- paulwilliamsconnection.org/ Paul Williams performing with fellow songwriters Jon Vezner, Pat Alger, and Wayland Holyfield at Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival at the Bluebird Cafe, Nashville, Tn on March 29, 2012.
Paul Williams is an extraordinary songwriter who has blessed us with so many beautiful songs. In April 2009, Williams was elected President and Chairman of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.
This guy helped the Carpenters hang a lot of gold records on the wall.
Paul Williams was the 70's he not only wrote for himself ,,but he wrote for everyone else T.V and film !This man was amazing !
A friend of mine got to meet Mr. Paul Williams just today! They shook hands and got their picture taken together. How lucky is that?!
Loved the story about his mom and how she provided the opening words to Rainy Days and Mondays for him. Love Paul Williams and his songs.
Jim's got it right. Charming guy, storyteller, and under-appreciated songwriter. Listen carefully to "That's Enough For Me". Long life and happiness Mr. Williams!
But he's only underappreciated because of how deeply his songs have embedded into our landscape. True, it makes them harder to notice day to day but no less unknown or unloved.
Thank you for this beautiful music and thank you for sharing it with us
Thank you Paul. And thank you Karen and Richard.
I just watched your movie : Paul Williams is still alive. All the memories that came back to me ! My Dad, who passed away a few years ago, was an arranger/composer who loved your music. I was raised with your music and hearing you was so amazing ! Thank you, Paul Williams !
Paul Williams, Waylon Jennings, Bernie Taupin and Pete Townshend are among my favorite songwriters.
Did you forget Andrew Gold?
Feels like I was sitting in that club, after seeing this clip. Thanks for posting.

Paul is the best he made living in the 1970's so much better.
This guy gave us so much, and it just goes on and on. I danced at my daughters wedding to Rainbow Connection. Thank you Paul.

Paul's songs meshed perfectly with her voice.
I saw him in the 70's at 6flags at the southern pavillion in arlington, tx. I was a kid that went with his mom. I was however and am now a musician and writer and had seen elton and the jackson 5 already by then amongst others, he was greatness then and always will be one of the best writers. waking up alone. simple man. genius!!!!! Phantom was also awesome.
How wonderful is that.... The great Paul Williams. His timeless songs touch the soul.
God bless Paul Williams

Wow Pauls Dad wrote for the tonight show. Love him forever. Wow He really tugged on my heart strings and stirred some memories in a wonderful way!
+GRETA MALL Sorry, Paul's dad did NOT write for the tonight show. Paul is talking about the first time he met Pat McCormick (Pat WAS a writer for the tonight show) They were both in the movie Smokey and the Bandit. Paul's dad was killed in a car crash and "little Paul" was sent to live in Long Beach. See Paul's DVD Still Alive. It tells his story.
Oh Thankyou. I stand corrected. Smokey and the Bandit was a fun flick.
you have never heard the ending to Thunderbolt and LIghtfoot.

The guy was peculiar. But he wrote a ton of big smash hits. He must be a zillionaire. His appearances on Carson enhanced his legacy.

Funny! I remember a lot of his songs.
Came from Karen Carpenter's version and I say: he owns the song, he can do all the fun talking he wants!!!
just came out with a documentary about him. looks pretty good. guy went through alot of ups and downs.
He was the musical version of Cousin IT from the Adams Family.
WTAF was that??
Talented songwriter, nice guy. But certain other singers have done better versions of his songs. It is easy to think of one lady in particular.
hablas mucho y cantas poco mmmm?
Il a perdu sa voix ,dommage I
good song writer, horrible singer!
