It's sad that Saba Salmon has long gone from store shelves. So I make do with Saba Mackerel, simple ginisa with talbos. I tried this canned Saba Pusit once but didn't like it's taste & texture. But I'm going to try Mr Bulbul's recipe invention since he swore by how good it tasted. Now I'm hungry😁👍

Mr. Bulbul go do this next time. Promise, it will be more delicious.
    1) Saute garlic, onions and bell pepper
    2) Add the contents of the SABA can.
    3) Put 1.5 Tbsp vinegar, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp water, 2 bay leaves and 1.5 tsp sugar, ground pepper and chili flakes or powder.
    4) Simmer 3 mins
    5) Eat

Personally, I haven’t tried the Saba squid in can. I eat squid, but its not something I would crave. This became like the sardines video for some reason.
I also heard of a fermented squid banchan, but I haven’t encountered it yet, same with lotus root.

You should let it simmer for 5 mins after you put the vinegar to evaporate the acidity. (DO NOT MIX AFTER YOU PUT IN THE VINEGAR) But after 5 mins of simmering you can mix it.
Btw. I really want to try that lol.

There is no authentic/original adobo in my opinion. Philippine cuisine is based on the available ingredients you have or ingredients you have on your region. You can cook adobo with any sour agent you have. Or you can substitue soy sauce with oyster sauce just like I do with my Adobong Sitaw. Same goes with other Filipino food like Sinigang. You can use tamarind, kamias or guavas. But you can still call it sinigang.
