Went to the SJ Museum of Art for the first time last week and this hanging piece is the first thing you see. I felt so silly standing in the entrance for so long just looking up, it's really amazing in person :' ) I also bought a cute cosmetics bag at the gift shop--I had a lovely time 10/10 would visit again
That is an amazing piece. I love the way the viewer is drawn into the piece by the linear openings that reveal as one's perspective moves. It harkens to the way a rainbow is generated by a viewer's location. A brilliant piece.
How easy is it to keep this artwork dust free? All of those horizontal surfaces must surely attract dust particles. Is there a regular maintenance schedule to deal with this issue?
I stopped in yesterday and spent a considerable amount of time looking at this piece. I kept asking did they start from the middle out or the exterior in for installation ...watched this three times to figure it out :)
