I love your reviews brother. I got a vector as my first fountain pen about a couple of months ago and I'm really loving it. Keep up the good work and give us those vids more often :)
The metal body of the fake Parker Vector is quite similar to the original Parker, so I suppose that the spare Nibs would fit the original Parker! In many cases I have tried and seen that the Parker Calligraphy Nibs fit some Boer Fountain Pens of the same dimension!
Maybe nobody likes clone pens but is the only way for some people to use a brand pen without paying 60% of the price just for the brand name. Some fakes are really good quality and you will never buy the original one😀
My favourite user was always the Parker Rialto, in terms of writing user friendliness, I think it’s Parker best modern fountain pen. The Sonnet is a smooth writer and is affordable in the UK, about £60 or $73, not $200. Pretty, pretty, pretty much a bargain🤣🤣🤣
I have bought fake Parker Sonnet couple of years ago and I agree that Jinhaos and Baoers are better and cheaper pens than fake Parkers. The twist converter on the fake Parker is better than original Parker slide type converter though.
I got one of these. I thought it wrote ok (for a bargain fountain pen; it's very wet, all the eBay ones seems to be), but the barrel and the cap are slightly misaligned, which I am sure the Parker one isn't.
In my opinion when I say boring I usually refer to as a pen that has a nib that has no natural line variation and has no flex and no variation in ink flow. Examples would be the baoer 388, baoer 801 and parker jotter/vector
I have said many times that I don't like to use hooded fountain pens because they are generally stiff. I have not used the parker 51, although the wing sung 601, which is the best 51 clone does have what I would call a boring nib, and I don't use it too often. The 2000 though is certainly an exception because there is a little bit of flex in it and the broad that I used was butter smooth.
My dad has quite alot of Parker pen collection and immediately caught a fake, and honestly it wasn't that hard because first the nib design was different and second it legit had an engrave written luoshi 760, kind of a copy of the , we opened the ink to find East Asian writing (can't assume if it was Japanese or Chinese or Korean or another language cause we don't speak any of those) but it was for sure a copy of the vector stainless steel
If this were your first fountain pen it wouldn't create a good impression. There is a Baoer copy of a Parker Vector that works quite well. As you say, JPL, there are better inexpensive pens out there. I'd rather have a Jinhao 51a or a Wing Sung 3008 piston filler. The Jinhao and Wing Sung pens only cost a little more than the fake Parker but are more satisfying, in my opinion.
Certainly, first impression is really a make or break situation. As I have mentioned, it took some shimming and diy work to get my 78g (my first fountain pen) to work. If I wasn't annoyed that I spent $20 on it I would have thrown it out and never used a fountain pen again.
One thing about original Parker pens is that they write, they may be boring but they write reliably from my experience. This copy is it branded with the parker logo? , i don't recall you stating this in the video if you did then i'm sorry i missed it . I personally am not ok with the Chinese producing fakes , emulations are a different matter but true fakes that in my book is a big no no. Thanks for the review though
I've purchase a couple of dozen Chinese fountain pen including the no-name Parker Vector clone for $0.70. The Vector clone is the only Chinese pen I've toss in the garbage. The nib on the one I got was even worse than the the one you tested. Moreover, the glue holding a section of the feed housing in place weakened and the pen literally feel apart in my hand.
I have one of these bought for nib grinding practice. Mine came with an alleged fine nib with tipping like a Luxor fine. As I have a number of Vectors I decided to regrind it as an extra fine, it was pretty nice as an xf but due to a defect in the tipping or my cack-handed grinding the tipping broke off of one tine. I then ground the tipping off altogether and reground as a~0.7 cursive italic. It is now one of my nicest writing italics and is always inked.

Cheers, glad you enjoy the vector
How does ink comes out so nicely with your pens?, Is it because of the ink or the pen?, If it is the ink then please guide me with ink?
As I am exploring options for different fountain pens and their proper use in my quotidian tasks. Your channel is a go to these days. Good job👍
Thankyou
@@jpl2475 You are most welcome. Do you have an official Instagram page dedicated to the fountain pen and information. I would love to follow!
I do, just made my first post a few minutes ago, instagram.com/iam_jpl/
Thanks for the video. I have a Parker Vector calligraphy set with spare sections. Will they be interchangeable with the metal body of the fake?
The metal body of the fake Parker Vector is quite similar to the original Parker, so I suppose that the spare Nibs would fit the original Parker! In many cases I have tried and seen that the Parker Calligraphy Nibs fit some Boer Fountain Pens of the same dimension!
Is there an engraving as "P.A.N"? On the cap
I use Parker pens at school one kid was jealous and tries stealing mines everyday

It is not even a brand pen then
Pls do a review on the "Parker Beta"
Great review! eBay is now saturated with several Parkers and Lamy's among other brands.
What ink did you use?
Breakpeace he says it in the vid I don’t know how to spell it tho.
@@Cw4O24 oh got it. I couldn't understand what he said because I don't speak English very well
Ink's name is Noodler's Black
@@khondokerintiseralam4528 thanks very much
Joshua, will you ever get a Lamy 2000 anytime soon?
Not a pen on the top of my list, although I have a friend that owns one so I might ask him if I can borrow it one day

Are the parts interchangeable? My Parker plastic cap is cracked. I don’t like the pen anyway, too darn lightweight.

nice pen
How would you define a boring pen?
In my opinion when I say boring I usually refer to as a pen that has a nib that has no natural line variation and has no flex and no variation in ink flow. Examples would be the baoer 388, baoer 801 and parker jotter/vector
@@jpl2475 By that definition a lamy 2000 or a parker 51 too would classify as a boring pen?
I have said many times that I don't like to use hooded fountain pens because they are generally stiff. Well worth the extra dollar for a Baoer 801 :D
Easily worth it

Same. Those (51a and WingSung 3008) are two of my EDC workhorses.

If the nib isn't polished well I'll do the rest of the job it's like buying a pre made pen that needs more polishing
Did you have another Parker Vector Knockoff to compare it to?
You can consider Boer Fountain Pens as Parker Vector Knockoffs!
Actually Parker makes a fp called Beta, which is around 130 Indian Rupees, which is about 1.74USD and the nib is the same as in the Vector.
Luxor make it with a licence to use the Parker name on it. It's only available in India and Nepal.
What happen to JPL BLOG?
life got very busy :(
In India Parker vector gold fountain pen is just at 10$
I want this Parker fake
I have same silver parker but real

It true I have fake Parker vector from flipcart
i ground its nib by myself and believe me it has become smoother than my parker sonnet's nib..
missed your videos mate
its nice to be back
Отличный обзор, спасибо! Ваше мнение весьма авторитетно.
As a owner of a vector watching this is quite interesting.

plot twist: the pen isn't fake at all XD
Bahi plese give me one pen
I received some of these fake vectors for free. They are honestly terrible in my experience.
Looks like they are consistently terrible then

Pretty useless review. All this talk and not much of a conclusion.
Fake vector for me is too wet
