Can't you just set it up so the bridge is flat to the body? That's how I set mine up. Can only use the trem to go down when it's set that way. Kind of best of both worlds, get more tuning stability and sustain but can still use the tremolo
@@imCurveee i hate this answer more than anything. No. Thats currently what I’m doing too. But id sell my american standard in a second for a hardtail.
@@imCurveee i don’t even have the bar installed, and its not fixed enough. 5 springs cranked all the way down still isnt making me happy. I want wood there
Something about the hardtail specifically is more piano like, there is just a better tension between the strings and the body. Hard to find a good one, most are the 70s ones that weigh 11 pounds. I want a nice 6.5lb hardtail and the only maker I've found so far that does that is Bluesman guitars. Which are actually really really good.
@@ryanfulldark2775 I couldn’t agree more! More wood, plus mulch better (and much more!) contact between the bridge and the wood can only add sustain…but I think it gets even *MORE* sustain from the string-thru body setup.
Those marks on the back are most likely from a curly cord that was left in the case. The materials used in those old cables reacted with the nitro finish.
Rosewood necks are the only game in town. Those marks on the back are likely from the era of coiled cords. A '59, 60, 61, or 62 would be a vintage guitar I would be interested in. It'll never happen but I am old enough to remember when these guitars were only 12-14 years old. They were around.
I agree, as much as I like the look of the maple finger board after all my years and years listening there is no doubt that a rosewood finger board is the smoothest and best sounding neck for any guitar. Hell I even changed my daughters early squire tele with a maple finger board to a cut down custom rosewood strat 22 fret neck to a 21 fret squared neck pocket to replace the original neck. And for all you haters out there, I've had them all (baja, mex, American standard, +) but my affinity squire I bought as a beginner for my daughter is amazing, obviously I've upgraded pups and tuners along with electronics pkg. and brass 3 way string thru bridge. Even my pro gig band buds love it. I've put it in my gig rotation for 20 years and has held up better than pro models. Even before I upgraded it the rig had a sweet sound awesome tone. Not every guitar plays or sounds the same. Get 6 guitars all the same to to bottom at your local shop and play them, they'll be close but I guarantee you everyone will have there own issues. 95% it's the operator not the gear. I wear my misfit trademarks with pride. Everyone can just go get one but mines a one off , original , a #1....
i have a mij, candy apple red, rosewood board, hardtail strat that i bought in 1988...e series serial no., sleek and beautiful. seems to be a copy of of this 1960 version. it's a joy to look at and play, love the rosewood...
Heard a video of you playing about a month ago and I really liked what you played. I really liked what you play on this video too. Understated, not über flashy, but right on the money. Anyway - cheers!
What is this rigf you're playing. Been going through a few I missed, love your unique style. The riff you start playing on the neck pickup. What is it? It's been stuck in my head for days and I need to get it out!
That honestly sounds magical. Hearing this got me a bit contrite. That reverb on the second song almost makes it sound like you have angels accompanying you. What is that second song??? I must learn it.
I just love Lemmos unique style. His guitar demos are the only ones that don't bore me to hell.
If only he’d use less fuckin reverb

Michael Lemmo’s guitar playing brings me so much joy. Clean, spontaneous and melodic. Wonderful musician!

I've said it before, but I wish Fender would offer hardtail strats more often. Love the look and sound!
Its bs they don’t have a standard hardtail in every price range
Look on reverb, there are plenty to buy.

I've always wanted a vintage strat. One with a hardtail specifically
Grab a late 70s before they skyrocket! The hardtail models are lighter and sound great. Powerful.
@@ryanfulldark2775 thanks for the recommendation my dude. I'll check reverb sometime soon
For all major purchases there's Master Card!

Such a sound. Other worldly. Nice lemmo.
Lemmo’s giving the stink eye to the cat in the background playing over his gotd!
Then settles the score with some voodoo!

😂😂😂 Ireland
Can't go wrong with a good Strat. Nothing in the world like it.
Killer guitar!! Outstanding demo Michael!!! Just wow

Jen’s correct, “that was awesome”. Well done, sir!
You teared Voodoo Child up! My favorite Hendrix song
Outstanding. Such clarity when using distorted chords
Might be the best sounding strat I’ve heard personally
Hardtails man, I’m a believer! More wood in the heart of the body creates more sustain

Very rich tone, and the perfect look for a vintage strat!
That 5:55 middle pickup is exactly what a strat sounds like in my head
Dream guitar!!! A Stratocaster does not get better than this for me.
I love it when Lemmo does the jimistyle.

Eric Clapton always plays a maple neck.

Killer strat as well...thanks Jen !
What an absolute beauty!!!!
Awesome tone! I bet the phones were ringing after 5 seconds of hearing the tone of that 60 strat!!!! Rock on 🤘
Whatever that reverb is it is absolutely sublime
8:38 - reaches for the dive-bomb then remembers there's no trem :) Awesome playing.
Wow! Nicely played Lemmo!
That middle pickup is so warm.
Holy moly ! I can’t play a lick of anything , but watching this just makes we want t9 own that beast and learn ! Wow
Wow! Awesome voodoo Chile rendition! You are on another level!!!
Great guitar played fabulously by virtuoso Lemmo.
Fantastic demo. What a beauty!!!

the sweat on the fingerboard up on the 16th and 17th fret!

I love that mint guard.
Yeah, that's a beauty!
Sweet tones
The marks on the back are from a coiled cord.
What a Great Guitar!!!
You had me at Hardtail!
Duuuuude....you can play!!!!
That strat is badass! Nice playing ✌
Yes Lemmo is rocking that Hardtail! “This guitar is absolutely ridiculous, just ridiculous”!
this one's really got it. hope it gets into the the hands of a player
Welcome back Lemmo 👍. See you didn't loose your chops 👍 nice guitar great sounds
Lemmo and reverb, like peas in a pod..nice
Wow that sounds amazing!
Amazing Lemmmmmmooooooo!
Awesome Mike
I want one of these!
Looks similar to my 1989 MIJ ST62, only mine lacks the hardtail. Your tone though is just on another level
Wish they made more hardtails with the stringthrough now.
beautiful lemmo
Everytime he has a damn 60’s strat I’m memorized
1st song banger!!!!
great guitar, well played 🙌🏻
Sweet !!!
had a '75 mn sb ht in '76.
Nice but slippery at jams.
Like to wish if it was a Strat like this i might still have it :)
dream on ;(
Hard tails are the shit
Groovy Green Guard! 🎃👍

Please please tell
Awesome 👍🏻
By the way, at someone else's suggestion here, I just saw Jen on her Instagram. Hubba hubba!
Nice! What's the second song? I know it but can't place it.
I was hoping for a taste of "La Grange", supposedly played on a hard-tail Strat.
Dude ! Enough said.
When are we gonna be able to see the “QUEEN behind the camera?

what song was the first he played in the video?
Up💪
beautiful as always, damn.
I wish fender had more hard tail options today.
A vintage strat in the hands of Michael Lemmo is like giving a Stradivarius violin to Mozart!
Mozart never played Strads.:)
Forewarning by Michael Harris on youtube Enjoy
Great playing, sweet guitar.
Let’s go Brandon!! 😂🤘🤘
Okay. It’s been years. I’ve waited patiently. I’ve tried Shazam. I’ve tried that new Google thing. Can you please get me the name of the second song?
My technique has improved threefold since Lemmo took over GOTD.
(:
Oh
It laid on a coil cord.
Simply awesome stuff from the Wizard.
Hi Jen..😘
Best wishes and blessings from the Kruger Park in South Africa.👍👍
Hard to tell Stratocaster😉
💯
Anyone know the song at 6:48?
If there’s ever a holy grail, this is it
It's like SRV guitar with 59 and 60s parts.
Lemmo tearin' it up and throwin' it down!
🐉💀👽🎸🎼🎵🎶🧠🌌♾
With that guitar you should be playing some Stevie Ray Vaughn or Jimi Hendrix
They don't play hardtails, Robert Cray does.
Ah, he is.
no truss rod? no adjusting possibility?
I think you have to take the neck off and the adjustment is on the end of the neck
@@brown22sugar25 it would be very time consuming ,and totaly unlogical way of adjustment. ;)
