This song brings back so many memories. My husband is white. I am black. We married in December 2002. We were so broke that we didn't even have a radio in his jeep and we had to bring along a battery powered cd player/radio with us on our honeymoon to Gatlinburg. He brought a stack of CDs and I was shocked when he pulled out Jeffry Osborne. I said "what do you know about Jeffrey Osborne?" He said "i know enough". We listened to JO and a lot of other quality music during our ride too and from Gatlinburg. We had a great time. This song reminds me of how young and naive we were. 🤗 No matter what life has threw at us, he reminded me that that "you should be mine!" We are no longer young nor broke. We'll be married 18 years in December.

I sang with Mr. Osbourne back in 1989 at Carnegie Hall. We rehearsed in Leonard Bernstein’s apartment at the Dakota in New York City. I was backing up Patti Austin as well so she was there sitting next to me singing at this rehearsal. I was about 28 years old. Outside I was confident, calm, & professional but inside I was like, “I can wait to call my mom and tell her.” It was a great experience. 😎
