Hi Jason. Nice to be tucked up in a tent when the weather is like that. it will be hard to go back to ration packs after those steaks . The weather might not have been the best, but that is a good excuse to make a return visit . An enjoyable watch. Take care 👍
Once I got the tent up I could relax but I probably could have got fully inside the tent a lot sooner, I was hoping the views might have cleared up again. Thanks a mill for watching 🍀
@cahillp3 I'd rather play it safe, the very next day a man fell and died on Brandon which is only down the road. I was supposed to stay down for a second night and guess where I was heading... Brandon. I drove down there that morning, I couldn't see the mountain because of the cloud cover and because of the terrible conditions the night before I made a decision to head home. Kicking myself all the way home for not going ahead with it. Later that day, I heard that a man had fallen, his body was retrieved the next day. I reckon I was lucky that day, maybe someone was watching out for me
Regular hikers will all tell you, sometimes there is just a feeling that you shouldnt chance it. Could be the incoming weather, wind strength, bad visuality but usually its just a hunch, instinct and usually its right. Its best to never find out what might have happened and just be safe. The mountains arent going anywhere, there will be other hikes.
It’s so easy to tell yourself you’ve only a short way to go and get into a bad situation. Good instincts should never be ignored! Great camping and good to see the back is holding up!
I just had that feeling not to push for the summit. The wind was blowing in the direction of a sheer drop which helped my decision 😄 The back is on the mend, I'm just happy to be able to get out so I won't complain 🍀
The journey and the fact you're out and about is what the real aim is. It was a wise move to not push the peak if you felt it wasn't right. Great spot in the end, with some steak and tea!
Welcome to Kerry 👍 surprised to hear it’s your first time down there, be careful tho, it’s addictive 😬. It’s a stunning mountain… especially when you can see it 🤣

Hi from Cork, love the videos man. I have a question that maybe you will see and answer, but what do you do about condensation in the tent?
Hey Niall, condensation can only ever be managed. Ventilation is the best thing to consider when trying to minimise condensation. You need to have good airlfow inside your tent. Finding a balance between airflow and comfort is important, in the colder conditions you will want to retain as much heat as possible so restricting airflow will help but will also increase condensation. Long story short try to find that balance, ventilation is king. I sometimes use a dish cloth that is ultra absorbent. They are great for wiping down the inside and outside of the tent before you pack it away. Generally I don't worry about condensation too much if I'm only out for one night, I'll use the vent's in the tent to manage it and that usually is good enough. Sexy camping is the new wild camping. 🏕
😄 love it
Lol, great crack Jason, is this the summer time, cause it weren't looking too sexy going up or coming down...!!!🤔😄 Steak looked well nice, more blue that rare, just cut its horns off & wipe its arse...!!!🤣 Dollop of Horseradish Sauce on that would have been banging...!✔️💯👍 Nest wishes, keep up the good stuff...🙏👊
Ireland has just skipped the summer, we may just forget about that season from now on 😄 The steaks were definitely a good choice, I might do some more cooking while I'm out
@@RamblingOn I'm still getting through MRE UK ration packs, which were well worth the dosh, for what U get in them, but I noticed that U had some fancy coffees in URS...!!!😯😄👍
@Kev.B.4311 yeah some of the coffees were lush. That pack I had in wicklow was by far my favourite
