If you haven't watched ''64' yet, I'd recommend watching 'The First U.S. Visit' from 1991 instead. It pretty much includes all the footage from the new film, plus all their performances in full. '64 only features a few songs and adds a lot of modern-day talking heads. The full, demixed D.C. concert definitely deserves an album release, tho.
Most reviews echo the same sentiment. From what I gather they pretty much missed the mark with this one. I have a sneaky suspicion there’s tons of unseen footage of the band from this era. Apple choosing the same old footage, not a shocker. Plus it seems somewhat woke as well. We now have to be clearly informed “certain people and certain music invented the band”, when in fact they couldn’t get arrested in Harlem. But coming from Disney maybe we should be thankful there’s no trigger warning at the start.⚠️🫤🤫
Basically watch Beatles 1st US Visit and outtakes from decades ago and the DVD of all the Ed Sullivan shows and that's it. I've seen "Beatles '64" about 30 years ago or more already as any real Beatle fan would've. If you were born later this '64 is only a portion of US 1st visit and Ed Sullivan shows so..... finger it out🎸
@@marivg8948 Because it's old stuff. US Visit originally came out in '64 called What's Happening! The Beatles in the U.S.A then much later in '91 still pre-internet so "hype" is meaningless - fans knew about everything that came out. Funny you say "hype" because all the stuff starting in '94 Anthology (to battle excellent bootlegs) is "hype" just for $$$.
HUGE Beatles fan & didn't care for the film. Would be more interested in seeing a fully restored / extended director's cut of "What's Happening, The Beatles in the USA". But as that's unlikely will have to check out "The Beatles: The First U.S. Visit". Their work on Grey Garderns was amazing and coincidently they were also involved in filming Yoko Ono's 1965 "Cut Piece".
I’ll be curious who they cast as Stuart Sutcliffe, Bob Dylan, Giles Martin, Brian Epstein, and all the other important people in The Beatles’s story for the biopic.
Could you do a video on your favourite album remasters/mixes from the last few years ? Been listening to lots of them recently, even outside of The Beatles - Love the content !
Gotta say I'm not super excited with the rumored biopic cast. Harris Dickinson looks nothing like Lennon. Not a really Barry Keoghan fan and he certainly doesn't give me Ringo vibes, passing physical resemblance notwithstanding. I think Mescal would work okay for Paul, he seems to have the right personality at least. I'm unfamiliar with Rowe, so I won't comment on his fit for George. I'd be more excited with some up-and-coming actors who have a few good performances under their belts but are mostly unknown. Rowe might fit this description, but again unfamiliar with him.
Not interested in uber expensive Beatles MONO vinyl box sets (cash grab by UMG). They've always been in STEREO for me, since I first heard Beatles in mid-70s on the red and blue albums. Also I haven't had a record player since mid-90s.
A Hard Days Night was released on United Artists not Capitol records. That’s why Beatles VI is called that. It supposed to be the 6th Capitol record released.
I always enjoy these Beatles News Roundup videos. You keep it fast and moving. I hate it when UA-camrs take 10 minutes of material and drag it out to 30 minutes! As far as Stu vs John in that audio clip I hope it's Stu and not John. We have plenty of John, but nothing of Stu. And poor Stu got such a horrible fate in life. Let his voice be heard! "Beatles 64" is okay, but not great. Lots of talking heads, mostly old people whose memories may not be very accurate. The new footage is fun to see and hear though. The boys are always fun.
3:52 Apparently THAT guitar is used on Happiness is a warm gun, You Can't Unhear This channel has a video about it. HOWEVER !!! Did you hear about George's FUTURAMA guitar? It sold on auction for £1.27 millions!
I was a disappointed with the new Beatles '64 documentary. Did we really need to see the entire performance of Smokey Robinson singing a painfully slow rendition of "Yesterday", which has nothing to do with their first US visit. Too much modern-day commentary, which of course had to include the most overused word in today's lexicon, racism.

Thanks for the review. I have not seen it yet, it just doesn’t have the hype that Peter Jackson’s ‘Get Back’ had.

Loved Beatles’64

Wow, that bit with Stu's voice was great, never heard that before. I don't think it's John's voice, this one here sounds much more mellow
Beatles ‘64 documentary is AMAZING! Mr Stickermania
7:00 I pressed it up against my ear.. it does not really sound like John to me so I believe it's Stu
I bought all six 1964 mono pressings from Acoustic Sounds for about $30 each with free shipping. Happy with all 6👍👍

I would recommend everyone watch Beatles ‘64. Great film
Nothing ever is still in Beatle world!
What was that ad…?
I liked Beatles '64. But I just want Beatles Coliseum on streaming services. I feel like more live shows should be posted.
Me too but the footage might be partially lost or damage. And it’s probably covered in screaming fans
I guess actually looking like any of the Fab four was not a concern.
Watch The Analogues who don’t look anything like The Beatles but can play their later music exactly like the record
@ yeah I hear ya. Val Kilmer didn’t really look like Jim Morrison but halfway through the movie you kind of forgot that… so we will have to see.

Spot on. It's really old and an obvious attempt at brain washing. Don't forget the other part of the racism mantra that would be "hate*
Definitely John Singing, Not Stu.
Hmmmmmmmm
The American boxset is a joke ,so won't be buying it ,I'll stick to the English versions the ones the Beatles intended to be.
