About Me:
Welcome to my channel! In addition to making flipbooks, I am a stop-motion animator and worked on the movies ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls, Kubo and the Two Strings, Missing Link, and Chicken Run Dawn of the Nugget. I fell in love with animation as a kid and have been doing it ever since.

He rickrolled us in the 2 seconds the video began.
I didn't even notice
Thanks for telling me I skipped it by ten seconds
Then I went back and saw it was a rickroll
Oof
5:12
appreciate you finding a way to share the unflippable flip books
Me too! Did you send a copy of the videos to the museum to add to their digital archives?

Repent and trust in Jesus. We all deserve Hell for our sins, such as lying lusting coveting and more. We can't save ourselves, but Jesus can save us. He died on the cross to save us for our sins and rose from the grave defeating death and Hell. You must put your faith in him only. He is the only way to Heaven. Repent and trust in Jesus.
Romans 6:23
John 3:16❤😊❤❤
@@christianweatherbroadcasti3491I don’t understand how this is related to the video 😅
I have been to this museum, they flipbooks were not on display, i never knew they had secret archives. You were very lucky to have got to see behind the scenes and given access, i do wonder what else they have hidden away.
I am so grateful to see someone share their passion with so much care with the world. Most of the time, if it is genuine and the circumstances supports, the world responds too. This response is magical. I thinks its what everyone should strive to live for. I find you very very inspirational Andy. The video where you share your first inspiration piece of flipbook with the teacher who inspired you was absolutely fantastic too.
Thank you 🙏 ❤️

@@andymation yea. ❤
Not only were they the first flipbooks, but the first animations as well, that's crazy! Also, the new flipbook kit looks awesome with the new box and screws, might have to pick it up and check it out.
actually caveman make the first animations 🤓
I can imagine in like 100 years some scientists are gonna be inspecting a pringles bag
BAGGGG?
8:37 I can see why the skeleton flipbook has survived 150+ years like that:
The skeleton has maintained his great shape with consistent jumping jacks. 💪
So jumping jacks are the secret to immortality
Goona do 3000% more jumping jacks
@MANTIS__DOES__STUFF I guess I'm dying soon.
Thanks for making it possible for us to see the moving flipbook features of these artifacts! It's so great to see the museum/archive working with you to achieve something that helps this artifact come to life for the public while also preserving it as much as possible for future exhibition.
Wow! Old flipbooks!
And they still have they’re shape!😮
"Kineograph", "Filoscope" and "Folioscope"; it looks that name the early flipbooks wasn't easy.
It's such a good thing you keep sharing with us your passion for the art of flipbooks, Andy.
we need more stuff like this i really found this video interesting keep up the good work 🔥🙏
Thanks 🙌
I agree with you, we definitely need more stuff like this.
Not going to lie every single videos you make feels like a master piece ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Yes asshile
This was truly amazing to be able to see. Thank you Andy
Looks like a full circle moment for Andy! Sometimes your efforts (for the artform), get rewarded in the most beautiful ways.
i loved visiting the media museum as a kid, it’s one of the things that got me interested in animation
So crazy to think that flipbooks have been thought of this long ago.
I don't know how it happened but I was moved to tears by this video, thank you Andy for sharing and for going and filming there, it's amazing and interesting content
Thanks!
@@andymation your womcome. 😂
Wow! What a great place. You must have been like a kid in a candy store. Thank you so much for sharing…and for doing the extra to show us the flicks. And thank you to Carol for showing you the depths of the archives. 🙏
Andymation was just in Bradford! I live literally right across the M62! Wish I could've met him
Wow those flipbooks are awesome. I love your flipbook kit too.
Well done, Andy! I learned so much. Thank you!
Woah! I wish I could see this flipbook in person!
This was so cool!!
Amazazing!
wow, this is a quite interesting and great museum! i hope i can go there one day and check it out! love the video :D
Thank you 🙏
@@andymation your welcome! happy to see that u replied! :D
This was so cool to see!
So simple, yet so magical!!
Flipbooks are just so amazing :)
i can imagine that 100 years from now your flipbooks will also be in a museum with this much care haha
Babe wake up, Andy posted
“The struggle is real” 🤣
This is fantastic. Thank you.
Massively fascinating! I love this stuff!
*As you put on the glove, blow into it. It'll make sliding your hand in easier.*
0:02 was the best moment
Wow! This made unexpectedly emotional. My grandfather had a zoetrope of horses racing and doing jumps that I used to play with growing up. It was stolen by another relative. I have mourned the loss of that item for decades. This brought back memories of him showing me how it worked by drawing some stick figures on the edge of a paperback, animating them in a crude but miraculous way, to my young mind. At 60 I still miss my grandfather a lot. So lovely to be reminded of him in this way. Thank you!
Awesome video Andy. Missed the video by a day, but I’m here 😊
This is so fascinating! Great video!
This was such a great look at the history. Thanks!
He Rick rolled us faster tha I can blink
Rickroll rap again?
Hey Andy, I love your videos keep up the amazing work
That was such an interesting video, i’ll be waiting for more videos like this❤
These are sooooo awesome!!!
So cool! Thanks. Interesting to see flipbooks in a media museum (now I wonder if my city's media museum also has a relics corner like that 🤔). Then it hit me. Although our flipbooks are animation... it could actually be seen as... the TV wonder of the poor back in the old days. It's a movie but in a different format. Never have seen it through that perspective. "The horse in motion" by Muybridge could also be said to fit this notion... although it is cabinet cards (photography).
A visit to the museum of the moving image in London may also be your cup of tea. I went there ages ago. And even watched The Seven Samurai on the big screen.
I love these
I love your channel😍
That’s so cool that you get to see all that in person? :) What a lucky, creative, intelligent man!
Super cool video. I wonder if when flip books were first used as an instructional video.
Amazing video! It’s so cool to see we only came up with this concept relatively recently. Also, it’s cool to see that you’re making some content while you’re over in Britain for Chicken Run 2, Andy! Jealous of those new screws in the flipbook kit. Also, when will the 8x paper be back in stock? Eager to pick some up to try out with my new Coptic markers!
Going to Bradford back in November through photography and cinema as a delight.
The world before the internet was not the world but hell
If you're interested in flipbooks in fiction, Elizabeth Hand's _Hard Light_ has a (hypothetical) paleolithic flip object-- a disk with an open eye on one side and a closed eye on the other, designed to be twirled with a string.
Es increíble la antigüedad de esos flipbooks , muy interesante y bueno 👌👍
Now remake them
Great video! May I suggest a gyro on your camera tho. Would make the video more enjoyable if its not jumping all around.

Me when I draw hands:
🤣
That was totally awesome! I really wish I could visit that museum but I don’t live in England. The flip books were cool and it’s amazing to be able to see some of the first flip books even if you didn’t get to flip them. What were your favorite things to see in the museum?
The gloves moment is gold.
I have made a lot of flipbooks with your flip book kit and have done stop motion and computer animation!
Well tablet animation
This is so cool wow!
This is so cool! It’s crazy to think they are over 150 years old!
Wow! I bet my father would be interested in this!
Kineograph just means moving image. Kineo is like kinetic (moving) and graph is a picture
Awesome vid keep it up
His skills are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love old visual tech I was always amazed by viewmasters and the like
I just got a notification for this video as soon as I tapped on it.
Learning about the history of flipbooks is so interesting.
I subscribed youre videos are verry cool keep it up👍👍
That was so interesting. I never really thought about the origin
i loveeeeeeeeee ittttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
This intro....is unmatched.
😁
Late to the party but this is what I really wanted to see in my life and glad I can see them now. :](although they can't be flipped)
I remember getting a flip book out of a cracker jack box back in the early 70s...back when cracker jack toys were cool
You should totally make a flip-book of a cereal break!
Used to go there in university when they had the animation festival, really cool place not been in a while
Bro this is dope
i heard something about an ancient toy in the stone age where there's a coin with 2 images and it would flipped with a thread and would create the illusion of movement
In 2012 and 2019 those vocals were inhuman 😂😂😂 she was born perfect 😊😊😊
You should do a video where you recreate the old flip books
We love Super Ted too.
The Mutoscope is a giant flip book so you should probably build one for your channel or get one and make a reel for it
i live so close to bradford i might check it out
0:02 He Rickrolled us in
is no one going to talk about how that skeleton is very "happy" :D
hehe i love the gloves part. i found a dog that i really love but my parents won't let me adopt him. i cried for like an hour earlier and this made me really happy. ❤
they brought back
😊The old Garbage patch kids
Flip books!
I’m a 2005 baby and one of my favourite movies as a kid was the super ted movie
I think it was the super ted in space episode
That’s amazing
❤ the Channel name Andy!
Nicceee🎉🎉🎉❤❤
Bro was struggling with those gloves🤣
Yes it is
Andy where that museum at??? I really wanna go there it looks pretty cool
Bradford England 👍
I must have said wow about 5 million times while watching this video
woah cool
I need that doll house sized camera in my life....
Right?!
I’d probably use it to make so many cool collages, also it’s just neat. They need to bring it back like they did with the Polaroid :)
@@fenrik8178 Yes, they totally should. I would definitely buy that. Coolest camera ever!
It's crazy to see what it was like over 150 years ago
You rickrolled us the video was verry cool 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
THIS IS SO C00L!
2000 years later Had me laughing😂
I've been to Bradford museum before twice
