Thanks for the review, Sam! Looks fun. I like that you cover these kinds of games from time to time. I hope you don't feel the need to caveat your high scores for small games by saying they're an eight, but not quite the same kind of eight a larger game would get. I think you should feel confident in your assessment of the fun factor and score them according. In any case, I appreciate this review and look forward to trying it out. Keep up the good work!
Played this blind at a recent game meetup and was pleasantly surprised. WiBurano is a very good game. I disagree with Sam about the "meatiness". I prefer light/casual games. Here, the number of decisions fit like a comfortable shirt - enough room without being too slack. Beautiful art is icing on the cake.
Got ya covered, I own both. Both are drafting and tableau building games. I would say that in comparison I would call Dream Home a level 1 and Walking in Burano a level 2. One thing I have for distinction is that I have played Dream Home with my 7 year old nephew that really enjoys it. I don't know if he could follow the more subtle/moderate scoring mechanisms in Walking in Burano. Having said that, I don't mean to downplay Dream Home, I myself as an adult enjoy playing it. I have played it with other adults that also enjoy it. I don't regret owning both, I love the aesthetics, they are both eye candy games for me. If my crowd is not in too much of a thinky mood or I have younger players I might pull out Dream Home, if I have mostly teens and adults and they are in the mood for mid-range thinkiness I would pull out Walking in Burano. Also another tidbit is that Walking in Burano caps at 4 players and Dream home has a 5-6 player expansion available that also includes a solo mode. A final comparison would be price point, Walking in Burano is going to cost a good bit less than Dream Home and it's optional expansion. Hope this helps. :)
Hanamigoji is a better game, for its simplicity but thinkyness. However, walking in Burano is more like a beautiful and humorous game, as they include Santa who likes chimney as one of the residents. Also, walking in Burano is still a bit thinky.

Great review, really like this format.
Looks super cool. I hope Deep Water Games picks it up for US distribution!!
This is the second best burano themed game from Emperor S4
Definitely want this game for the wife and I, hope they bring it to the US!
Thanks Sam. love this game, played few times since I bought it. Wonder if anyone that have played this and Dream Home can give some input/comparison.

Thank you so much Carla! That's all I need to know :)
Great review. Thanks sam
Forget the games. When are we going to see Sam Healey reads: Masks?
But which game should one choose now? Walking in Burano, Porto or Copenhagen? Each game hat its own wits but I don´t want to buy ´em all.
"Deceptively meaty" Like a chicken wing!
hahahahahahaha
Lol 😂

Hey, it's Christopher Walken in a Burrito.
