Marriage under the government is something I have decided to not do, if I ever marry. The legalities and the control they can then have over the couple and their children is quite frankly scary. And now with the government in my country the way it is, I have No desire to give them any foot hold in my marriage. Marriage was created by Yah and so therefore He is the only One who can truly create a binding covenant. I still think it is super important to have a ceremony and vows/Ketubah and witnesses so it is all done Biblically and honourably..
@Christ’s Disciple I’m not going to obey a government that has turned against its people, so your argument is false and misleading. I can hand pick anything out of bible and use it against you. But when I see evil ways, I don’t have to condone it.
How can it be done biblically if your going against the culture and law of your country Romans 13 1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
There is a need for the legal set up… when there are children and assets/property shared. Unfortunately, people break up or pass away and it is important to have legal protections for such things. And companies can more easily offer extra benefits like health ins to legal spouses … although that is changing… I just got hired on at a co and they are now extending benefits to declared domestic partners on some level. But in the end, I don’t think it’s a sin to make vows before God without those legalities. The important factor is to commit before God. And having the immediate combined families acknowledge the marriage so that the spouses become part of each others families. Unfortunately, some families may do this, but then screw the UN legally married ‘spouse’ out of property or disallow access to ??? Just because there is no legal right… I’ve seen that happen.
The only thing I've seen in getting a marriage license through the government is to divide families. Take all that the man has give it to the woman and put him on child support. Oh did I say take his house and car? Yeah I see why men aren't getting married. If they do I wouldn't want a marriage license either. I'm a woman. I hate this government system.
@@MsSexc40 you're right. How many men have committed suicide because of child support. And the men are thrown in prison and child support builds up because of prison. That's why I don't date American women anymore. To big of a risk. I was homeless because of child support. Lost everything.

In genesis Yahweh said that the man is the authority over the woman. signing a document that places a government ruling over the control of property and children is an apostasy against his word. When you sign that document you knowingly remove the authority of the Father's law over the direction of your family. the judge becomes your family's god. Paul said we are not supposed to go to the government to judge issues amongst believers. We will judge angels one day and should be able to judge our problems in this life by his word and not go before the law of the unjust. To say the father has given an unjust court is heretical in itself.
Yes government gives benefits for married couples alright like giving them both paycheck cuts if they're both on social security and married. Taking money from them that they literally can't live without, or here's another benefit that the government gives, sticking a man with child support or lengthy custody battles or giving the woman alimony for the rest of her life if she wants it, tell me more about the wonderful benefits the government gives to people who are registered in their eyes.
Please tell me what privileges and benefits come out of being married by law. My fiancé and I already own everything half and half the title to our home has both of our names the title to our properties have both of our names the title to our vehicles have both of our names what more could you want?
Why are you focusing on divorce and planning for your divorce if the Bible doesn’t agree with divorce. Seems like you’re scared of divorce so you don’t want to worry about the legal issues. Not a good way to plan your marriage
I stopped thinking about the government as a God-given authority on marriage, when the Supremely Corrupt legalized homosexuality on the Federal level in defiance of the Constitution. But even before that, I had questions about the appropriateness of a government license for Christian couples. I do not want to go outside God's will, looking for an excuse to get away with sin...but the whole idea of giving the government any say over my marriage truly bothers me. Whatever the government can approve, it can also control or even dissolve...and isn't marriage supposed to be a sacred institution above all else? This is still very confusing to me, so I'd appreciate more info from STR on it. Thanks!
Research the history of marriage and the history of the catholic church in regards to marriage. All God wanted from us is written in his book, stories which were recorded for us to know the path. As with everything in the bible there seems to be a literal physical application (man and woman uniting) - also look up the etimplogy of the word wife, husband and marriage in original form. And look at how these take place on the spiritual level, the fruits matter to God, even sacrifice is abolished through Christ cos God was done with "legalities" which didnt stem from the heart. This is at least my understanding.

You shouldn’t be divorcing anyways. Men can get alimony too, in certain situations, if you’re not getting married due to legal issues (that you’re scared of divorce) you’re marriage is starting on rocky ground and you probably know deep down it’s not going to work
@@chrisleland5709 It's not always about the worry of divorce but government interference, like people losing their social security checks when they both can't work, benifits getting slashed when they need all the money they have to survive to which even losing 400$ is a lot to them and is the difference between life and death, having resources and food or starving and having nothing, the difference between being able to pay rent and ending up homeless
I honestly believe when it comes to legalized marriage it show go back to the days where the church recorded the marriage and the government and marriage had no involvement with each other. The first marriage certificate did not exist until the 1800s
He says he recommends Christians to get married not only in the eyes of God but also through government registration "so long as the government has not gone completely awry and is horrifically evil", but that's exactly what the US federal government is!! Where is the consistency?
Uhhhhhh, you're gonna have to show where God "gave us government..." I think humans created government, and I would argue there's a lot of sin involved in the reason for that.
@CAJ Action the government in this day and age is more evil and corrupt then the criminals breaking it's law. Everyone accept for the law itself obeys the law... Js.
@CAJ Action I understand. God wants us to obey law regardless. It has nothing to do with the government itself. Just law. And order. And on this earth. In this day. A government is put in place to create the law and police enforce it. Alot of laws are wrong for many reasons and I grew up in poverty where I was only 14 and couldn't even get a job or know how to get a job I was homeless my parents drank did drugs punched each other out I ran aeay at 14 and I had to comitt crime just to eat and put clothes on my back in Canada you cant get a job without a sin number. You must be age 16 to get a sin number. A 14-year-old doesn't even know how to get a job or where to go. Especially when your homeless and hungry. And lost and angry for being abandoned. I had to break the law or I would have died in the streets with no help. The group homes were abusive and youth shelters I would get beat up and robbed for my shoes. Made me a savage but now as an adult after it took 15 years + of correction and healing trauma. I can find ways to survive without breaking the law. But. At 14 ovi with breaking the law came jail. At 15 I was stealing cars robbing drug dealers at gunpoint had a 6-year probation order at q5 didn't get off until I was 21. It takes a life time of growing to heal and learn how to be a working man once you've been programmed like that it's almost impossible the system rejects you all your good for is labour no one will hire you rent to you etc your locked put society hates you and projects stigma towards you making you not want to be apart of society even further. The system it's self is built in the foundation of greed deception and corruption but presents itself as a helping hand. Which is farthest from it's true form and intent.
How do I prevent myself from being seen as married from the government's eyes ? I don't want her to be able to bully me, with threatening to take 50% of our finances, take the children, and move on like I'm trash. Legal marriage is dead, because it incentivizes divorce. People choosing to divorce should have a penalty, where they only receive 25%, and the faithful to marriage partner keeps 75%. Something along those lines, to disincentivize divorce.

I don't know about the bible saying to obey the laws of government. Slavery use to be legal in the eyes of the government. The people Moses saved were held legally in the laws of that Egyptian government. When Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of homosexuality, that lifestyle was legal in the eyes of the government. Laws are often created by greedy selfish shady unrighteous humans that are mistaken. I only obey universal law, not man made.
She will clean you out and end up with a younger man while you pay for it and the court can even order you to get and pay for a life insurance policy So when you die she still gets paid
To involve the government right now with how everything is would be insane in my opinion. I have known couples that have done it legally and have lost everything and have become more poorer then they ever were before.

The best practice supported by scripture is to find a spouse that loves the Lord and you both serve Him, Vow to Him and follow His Laws. If not believers or when one becomes one, there forward by definition be a Christ follower, not a follower of whatever is popular within your local jurisdiction at the time. "Timeline 1:20 Government standards you get all the benefits and protections and privileges with state sanctioned matrimony" NOT SO FAST, you also give the state the right to divorce you for a NO CAUSE DIVORCE, which in the eyes of God are not permissible, except for fornication, sex outside the marriage bed known as adultery. Timeline 2:00 the government is a God given institution, but only to the point where it recognizes God's Word to begin with. So a "no fault divorce" is basically adultery in God's eyes, thus once your married in the eyes of God, no state can undo it.
One can have biblical grounds for divorce and still need to get a no fault divorce rather than a fault divorce. You do realize that the latter often costs 10 times the amount as the former, meaning many tens of thousands of dollars instead of only a few thousand. This is because the grounds have to be proven with witnesses and testimony, which adds greatly to the time and cost. Many people, including the innocent party in a case of adultery, would not be able to afford a fault divorce, even if they had the proof.
Reality = When a woman gets married in the eyes of the state, she gains legal power over her husband, but the man gets stripped of his legal power and freedom. Most men unfortunately discover this only when she decides to divorce him and take away his children, and his house, and most of his present and future hard earned money, or he gets locked up. Dear fellow men, over 70% of divorces today are initiated by the wife, and we already know that no woman will ever sign a pre-nuptual agreement.
Arthur Silver what about when the man is in the military n he marries a civilian just to get outta base n get more money? That's what happened to me. @@manf9593Even 1% can be too many as well. It all really depends on the person, and the circumstances of the marriage. We don't know what happens in other people's marriages behind closed doors, as to why a divorce is initiated for whatever reason in the first place. Can't speak for everyone.
That's why your marriage should be sanctioned and approved of through God alone. What God joins together let no man tear asunder. Divorce happens through mans sinful nature , and it is man's sinful nature that brings forth divorce
You have to love yourself before you learn to love someone else. The whole " you complete me " line is sweet but it is also kind of toxic. You may not be mature enough to handle a relationship or marriage if you are saying this. Additionally anyone who would turn you down only because you don't want it to be done in the eyes of the state, may not be worth marrying anyway. The joy of learning to love yourself first. If it doesn't work out, there is nothing wrong with being alone and who knows, you might find someone else.
So the USA Government says same sex marriage is legal but according bible it is wrong but if you are an ordained minister then legally you would have to give them a marriage license and marrying the gay couple but if you get married according to the ways of the Bible which is the law of the Heavenly Kingdom then the government cannot force no minister to marry any same-sex couples because legally the minister is not legally registered with the government and if you see what they teach in schools to Children nowadays it is best to homeschool your children and to live off the grid so I am in favor of getting married without the marriage license
No , in Bible days if a man took and had sex with a woman they would then have to get married so that they weren't guilty of the sin of fornication. If sex itself created a marriage fornication would not exist and everyone would be married to the person they lost their virginity to.
I too think there are allot of extrabiblical practices people deem mandatory. The bible says a man and a woman are bonded as one flesh after leaving their parents home. where in the bible does it say that a pastor is needed. the bond is given by god. not a human. if im wrong I would love to be corrected. but only with actual bible verses.
You are wrong as well , it is a covenant between a man and woman yes , however it is approved by God and God is in the center of it. Just as the man is the head of the woman christ is the head of the man. Men love your wives as christ loved the church. Everything is done to bring glory to God. Therefore marriage itself is done to glorify God and his will and keep man from burning in their lustful desires.
Nowadays in my eyes (because of current facts) neither a judge nor a pastor holds any authority to declare over me something so personal and intimate between me, God and the man he chose for me. Most of them are corrupted and faulty before God, how can they declare something in his name.
@Christ’s Disciple you are taking things out of Biblical context and also if the government says that Christians have to fund abortion or other immoral practices does that mean we should??? plus there is a thing called civil disobedience, ever heard of the story of Ester? if she had just obeyed the law of the land when it was unbiblical for her to do so at the time, then do you not know that the Jews back then would have ended up impaled on a pole? she being a woman did 2 things against the king's laws, she burst into his place without scheduling a meeting first and spoke to him without permission which her being a woman had God not been with her the king would have put Ester to death so no we don't have to follow or respect everything the government says only the laws that are logical and sound, moral and those that we see are for the benefit of all man kind anything against God we are to question, call out, judge and correct. Don't get the scripted twisted unless you do the work of the devil and are a wolf in sheep's clothing ua-cam.com/video/eeeDOvaEjhw/v-deo.html
@Christ’s Disciple also one more thing if you are gonna call yourself Christ's Disciple then should you not know of Biblical context and how to use it? you clearly don't, go back and study the word before preaching out of context to other people and one more thing you can not be a Disciple only a follower of Christ, to call yourself a Disciple you are literally calling yourself an apostle which is unbiblical because that position was only given to those Jesus selected back then and you are not one of them who God choose directly so thanks for playing but no you nor anyone is a disciple of God we are merely followers and doers of his word and will.
The pastor is officiating a public witness of vows you make to God and declaring what you just did, so that ignoramuses like me will know what just happened. The pastor doesn't create anything new except earning a paycheck and posing for pictures.
As a Christian, I disagree with you. Do not get a government sanctioned marriage. A marriage is between you, your wife, under God, not under government. You want the benefits of government only because it translates into $$$. That’s how they buy you. The wife will have authority over you using the power of government who gives her that authority. Gods authority in your marriage would be more easily challenged during marital trouble. Let not forget we are sinners still. Married sinners.
Romans 13 1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
@@chrisleland5709 The government doesn't order you or make a law requiring you to get a license. A license is permission to do something illegal according to "Blacks Law", and the marriage license was created to control inter racial marriage which was illegal. The US caselaw defines marriage as a contract between 3 parties: two "entities" and the STATE (God is excluded totally). Biblical marriage is a covenant with 3 parties: God, one man, one woman (the STATE is excluded). The government has changed the definition of "marriage" and Christians have been sleeping at the wheel. It's two completely different things.
As a man, I’d much rather skip out on the “protections and privileges” in favor of not being financially destroyed if a divorce were to happen, which I pray NEVER happens to me whenever I get married.
The Bible is against divorce, if you’re getting married this way to protect yourself, it seems like your just focusing on what you want. Romans 13 1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
Exactly and I'm a woman. Men do not benefit in a marriage especially if a divorce takes place. Or she cheats and get pregnant the gov put that child on the husband. Smh
Marriage licensing by the government was born from racism and breaks the man God woman bond making God a non relevant in the union which is compounded by the whole church and state dynamic. The so called protections are not for the family even though it is presented that way, but actually it protects the governments stake in said marriage and what is produced from said union.
Marriage licenses are just one form of legal, government recognition of marriages. Before marriage licenses, there were church records with witness signatures that government recognized as legal marriage. Other countries and cultures had other ways of governing authorities legitimizing marriages. God doesn’t need government to legitimize marriage, but civilizations do in order to incentivize people to abide by their marital duties. God gives governments, including pagan governments, the authority to perform legitimate government functions, such as promoting marriage. He doesn’t give them authority to promote anything sinful, such as same-sex marriage, but heterosexual marriage is not that. We need more and stronger government support for marriage, not less.
Marriage is so complicated.....wish everyone who chooses to do this all the best! Remember, marriage in its simplest form starts with agreement between the people involved in it.
The social benefits of marriage he’s referring to ended with no-fault divorce: the court’s do not protect marriage, and they do not enforce court orders after a divorce. So there are no protections. The government isn’t in the business of nurturing families: it’s in the business of creating single member households. Fewer and fewer people care, so there’s little social benefit. The only other benefit is the write off, but you can get write offs from running a business. Also, this is not the government God gave us. Paul says don’t bring your grievances to pagan courts. US courts are modeled on those same Roman courts. And the only reason for a marriage license is in case you need to bring a grievance to a court. So it’s a closed case: God says marriage should be Sacramento, the state disagrees, therefore, state marriage is wrong. He argues that licenses can be refused if the state is engaging in some evil. State sanctioned marriage is gay in all 50 states. Buying a marriage license supports gay marriage in the exact same way buying a fishing license supports trout fishing.
Christians are Bibically advised to submit to the laws of the land so long as the laws dont break Gods commandments. The bible says marriage is between God, man, and woman. But the government says marriage is between God, the state, and the couple. Government says you can divorce for any reason and even allows same sex marriage. But, the Bible says the exact opposite. There are other ways to get the protections of a legally married couple without submitting to a government given into the hands of the wicked.
When the Pharisee's came to Yeshua with questions about paying taxes, HE said, "Give to GOD what belongs to GOD n to man what belongs to man" same ideal applies. The word says to honor the laws of the land lest those laws are contrary to what GOD has ordained- in saying all that, i believe on this matter, it depends on where you live in the world, your culture heritage n tradition, the ruling government of your land and traditional n religious practices. In the states u need license so i suppose in GODs mind in being obedient to HIS qord n honoring the law here that is not contrary to GOD'S word, we must get licenses. Somewhere in the world though there are remote locations of people who simple have ceremonies and then that couple is recognized by their famlies n communities as husband and wife under GOD....they would laugh at the thought of needing official documents for the institution of marriage and GOD still honors their commitments. So, i believe, its all subjective.
You can be legally married to someone and still not abide in love. You can still cheat on them. Abuse them, be with them only for money etc. That’s not abiding in God or in love. but by using the logic “the government must condone it for it to be in Gods eyes” is not valid. God is the basis for everything. He is the standard for what is good and what is evil. Roman’s 13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. The whole basic of marriage is love. God is love is love is God. Marriage is love which=God. If you abide in God you automatically abide in love which is marriage. John 15:10 supports this “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.” John 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
Governments represent the beast system officially as of 2020. So yes, I am very thoughtful about how I choose to interact with this evil we are stuck dealing with now.
I love the information in this video, it confirms the feelings I have had about this issue for years now. I have been married before legally, for 34 years. We have been divorced for 7 years. I'm now much older with benefits I do not want ripped from me if I get legally remarried, HOWEVER, I can't find a pastor to this day that will do a religious non-legal ceremony for me and my man to save my life! They keep using Ohio law that they could lose their license if they do a Non-legal ceremony for us. Even after I have called the state authorities and confirmed that they could indeed to a religious non-legal ceremony with NO issues, I am still being bucked by protestant pastor's. I guess they would rather see us continue to live our life as we have without the blessing of God than to help us do the right thing, it's been truly frustrating and disheartening!
Why won’t a pastor do it if law-enforcement blatantly says it’s legal? Have you guys come to any conclusion to this? I am just now looking into this because marriage licenses slam benefits sometimes so to speak.

God gave us authority structure (government) in the family, church, and civilly. Corruption and abuse of the structure is not the fault of the structure or creator.
Depends on what you mean by "God-given." Alan likely means that the institution and role of government is something given by God. There's also God's permissive will to consider, meaning God allows certain things to happen and certain governments to rise up. Plus, everything that happens is a part of God's plan, even corrupt governments. That doesn't mean he approves of them, but he will use them to bring about his plan.
Yes, Romans 13:1-7 KJV. God will give a people the government they deserve. As a wicked nation that is sold out to satan and sin calling good evil and evil good, we as a nation have just the government we deserve and it's gonna get worse.
The catholic church began conducting marriages in the 1600s. It was a family matter before that, agreement between 2 families. No signing, maybe a party although some bible verses dont include a party. Read leviticus 18 for sexually immoral acts and and Deut 28-29 for laws regarding betrothed and unbetrothed women. Find in Genesis what the union of man and woman was meant to be (companionship). Is the bible the word of God or not? Or is it church tradition which changes and shifts over time
@Christ’s Disciple I am not disobaying the law of the land in any way. You are talking about 2 different things. If being in a monogamous heterosexual relationship were against the law of the land you may be right. But as you see now the law of the land includes gay marriage so....? Are we to accept and condone gay marriage? Are we to condone teaching sexual education about LGBTQ to children? Calling trans women men and vice versa? Because that is currently the law of the land. There will come a day when marriage licences and weddings will look different than they do now - we use rings which are strictly pagan and women no longer necessarily bring dowry to a marriage. Things have changed and will change - I gather that marriage is the monogamous union between man and woman (biblically men could have more than one wife though)... as agreed upon by both sets of parents of the bride and groom
@Christ’s Disciple wow very good brother or sister in Jesus Christ. This passage came to my mind. Daniel 3:10-18 King James Version 10 Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image: 11 And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. 12 There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. 13 Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king. 14 Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up? 15 Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? 16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. 17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Sure there is one thing you’re not considering, what about those of us who are disabled who if we get married could stand to lose a majority of our benefits. Put yourself in my shoes I have the love of my life and I want to marry her someday. And if I get a marriage license, I, or she, or we both could lose half to 75% of our income or one of us could lose all of it Do you think that is a good institution if it can cause that problem
it is the church, the body of Christ that must determine matters of dispute and not government or legal institutions outside of it - for "shall we not judge angels?" Of course, leadership overall has failed dismally in this regard to be obedient on this very serious matter.
Please I know a man that had to quit his job to watch the kids because the wife made more. She cheated but now HE is getting alimony. You guys have a very distorted view
Do you dislike the Bible too because of the government comments? Sounds like a rebellious heart. Romans 13 1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
God didn't give us government 😟, man gave us government. Bottom line being married in the eyes of God is more important than what ever benifits the government can give

God gave us authority structure and systems of accountability. God did not give us corruption, tyrants, and oppressors. Those who abuse God's authority structure should be held accountable, but everybody knows that doesn't happen enough because people are abused by government officials on a daily basis. Government within the home starts with the father and the choice of the family to submit to his leadership whether he's a bad leader or not. It kind of cuts both ways which is why we have to become the best we can to effect a positive change starting in our homes. I'm preaching to myself here because I stink at it.
I am a Christian man. If i ever get married ( which is not something I think about ) I would not want to involve the Government. I see to many men get screwed by divorce and they end up paying alimony and/or child support. Too much stress. I would rather not deal with all that. Even if God expects us to get the government involved. Men have way to much to lose. May as well consider it a death wish.
What are the pros and cons for women getting married under the government vs just under God’s eyes? I feel that as a woman, if my husband decided to divorce me I would have nothing to live on if we got married and had a ceremony under God but no legal certificate. If I decided to work part time or not at all and he decided to divorce me… that would be pretty tough. So to me it’s kind of dangerous getting married under God only. It seems men are worried women will take their money if divorced under the law and women are worried about not having any money if the man divorced without the law officiating the marriage.
@@audraburke1526 If you had a source of money before the marriage then you’ll just go back to that source. If you do not have a source of money prior to getting married then you not need to be getting married.

@@mattsvoid I didn’t say that as a woman I would be taking anyone’s money. I said if I divorced a man and I had no money because I decided to work as a full time housewife, I would not have enough money to live on at that point. Your responses are not practical. Not everyone can save up enough money before marriage to cushion themselves with if divorced. Plus, I believe that in marriage, everything is shared and having separate bank accounts may be a sign of not trusting your partner (not always but it can be a sign). So if I pool my money with my husbands, it’s because I have put trust in the covenant we made, BUT I can’t predict the future and if something happens where we become divorced, who knows how much of my money I would get back and so forth. Would I get any back? I’m not sure honestly. That’s what I’m asking. What are the pros and cons of getting married under the government or not. whatever... Uriah didn't have to worry about divorce either.... David had him killed, so he could take his wife. I said I would never.... and I fought it tooth and nail, and she still got her papers. And no help from the church.
Government has nothing to do with 2 people wanting g to be married in God's eyes. Marriage is an agreement between 2 people- so an agreement is written up for duration of "togetherness" like a business arrangement "Joint Venture Agreement" to transact some sort of business that requires living together- create the LLC with both of you in the business. Also you can get any Religious person to marry you in God's eyes- as that was important to us when we did this arrangement. When you want a divorce you simply file a dissolution of the business and distribute value of business holdings based on shares owned. If I came into marriage/business venture with more holdings - I leave with more holdings as I held more shares in stock of business. If you have kids during the running of your business- so what - since when does anyone have to file with state to have a baby- you make it all in writing ✍️ Plat and tweak this idea to your hearts content I've used this to be with a particular partner for short time spans or to "Try out" a partner...

Serious question, if someone were to marry by government registry only, does that include cows committed to God? I have not done the process so I don’t know what’s involved, but for a true marriage does it have to include a pastor or priest, and not just paperwork?
What i find interesting is that there are no biblical examples of Jesus or his disciples marrying anyone. Jesus attended a wedding as a guest. A pastor once told me that it was a mistake for churches to start marrying people. Biblical marriage is an agreement between the families. But some will say we need to legalize it too because the bible talks about respecting the law of the land where you live.
@@marjoriebourgouin2782 Good observation. There are no laws requiring it... only laws making it necessary to receive "benefits". And the courts have ruled that "marriage" is a contract between the STATE and two entities (God is completely excluded). This is not even Biblical marriage, so it's better to obey God than conform to peer pressure in contracts that poke their fingers in the eye of God.
The response is: Christ is the author of marriage...government only acknowledges it and at this point is more than happy to attack those who serve Christ. No suprise, they hate our Father and the nations conspire, and the Lord laughs for His is the Kingdom for now and forever. Nations rise and fall, but the Lord and His Kingdom is forever. So the question is whom do you serve? Whose kingdom are you in? Which Father do you serve?
Romans 13 1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
Correction.... the government doesn't acknowledge it in the slightest but in appearance only. Case law says "marriage" is a contract between three parties: the STATE plus two entities (God is completely excluded). So, the STATE has created a new "marriage" and taken the place of God in the relationship.
@sonnyh9774 the Lord laughs at what the state says when it thinks it can do anything apart from whom the state itself depends on and that will cease to exist like all other states that have come and gone.
@@SpencerRoyalcom Yes, I agree, but most pastors align themselves with the STATE on this issue because of a misinterpretation and misapplication of Romans 13. No, but most pastors and leaders don't really have a clue about STATE marriage and how it's not marriage at all. Case law says marriage is a contract between the STATE and two entities (excluding God completely). This isn't Biblical marriage. Biblical marriage is between one man, one woman and God (excluding the STATE). So, the STATE has taken an idolatrous position and church leaders don't even realize they encourage this idolatrous contract. The license is only about a hundred years old in the US and was designed to control interracial marriage. Now the church can't see the difference between the two. We have to be patient and gentle as we educate our brothers. Pride is kryptonite for men and church leaders struggle just as much.

As a Christian I ask, what "protections and benefits"? You're "recommending" fellow brothers and Christians I might add to allow themselves to enter an old institution, that has been revised time and time over again to no longer uphold what the bible states that marriage should be and signing them up to be financially ruined? Let's not even debate on how most, and I mean most, women are not a good bet for marriage, even when we bring science into it... Sure, God forgives our past, but we are products of this physical realm which must abide by the rules of physics and science as he ordained the structure of reality to be and exist. So if a badly programmed/undisciplined lady has been born again, does she truly deserve the ring? Is that a good enough risk when the science and statistics prove otherwise?
You are thinking and asking good questions. I'll address the last. She is a new creature in Christ.... learning and growing. She may need to heal past traumas. Hosea is our example of Christ ... our example. Hosea loved Gomer when she was a royal 304... having the babies of other men. Hosea was faithful to her until death which is a picture of God's faithfulness to us. God will love us in spite of our past, so God will give us the power to love someone else in spite of theirs. It's still your choice and I don't blame one bit for being cautious. My wife had childhood trauma and struggled with trusting me, and she took the kids and left me. I will choose to be like Christ and like Hosea even if that means I have to stay single. Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. If He tells you to marry her, then you will know. If the Holy Spirit doesn't want you to marry her, then He will show you that as well. She is still a daughter of the King and the King wants Godly men to take care of His daughters... even the hurt ones.
The pastor at church I’m thinking about joining just told me that the spiritual marriage that my husband and I had before our legal marriage was not a real marriage. I know what God did for us but it was still so disheartening
When it says give to Cesar what is Cesar, and we are also told marriage is a god given institution. since marriage isn’t Cesar’s that’s not something required. Also side question, let’s say you signed a contract to the government prohibiting you from marriage but then later on you want to get married but you can’t do it “legally” in the eyes of the government. Two types of covenant 1.God to man covenant- written in our hearts 2 - Man to man covenant - it should be signed. don't you know the law says until death, don't you see the contract there even though it be a covenant it is fulfilled by signing a contract Gal_3:15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. Don't you see the binding there. Neh_9:38 And because of all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, Levites, and priests, seal unto it. It doesn't, but that's shaky reasoning. You are arriving at the right conclusion by the wrong path. You just lucked up by arriving at the correct place. There are lots of things the Bible doesn't say, but the Bible doesn't have to explicitly say something for it to be true or relevant. The Bible never mentions "Trinity" or "Bible", nor does it condemn beastiality in the New Testament under the New Covenant. We have to reason through some issues and apply the Bible correctly.
What are your thoughts on this now? A larger percentage of marriages end in divorce and many women have initiated it causing men to suffer financially or lose custody of their children. Rulings are more in favor of the women even if the man is better equipped to care for the children and the wife isn't always in the right for divorcing the husband. I think a lot of women who divorce for the wrong reasons or don't hold marriage as final have made it harder for the women who want to be dedicated to get married both biblically and in the eyes of the government. It now seems that men aren't as afraid of marriage as they are of divorce.

Hi, where do you live?? I live in America
I think the government needs to stay out of marriage completely. Because government over steps their boundaries.

Q

Bible days taking a woman home and have sex IS marriage so YES
No , in Bible days if a man took and had sex with a woman they would then have to get married so that they weren't guilty of the sin of fornication. If sex itself created a marriage fornication would not exist and everyone would be married to the person they lost their virginity to.
You are in error! Your pastor did not Mary you, you are married first time you have sex. It is a covenant between a man and a women!
You are a 100% correct.
By that standard, a lot of people in the world - Christian and not - have many different spouses. That's not how God designed marriage to work.
I too think there are allot of extrabiblical practices people deem mandatory.

Being absolutely perfect is not the point. But you may want to consider if pride or a rebellious heart is the problem?
EVERYONE is corrupt and faulty before God! NO ONE is perfect!
The pastor is officiating a public witness of vows you make to God and declaring what you just did, so that ignoramuses like me will know what just happened. The pastor doesn't create anything new except earning a paycheck and posing for pictures.
What happened to following the law of the land? In Moses time, there were divorce papers. God is a God of order.

Why isn't the chirch providing an alternative to bypass the courts for a legal marriage blessed by God?
John 15:10 supports this “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.”
John 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”

The catholic church began conducting marriages in the 1600s. It was a family matter before that, agreement between 2 families.
Daniel 3:10-18
King James Version
10 Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:
11 And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
But, at the same time, it should be our choice to get the marriage license required by the government.
In all of history, what government hasn’t been corrupt and has the best interest in the people it serves?
Sure there is one thing you’re not considering, what about those of us who are disabled who if we get married could stand to lose a majority of our benefits. Put yourself in my shoes I have the love of my life and I want to marry her someday. And if I get a marriage license, I, or she, or we both could lose half to 75% of our income or one of us could lose all of it Do you think that is a good institution if it can cause that problem
I am in the same situation. But we are planning to marry next year. Perhaps only in the church but eventually legally as well. It's a stressful thing.
it is the church, the body of Christ that must determine matters of dispute and not government or legal institutions outside of it - for "shall we not judge angels?"
Of course, leadership overall has failed dismally in this regard to be obedient on this very serious matter.

Its a contract that doesn't work out in the man's favor. The monetary incentives aren't worth it.

John 15:10 supports this “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.”
John 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
He lost me when he said God given us the government 😂🤦🏾♂️
God gave us authority structure and systems of accountability. God did not give us corruption, tyrants, and oppressors. Those who abuse God's authority structure should be held accountable, but everybody knows that doesn't happen enough because people are abused by government officials on a daily basis. Government within the home starts with the father and the choice of the family to submit to his leadership whether he's a bad leader or not. It kind of cuts both ways which is why we have to become the best we can to effect a positive change starting in our homes. I'm preaching to myself here because I stink at it.
Me too
I am a Christian man.
If you’re starting your marriage preparing for divorce you need to take a deep look at your relationship and it’s probably not the right one

If you aren’t going to seriously answer my question (as I’m actually trying to learn here for my future) then please move on

Too many of yall focused on divorce and such... if the other person is the right one for you, you wont have those worries.
whatever... Uriah didn't have to worry about divorce either.... David had him killed, so he could take his wife. I said I would never.... and I fought it tooth and nail, and she still got her papers. And no help from the church.
I dont need government for marriage protection!
You just make agreement in writing ✍
How do you do this? Is this with a lawyer? A church?
If you have kids during the running of your business- so what - since when does anyone have to file with state to have a baby- you make it all in writing ✍️
Plat and tweak this idea to your hearts content
I've used this to be with a particular partner for short time spans or to "Try out" a partner...

Thanks for the question! We invite you to call in to the weekly broadcast or submit your #STRask question at www.str.org/broadcast.
Yes but the law of the land have to also line up with the word of God
Romans 13 1

Correction.... the government doesn't acknowledge it in the slightest but in appearance only. Case law says "marriage" is a contract between three parties: the STATE plus two entities (God is completely excluded). So, the STATE has created a new "marriage" and taken the place of God in the relationship.
@chrisleland5709 so when a government and legislation conflicts with the Lord's law whose law are you going to follow?

The state states that marriage is between two people. That's not a marriage. God states that marriage between a man and a women. Big difference
When it says give to Cesar what is Cesar, and we are also told marriage is a god given institution. since marriage isn’t Cesar’s that’s not something required. One thing you got to understand is that marriage is a covenant and we have two types of covenant.
COVENANT= To enter into a formal agreement; to stipulate; to bind ones self by contract.
Two types of covenant
1.God to man covenant- written in our hearts
2 - Man to man covenant - it should be signed. don't you know the law says until death, don't you see the contract there even though it be a covenant it is fulfilled by signing a contract

Where does it say that to be considered by God married, a pastor has to perform a ceremony or you need a ceremony at all?
Thanks for the question! We invite you to call in to our weekly broadcast to discuss your thoughts with Greg Koukl. He'd love to hear from you. Or you can submit an #STRask or Open Mic question. Visit www.str.org/broadcast for details.
1:30 What benefits and privileges do Americans in 2023 get from being married? I live in California and I’d truly like to know….
you get 3 square meals if you don't pay support and they will properly vaccinate and educate your children in the public indoctrination center if they don't approve of the parenting job you are doing. They only want the best for the children. Run... like leave while you can. The chineeese might have more freedoms than you do.
Well we get a lower income tax bracket but if you are smart you will find other ways to lower your taxes like I do! My wife works full time and makes the money mostly but I have free time to gather tax deductions
I’m also from California Los Angeles county but I’m in Florida now 😊
What are the protections and benefits?
Losing everything lol
