We are a couple who once fell in love with mountains and couldn't get back. So we decided to follow our heart and move from a big city to a small village to be able to do what we love and to create this content. Our goal is to promote the healthy lifestyle, to motivate people to travel more and care for nature around. We are passionate walkers who love hiking, trekking and camping. We offer the detailed information of our hikes and routes, including the map and all the directions, so that you can repeat it if you'd like to.
We choose walking over driving and other types of transportation whenever we can because we learnt that this way we see so much more and can explore and feel the place better. Walking is an excellent activity that has so many benefits to your health and requires no special equipment or practice, so we encourage you to get the most out of it and get out walking.
We speak English, Spanish, French and Russian, so don't hesitate to address to us in your native language.

Alcohol stoves are great for day hikes or overnighters in a pinch. They are minimal in size and paired with a hand sanitizer bottle, it's a great little cook kit. There are tiny pot stands that weigh very little. Like cross stands, or trangia triangle.
They are quiet. That ia a huge advantage compared to canister stoves.
For longer hikes, it is an illusion. You need a lot of alcohol for anything other than heating up water for coffee. It becomes impractical.
@@petemainacc Thanks for the info!
Great work folks!
Thanks a lot! Appreciate your comment!
Exactly what I experienced too. I had the small one and gave it the benefit of the doubt by taking it with me on several hikes. Lots of smoke, wouldn't put out enough heat, everything covered with sutt. Basically all the problems you have mentioned. I ended up throwing it away. I am looking to get one of those gasification stoves instead. But haven't made up my mind about which one.
Thanks for sharing your experience, it seems like the size of the wood stove makes all the difference in this case. Let us know how it goes with the gasification stoves, as we haven't tried any of this type yet.
I have tested several different variants of this type of wood stove and have come to the same conclusion as you. The equation doesn't add up, you want a light and small kitchen that you can heat a cup of coffee or cook in. In a small kitchen, you can at best heat a cup of coffee, but it is difficult to maintain the fire. The wood stove I use is a circular gengas wood stove. When packed up, it takes up little volume. You have to monitor the fire but don't have to feed it very often. As it is natural gas technology, it burns without smoking. The kitchen provides high heat development even though it is small. The diameter measurement should not be less than the height measurement of the cylinder. If the cylinder is tall and narrow then you will have problems with the combustion.
Good review! Thanx!!
Thanks a lot!
I use the small lixada a lot, if you are patient enough to start the fire small and build a bed of coals it works very well.
That's interesting, probably we weren't that patient with it and compared to the big one it seemed much slower.
@@WalkingNatureWorld Yes you overstuffed the small one this reduces airflow a lot :) Good luck next time :)
i carry plastic fan which comes in handy and to prevent stove from collapsing, i carry piece of metal wire to wrap it around !
These are some nice tips!
You had the small stove smothered. Put in less fuel, as you would on the biggger one but to scale. You can also build a top-down fire, which will definitely work better
Thanks a lot for the great advice! Going to try it the next time
A friend of mine drilled some extra airholes in his, then it was easier to get the fire going.
That's a nice little tip, thanks for sharing!👍🏻
the small one are too small, difficult for winter/cold weather use, not recommended!
Thanks for sharing your experience! We did find it difficult to use even in summer but had little experience using it in cold weather.
