- Ben Sheaf scored twice as Coventry City's good Championship form continued with a 1-2 win against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
This video provides a stunning view of Sheaf's superb curling effort from outside the penalty area, with the Sky Blues fans going wild in the Leppings Lane end of the stadium.
The Coventry skipper doubled the lead as he smashed home a rebound after Tatsuhiro Sakamoto's shot had been saved by debutant Beadle.
Wednesday's Josh Windass fired home from close range soon after as the Owls made a fight of it.
Sadly, an entertaining game was overshadowed by ugly scenes late on as Kasey Palmer made an allegation of racism after apparently being subjected to an unacceptable gesture from a member of the crowd, with both clubs later condemning the incident, which is under investigation.

I'm a Coventry fan I parked at Meadowhall and took the tram to the ground. On the journeys there and back talked to Wednesday fans they were all good natured even in defeat.

It’s always interesting to capture a goal when you can see the fans directly behind going wild. It’s obviously not what I wanted to see, but the clip of the first goal with 4,000 celebrating on Leppings Lane makes an impressive sight.

It started with some kid giving him loads of grief, he then gave it back which probably wasn't a good idea but if you can take it then fine, Wednesday fans thought he was a wanker after that. But it's only football so someone going to far is proper knuckle drager behaviour. But all the Wednesday fans saying it's just one fan should think about their whole stand then singing "get the bastard off" it's pretty clear what they are saying. Great match poorly officiated with a horrendously hostile environment, emotions took over the stupid racist, i hope he is banned. Weird game tbf just glad we came out on top though if you continue to dominate games the way you dominated the second half you don't have issues getting out the relegation zone. Good luck Wednesday! So a black player has Monkey Racist insults directed at him in 2024 in the UK and when the player brings it to the attention of the Ref, Sheffield Wednesday Fans sing " get the bastard off the pitch? " Disgraceful Sheffield Wednesday should be ashamed of themselves and the club and the F.A should act on this immediatly! He approached the fans in the kop and north stand constantly throughout the game talking and gesturing. Honestly I thought he was looking for a fight but seems he found a racist instead. The fans sang that because of the constant focus by the player on us all game, how the ref didn't see this is beyond me. The fans thought his conduct was disgraceful.
