Serious talk, the whole “no one wants to work” is insane haha I know you guys know, but as a person who applied to g4 and 50+ other openings, places either don’t wanna hire, they have a database that picks and chooses CVs for keywords that aren’t friendly to a different resume/cv formats or they’re offering the worst benefits with close to minimum wage salary. Anyway, just another annoyed unemployed person looking for a job for the sake of experience and money/insurance. ANYWAY love you guys.
The government printed a bunch of money $ gave it out with unemployment stimulus and everyone was at home playing Crypto roulette with it during this whole pandemic
It's not about the work, people are realizing their worth and are no longer putting up with toxic, inequitable managers.

Oof. I'd love for Rob to get the actual information about holidays and paid time off in another podcast so we can see his reaction. "Christmas? You have to get a week for Christmas, so added up, let's say 2 months." Oh, honey. (^～^;)ゞ
I work with a branch that closes for most, if not all bank holidays, which I believe came to 11 days this year. One day for Christmas, the Friday before, 12/24.
If I remember correctly, most places that I've worked, you didn't start out with a flat amount of vacation given to you, but a number of hours earned per pay period. I believe that the first year was about 2 weeks total at the end of the year, then it bumped to where it would be closer to a month at the end of the following year.
In a really specific set of circumstances, it can get up there if you're burning through all of the time you earn, but I think you'll find very few businesses closed on President's Day or Indigenous People's Day; you can basically go about your everyday life and walk into any shop you want to and not realize it's a holiday.

Like Rob, I've also lived a minimalistic and relatively frugal lifestyle, with a vague feeling of being able to pack up and move at a moments notice. Not in any anxious or serious way, just a feel I've always had.

I have been missing episodes as of lately, the UA-cam Algorithms pisses me off too. When i write funny stuff on channels, it get's deleted. I type like a robot, i guess. I do like the show but Rob just constantly asking the other two hosts questions about specific scenarios only broken up by adverts did not make a great episode :( Looking forward to the next one though! :)
