banning is more of a symbol of authoritarian censorship at this stage, and really is just a waste of everyone's time and resources (as long as those words can be accessed easily on the internet, which is currently the case with most literature).
However, no books should ever be banned, regardless whether or not you agree or disagree with the words written inside.

Guess nobody ever read the last book of the Holy Bible. The Book of Revelation. Everything that is happening now, was already seen and recorded by John on the Isle of Patmos 2,000 years ago. The next 7 years are going to be very nasty for the Planet Earth and the human race. The Chosen will be removed from this torment, thankfully. Jesus and His Heavenly Army will come for the Final Battle of Armageddon to defeat Satan and his demonic army. Then the Holy City will descend from orbit to become the new home for Christians (believers in Jesus Christ) and His Kingdom which will last forever. Of course, before this happens, the Old Earth will have been destroyed during the Holy War, but a new Earth and a new Heaven will be created by God for His children to live in forever in peace and harmony under the iron rule of God.

These problems with them is wanting to think that kids need to read the Bible even schools but honestly while they may have children's bibles they want these kids to read the real Bible. Like um maybe not so much cuz if a religious person can admit they would give someone a kids Bible for those who they think doesn't understand the Bible then why keep the Bible in schools where they wouldn't understand it. Because last I check teachers can't go reading the Bible in regular schools because you Sunday schools for that. It be pointless to have it if you're elementary students aren't going to understand it. Might be better to just leave that out of elementary schools. The definition of Malicious Compliance
Not malicious at all.
Only conservatives are malicious here.
@@Benjamin-mh8ei "malicious compliance" means to follow instructions to the letter even if following those instructions causes harm or goes against the spirit of the instructions, and that's exactly what this is.
@@monkeytube138well they shouldn’t of started a fascist law then, banning books or burning books are both fascist behaviour wether it’s a religion book or not.
Sometimes I am totally confused by these kinds of people. Did they grow up in the same United State of America that I did? Didn't they get any education about authoritarianism and censorship? They are so focused on this nonsense from the GOP.
They were homeschooled or parochial schooled.
That so called Grand Old Party isn't so Grand anymore, so please replace the G with a character that makes more sense like S for Stupid (unless you prefer to skip it completely).
@@apveening "Grand"? I thought "GOP" stood for "Greedy Old People", no?
@@abananabag Thanks for correcting me.
@@abananabagwith their track record, are you sure it’s not Grifting, Old, Perverts?
This blasphemy will have such terrible consequences. They are liars.
This is exactly why I'm against banning books.
This has been an ongoing goal of the Republican Party…. An educated person is less likely to accept a low wage labor job, and this effects their corporate profits and in turn their corporate donations!
Their goal is to keep people ignorant, poor, and God-fearing because those people are the easiest to manipulate, oppress, and take advantage of politically, socially, and economically.
Yup, go on about how “government is the problem” then set about gumming up the works so they can say “see, it doesn’t work”
"effects"? Do you mean "affects"?
@@DavidSchneiderIP Affect, when used as a verb, means "to act on or change someone or something."
Affect also has a sense meaning “to put on a false appearance of (something).”
Effect, which is a noun, means "a result or consequence."
Effect can also be used as a verb, meaning "to bring about or make happen." So No I didn’t… I am an english teacher…
youre joking right the democratic party is pushing not to teach math because its racist
I guess it makes it harder to count the miles and miles of homeless tent cities you have
It's a very violent and graphic novel and if they wanted to ban books that teach violence and show inappropriate actions towards others well....The Bible does have IT all in it.
The naughty bits are very entertaining.
Amen
LoL YOU NAILED IT👏👏👏🇺🇸
And it's badly written. So much repetition and boring details no-one cares about.
Are they also banning Joseph Smith's book?
0:24 *lady's sign* What's the difference? The Bible has that as well.
Not one of these people protesting the bible's banning has ever read the bloody book.
I mean there are so many versions of it. Not just translation differences but content. Recently learned slaves in the US were given stripped versions of the bible so they don't get too inspired and uprise.
They have had select parts read to them regularly and they have been told since childhood that it is the source of all morality and proof of the love of god. So...
What about the people wanting to remove the Bible? I bet they haven't read it either.
@@johannkarsten Some don't want to remove it, they want to highlight the hypocrisy.
As an atheist, I have read the Bible and the Quran, bits of the Vedas, some Book of Mormon, some Tripitaka, Some L Ron Hubbard. and smatterings of quite a few other religious texts. The one thing I find they all have in common is they are clearly written by people.
@@jiubboatman9352😂😂😂
Excellent! How do you like your book bans now!?!?
they don't care, man
they know full well that they want special treatment, and harsh treatment for the people they hate. that's the basis of conservatism.
@@tomspettigue8791 yup, nothing but haters.. required by the "christian" nationals and the evangelical base as well. Choose light and life and always vote blue
this is sickening
How about banning the book of dianetics instead
is that in schools? cause yes, we ought to keep that one out of public schools also, just like the bible and tje kuran.
Payback's a "Motha" …
They should have seen this coming. A very wise man once said something along the lines of "The same judgment that you use shall be used against you, and the same measure that you mete out shall be be measured to you."
But you can't teach that in schools in Utah, because of laws...
@@steakknivessomeone missed the point.
Citation needed, oh, sorry you can't, would that be illegal?
@steakknives the joke flew over your head
Conservatives do not believe in any form of equality
Books should have age requirements I mean movies have rating of G, PG, PG-13, R, M, etc. apply those rating to books for example the Berenstein Bears will be rated G for general audience while Fifty shades of grey be rated M for mature.
The Gospel will still be preached with or without man. Evil will lose God will win.
Priorities are so wrong its hard to fathom. Instead of banning books how about banning guns, you know safe some lives.
Exactly
I (think) I fully agree with you, but words matter: You probably meant to write "save" instead of "safe," as it changes the whole meaning! 😬🤫
Hey, books can be dangerous, specially thick ones like the Bible? Have you ever got hit by one in the head? Who knows how many people die every year due to book violence!
/sarcasm (in case it wasn't obvious enough...)
They came for the Muslims I said nothing. ( I am a Christian)
They came for the Jews I said nothing (I am a Christian 🙏🙏)
They came for the Indians I said nothing ( I'm not Indian,)
They came for the blacks I said nothing,( I'm not black))
They came for the whites I said nothing ( I'm not white)

Then they can for the Christians and there were no one left to SAY ANYTHING 😢.
Oh Well!!
Why is this guy so happy about this? He sounds and appears filled with glee at this prospect.
As an agnostic man, this story puts a smile on my face that spans ear to ear.

Book banning is so stupid in the internet / social media day and age. Can get everything online anyways
I’m a Christian (LDS) who HAS read the Bible cover to cover several times. I’ve also taken Bible as lit/historical document & wrote a major paper in Grad school on the History of the Bible as a document.
I think I’m informed enough to say the full texted Bible in any translation is ABSOLUTELY not something for children.
I also believe that religious texts should not be in public schools. These libraries have limited space and should carry informational books on faiths, but things like the Bible or Koran should be at public libraries or homes.
I applaud this decision to remove it from lower grade libraries and place it in the appropriate place.
Separation of church and state should make zero religious texts in schools at all tbh
@@WolfgangDoWwe also want separation of LGTQ..... and state .
We dont want any thing in gov. Should be neutral . Not happening , double standards . Open ur eyes.
I am also a Christian who has read the entire Bible cover to cover and I have also studied the Bible and I realize that everyone in this world needs Lord Jesus Christ/God in their life especially in elementary public schools because most parents don’t teach their children about discipline or good behavior they just throw them in school and expect the teachers to raise their children instead of their own parents which is so wrong. And the teachers are teaching kids about lgbt at public schools which is 100% against God and don’t tell me that God is not against LGBT because you said in your comment that you read the Bible cover to cover. As a spiritual Christian I disapprove that they should remove the Holy Bible from lower grade elementary public schools. Here’s 2 Bible verses for you understand. But Jesus called them to him saying, let the children come to me and do not hinder them for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Luke 18:16
All your children shall be taught to BY the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. Isaiah 54:13 holy bible.
My great grandma told us in the 1950's "All children of their lesser God "Black Yakub" are highly jealous of our father God. "
