  • In this interview at ILA Berlin 2024, we take a closer look at the significance of ground-based air defense in modern military operations, highlighted by the Ukrainian conflict.
The German NNbS program aims to close the capability gap in short and very short-range air defense, providing crucial protection against various aerial threats, including UAVs and missiles. HENSOLDT, in collaboration with Diehl Defence and Rheinmetall Defence, contributes advanced technologies like the TRML-4D radar and Spexer 2000 MkIII to the NNbS system.
Looking ahead, future air defense in Germany will integrate new technologies such as counter-UAS missiles and high-energy laser weapons, all linked to NATO's integrated defense network for enhanced situational awareness and protection.
