🏖== Excellence Playa Mujeres ==🏖
We were honored to visit Excellence in April of 2022. Thank you to the wonderful staff that made our trip so amazing. Excellence is a beautiful resort located approximately 40 minutes from Cancun airport. Known for its private and safe location in the gated community of Playa Mujeres. The Excellence beach sits on a beautiful stretch of white powdery sand protected by the island of Isla Mujeres located just off the cost. This protection helps cut down on some of the major seaweed problem that happen farther south of Cancun. Excellence is a great resort for those looking to have a great time, with lots of non-stop activities and entertainment on the daily schedule, several bars and restaurants and 24 hour room service. The service by the staff is what truly sets Excellence resorts apart from other all-inclusive resorts and is the big reason you see so many guests choose this resort as their home away from home!
Immediately after our week at Excellence we took a special golf cart next door to Excellence's sister resort exclusively for couples, Beloved. That video will be live soon. What a beautiful contrast between these 2 resort properties. We will help you make a decision on which property you may be best suited for.

Thank you so much for your sincere comments. We really appreciate the support. Being brutally honest in our reviews is so important. We don’t want to sugar coat things, we’re always going to tell it like it is. I actually removed a few things from this video so we didn’t come across as too negative. You’ll see in our Beloved video what we mean (no chair game, better food, better service, etc)
how what the weather, and the beach in June? planning to go in 2023
@@veebee1550 It will be HOT & HUMID in June. During the summer months you may have to battle sargassum seaweed on the beach. The seaweed is unpredictable and you may have days where there's none followed by days where it's so heavy you can't get in the water. Thankfully the resorts on Playa Mujeres aren't hit as bad as other areas because they are protected by the island of Isla Mujeres just off the coast.

We have been here many times and it’s by far our favorite resort. You are right I’ve never had a better massage in my life than at the spa here. I would say on food there’s so many choices and places to eat here your bound to find something you like, we love the food and at night we eat a different course at a different restaurant, so fun. The vast menu for room service is also something that I’ve never seen anywhere else, especially in Mexico. But the staff is really what sets it apart and the beautiful location

I love the thoroughness of all of your reviews… thank you so much! By chance, did you get a chance to venture over to the Finest Playa Mujeres side? If so, I would love to hear your thoughts and comparisons to Dreams Playa Mujeres, particularly for families.
Thank you so much for your comment. We have not been to Finest yet, but know many that have. As far as comparisons to Dreams. Ultimately a lot depends on the age of the kids. Dreams has so much more to offer if your kids are in the range of 6-7yrs or older, with the large waterpark are and the 2 large waterslides. Finest only has a small little area for kids and is targeted to younger kids. We've been to Dreams multiple times with our family and specifically chose the Playa Mujeres location for it's better room category options and activities for older kids. Good news about Toscana breakfast buffet, you can self serve again now! They took the plexiglass down.
That is fantastic news. That was the big slow down for the buffet, waiting to be served at the different stations!

Thanks for the review. Were headed there next month. As an adavnced hobbyist on making videos (family vids) I really appreciate your video production (following the tennis ball, showing the activity board, showing the app, having the red pointer motion track with your overhead shot of the resort, etc.). Did you take your own drone shots? What drone? I'm also trying to determine how you did the animated numbers in the Beloved review ranking.
You are going to absolutely love it. 99% of the footage is all shot by me, some is stock footage or random other clips. I use a DJI gimbal and Sony A7IV camera for all shots, DJI Mavic Air 2S drone for aerial. Please note, I get permission from the resorts to fly the drone and capture footage, they otherwise prohibit drone fly overs. A lot of animated stuff is in After Effects and I also have some 3D tracking software to do mapping of clips so I can place an item in the video and it will stay where I place it and function in a 3D space. Great video! We just booked our first visit for April 2024 😊 Can I ask what building you were in? The view from your swimout is perfect and we’re in the same room category.
We were in building 7 on the end nearest to the Havana Cigar Lounge. You don't want to be located near the Plaza Prelude since that's where the nightly activities are and lot's of noise!

Upcoming, Fall 2023, will be our 11th trip to Riviera Maya. EPM is, by far, our favorite resort, with the 8th coming up! The resort is awesome, service is spectacular and the food and beverages are top notch

Handy review, great job, we’ll be back for the 5th time in august, 3 at excellence riviera cancun and will be our second here. One tip that could help, have you ever seen Doug demuros review on cars? He gives them all a Doug score, I’d love to know how this scores compared to other all inclusives. Thanks for the work you do!
Yes, that's a great idea! I love Doug's videos as well as Jeb Brooks, he gives a "Jeb Score". We'll do that for our Beloved video (Coming Soon). Out of all the resorts we've travelled to, right now I would give Beloved the #1 ranking followed closely by Excellence Playa Mujeres at #2!

Can you say if there’s a night club at the resort and if there’s karaoke nights? 😊
There’s not a designated night club per say, but the do have nightly music and most nights will have dancing.
I will say that when you get the excellence club, you get access to Magna, which has some of the best food at the resort imo
Yes, I've heard and seen pictures from Magna and I hear it's fantastic. If the cost to upgrade to Excellence Club level isn't outrageous, Do It! If it's a significant cost difference, folks could save the money and they'll still enjoy the resort immensely and use the money they saved at the spa or on excursions!

Yes it does. Please search the App Store for your particular smart phone and download the Excellence Collection app. They will list all the various spa services available with prices. Often times if you book your spa appointment either ahead of time or as you're checking in they will offer a discount.
At the club level do you get a beach cabana?
I just showed this to my fiancée for one of our honeymoon choices, and she really loved your bit about the spa. If you don’t mind my asking, how much did you pay for that for everything you showed between you and your wife?
My memory is a little hazy, but I think it was somewhere around $350-$400 for us both. You can check out all of the different Spa offering with prices on the Excellence Collection App. They will normally offer you a 20% discount if you ask.

The airport ?
Check the confirmation email you received from the resort. If transportation was included in your reservation, there will be specific information on how to contact Seasons to arrange for transportation. We reached out as soon as we knew our flight information

A few more questions…do you need a reservation for dinner? Do you remember the time that the pool area closed?
No reservations at any of the restaurants. I think they say pools are supposed to close at 8 PM. After that is when they start adding pool chemicals.

Hello, our massages actually weren't part of a specific package. We each simply picked out what we wanted. I got a deep tissue with Gelly (WOW!) and my wife had a "relaxing" massage. You can't go wrong with any of the massages at Excellence Spa.

@@sdmfsdmfn I wouldn't tip $100 each. That's too much. Tip based on how good you think the massage is. If it's the best massage experience EVER, maybe $60, otherwise probably $20-$40 is more realistic.

How is the weather in early October
Normally great, but there is of course a chance of hurricanes and/or tropical storms. That’s why trip insurance is always a good idea
When would be the best time to visit?
Honestly, just about anytime. The end of November to March might be a little on the cool side some evenings and the pools may be a little cooler than normal. April & May are a couple of our favorite months, because it's still normally cool to cold at home and Cancun is starting to get warmer during these months.
Hi, where did you book this package from
We booked the room direct using the Black Friday deal & we booked our airfare separate. If you book room & air through the Excellence site, you’re NOT actually booking the package through the resort. The package booking is handled through “Expedia”! That can sometimes be a problem, just scroll through some of the Facebook group posts & you’ll see what I mean!

We haven’t stayed at Finest yet, but from what we know you will still really enjoy your stay. There is an adult’s only section if you want to avoid kids. If you don’t have kids, you could Also explore rebooking your reservation to Excellence
