Great explanation! Took me 2 days to learn this on my own then I found this video which explains it very clear in under 10 minutes

I am apart of the mets. And it's true, our neurotransmitters remain in the synapse for longer period of time. Which can be a bad thing (stress, adrenaline), but it could also be an amazing thing (constantly feeling happy with high levels of serotonin and dopamine constantly). So we a life of the extremes

Hi, love your videos, you are really saving me before the exams. Just a small note from a biological perspective - Met homozygotes actually have higher expression of COMT protein. Because of change in one amino acid (valine to methionine) it is much less functional and thus the organism tries to account for this by overexpressing it. But still even though the fact that Mets have more of the protein, its lesser functionality overpowers this and the result is that the overall effectiveness in Mets is lower

So would an SNRI be counterproductive for a COMT met met?

I've read that ashwagandha brings down cortisol levels. Is that true?

I am comt+ I have a BSBA in Psych (2009) I am interested in this topic post my genetic results filtered through a genetic website that showed I am double comt. The men in my family have a tendency to end up in either sports, leader rolls or prison. They say wome. Are not effected the same in women but I believe I show more of the male results than female. This effects me differently because I also have HIGM for G & A and stress takes its toll on my system differently. I have a severe Uritaric reaction to cortisol. Thank you for these. I am not your student but I appreciate the access.
