- Hello and Welcome to a NEW Style of Budget Builds Video where today we'll be taking a look a at a Sub $1 (30p) Game on Steam called "My Car" which I wont be linking for obvious reasons, the game itself is a scam, essentially offering itself for sale despire being a Unity Asset Flip that was essentially uploaded with minor modifications and sold as an "Early Access" title....So join us as we take a look at this 'game', how it works, how it runs, and more importantly is this scam worth your money (PS Its not, dont buy it, I dont endore it, just go and downlaod the unity asset demo for free, it works better too)

Budget-Builds Official good video tbh! If possible maybe look at some cheapish games that are actually fun to play; think that would be quite enjoyable. But overall, great video; keep up all the good work!

I'm Russian and I'm sick of all these people praying for old USSR cars
There are even mods for Need For Speed games, changing all car models to Ladas
They might not be. I mean Ladas are much more endearing and funnier for people who never had to deal with them, just know them from hearsay and media and experience them as an iconic item rather than just cheap cars that people got because that was just about the only thing within their reach and much better than a Zapo. It's a bit like this recent wave of 80ies retrofuturism that gave us the likes of Kung Fury and Blood Dragon, glorifying the past that never really existed.
My Grandad used to have a lada in the 90s, was made out of pig iron and had the performance of a goat with three legs... Not exactly the type of car you want in Need for Speed.
The reason a lot of people in Western countries like old Commie shitboxes like Ladas and Trabants is because they're essentially cheap blank canvases for modding. I've seen a handful of Lada based racecars that perform really well and are hilarious to watch.
I currently daily drive an old 2106 from '84.
Amazing car in my opinion.
But don't expect it to comfortably go over 110 kph.
i like how they were too lazy to even properly name it and just named it "My Car". yeah, as apposed to "Driving a car in a bad asset flip game".

also, SLRR is not a unity asset, it's a game that has been since going since 2003, with a very heavy modding community keeping it alive, the SLRR you see in the Steam Market is it's latest iteration, the SLRR 2.3.1, the most used version of SLRR is 2.2.1, and it is a far more superior game as a whole than this asset flip.
furthermore, SLRR doesn't use Unity at all, but a Custom-made java script, Invictus SCX, that's the engine it runs on.

Budget-Builds Official shame indeed, I bought the steam release the week it launched and glad I did, the numerous bugs have been getting patched out with it.
the version of slrr on steram is technically not supposed to be there. they are there with permission of the original devs BUT the devs don't own the rights. activision owns the rights so its a very dodgy situation overall...

Speedyheart well considering how it's still up, there was possibly some shared rights between the devs and publisher that made the steam release legal.

Street legal racing redline is a decent game and has lots of hours to play through
I have it on Steam and I recommend to download it from VStanced rather than buying it :u

SLRR is not an asset flip, it doesn't use unity at all. It's a great game from 2003 or 4 which probably inspired the asset pack. It's a good game with lots mods, if you enjoy the concept of this game and wanna see it done better you should check it out!
Scam game? Looks like someone made it in their spare time with Unity as a practice or hobby. What's wrong with that?
Many people nowadays think that game developer's time costs nothing. I'm not saying that reviewed game is a good game, but if, for example, you buy a cheap beer and you think it is crappy beer it doesn't mean that it should not cost any money. Just don't buy it, that's all. It's that simple.
Watch the video. Completely. It's an asset flip game.
Learn how to use an adblocker. Also yeah, asset flip games are a huge problem on steam. Got kids pooping out several games a day in hopes that you'll buy it cause it's so cheap.
I see where you come from, the thing is, Steam is crowded with those asset flip spare time made games and some people actually buy them, its very bad to be looking on Steam and have your time wasted with this, there are sites to put games like this that overuse assets and probably took 2 hours to make, one of my favorite sites for this is GameJolt, this game would be welcome there.

This game reminds me of those free flash games you used to play as a kid. Miniclip, newgrounds, etc. Even fully fledged 3D games back in the day.
1:55 That car with the hammer and sickle looks an awful lot like a Lada, actually, a domestically-built Soviet car. They're cheap, light and reliable, and easy to mod, but don't expect luxuries like an automatic transmission, a stereo, antilock brakes, electronic central locking or fuel-injection engines.

And you know what? They have just bought a template called Survival game kit from the ue4 store changed som small stuff and published it to steam.
I actually bought this game because of you, a few days back.
I found that the propulsion has too much understeer and the traction has too much oversteer, and it is supposed to be the other way around. Also, i managed to replace the engine and the transmission of the traction withe the propulsion’s engine and transmission, and it was still a traction.
When i removed as much weight as i could, and placed as many « sports » parts as i could, i think the car was 250hp, and at this point it just can’t drive. Full throttle makes the back end go wild
Now i thonk about it, it’s a good investissement, because you can point out what’s wrong, so you know what to look to in a car sim

Wow the sega gt 2002 music brought back a lot of nostalgia
That 'mountain', surrounding the course is literally like 2 mins work in Unity. Click the 'raise terrain' tool and drag it around the perimiter of the map. Look up any online tutorial for how to make a unity car game and you'll see they all do this to hide the small map.
BTW - I'm not saying it's Unity's fault. Love that game engine. But it's best feature (accessibilty) has also become it's curse because of all the people dragging it's name through the mud with these quick asset-flips.

Unity is a nice tool but it opened the doors for a ton of people to make a lot of shitty, terrible and stupid games and flood places like Google Play store, and Steam with it

SLRR isn't even built in Unity, it's built on a java based game engine and was released like 2003.

I was gifted a game, Raceland. It's this but 10x worse, and it's 99 cents in the states, it's a unity asset flip and it's garbage.

As you said on 08:29 , you can waste a few hours on it. Most people pay €60 for a game they play roughly 20 hours, which means they pay €3 per hour..
Even if you can waste 10 minutes on it, it's worth it.
Or you can download the unity demo for free as it's a blatant asset rip?
So you get the full enjoyment, and spend no money....
Well, the cars itself are much more of a giveaway about where the developer came from.
