supposedly maynard does the "not by the hair on my chinny chin chin"
Maynard and Danny were both part of Green Jelly before they formed Tool.
Maynard AND Carey were members of Green Jello which LATER rebranded as Green Jelly. Both bands remained CLOSE friends.
@@nucl3arboNg close... Green Jello, Green Jelly was a rebrand AND IF I am not mistake, and I am sure I am not, Tool was already formed and doing small shows by the time Green Jello rebranded to Green Jelly
The video for "The Three Little Pigs" was directed by Fred Stuhr (who also directed Tool's "Sober" video)
The band is still called Green Jello. After they were told to change the name, they changed to Green Jellÿ. The umlaut above the Y changes the pronunciation back to Green Jello.
Maynard sang the "not by the hair of my chinny chin chin" part.
Facts. I heard him say it in his book, A Perfect Union of Contrary Things. I recommend the audiobook.
This takes me back to 1993!! Here in Australia they are called Green Jelly, I own the CD single of it. Another great song of theirs is called *'Obey The Cowgod'*
LMAO! I used to geek out over this video back in the day. Back in caveman times, when MTV actually played, you know, music videos, I would wait and wait for this song to come on so I could record it on my VCR (yes, I'm that old!). I recorded this and many Beavis and Butthead episodes and would constantly watch this video with my friends.
Maynard does the falsetto "not by the hair on my chinny chin chin" part. Ok. You NEED to get to Steel Panther "Death to All but Metal" and be prepared to laugh.
Dudes!! My buddies opened for GJ a couple yrs ago. I was outside, chatting with some people, and I started broing it up with this couple with a kid. I asked, "are you fans, or band?" The answer was "fans" and I was like "hell, YUSSS!! *fistbump*"
After hanging out for a bit, they were like, "we gotta go, see ya later!"
I go inside to check out the next band, Green Jelly, and the dude-buddy from outside ran down the aisle, hops onstage, grabbed the mic, shimmied out of his pants to his underoos, and boom: it's the singer from the band whose CD Cereal Killers, was the first I'd ever owned. He even dragged me up on stage for the audience participation part of the show. It was BadASS!
Hell yeah that’s awesome green jelly is so much fun live! Bill is a badass
Whoop whoop! I saw that hatchet man tat XD much love to your channel. Love your genuine reactions
I LOVE this band and this song. Remember seeing it on MTV back when they were Green Jello.
So much fun!! I remember my dad showing this video to me when I was younger....now I show my kids. I have a good laugh with the wtf faces I get when I show people this video who have never seen it. ❤🤘
Bill does a cameo on NSFW by Psychostick. Another comedy group. Among Psychostick’s songs are Beer, Numbers which is a parody of Drowning Pool’s Bodies
Very cool to have Bill on the intro.
I wanna be Fred Flinstone by Green Jelly is a punk anthem tribute, "Cereal Killer" (pun intended) is a good song too
That whole album is fire. RnR Pumpkihn, Obey the Cowgod, Cereal Killer, Misadventures of Shitman, Anarchy in the U.K. Literally just stopped myself from typing every track.
That song is called ”Anarchy in the UK”. They changed the lyrics to be about anarchy in Bedrock.
Hell yeah. They came through the venue ( The Forge in Joliet) I work at a couple years back and killed it. Bill Manspeaker is awesome. It was a Halloween show and I kept scaring him with my costume. Eventually I found out he love the herb. A lot. Also my friend Shane got to play guitar for a few of their shows in Illinois and Indiana. It was one of the best times of his life. Thanks for doing this one guys.
Great Song brings bk memories of my youth. Little Fact On the song "Three Little Pigs" Maynard sang backing vocals (he sings the falsetto "Not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin"). Maynard is also mentioned in the song "Green Jellö Theme Song" in the lyric "Maynard, and Poopie-they're both insane!" and appears in the music video for the 333 album song "Slave Boy". #GreenJellySuxx
This was a tween staple! My dad's girlfriend & neice rewrote the lyrics as more of a parody & we all recorded it on cassette tape at a place in the mall!! 😆 Wish I still had it!
Yes dude’s ! I had a feeling that you would get to this song eventually! It’s fucking dope! You guys Gotta do “Momma Sed” By Puscifer. I can’t remember if you guys did the humbling river but if you didn’t you need to do that one too. Love watching you guys react to the good old Maynard James
If they ready for that trip they NEED to do Bullet Train to Iowa\ska/ 🚬 Puscifer
Had a real good friend who knew this band who passed away unfortunately, was going to get them to play a party of his. I miss my friend
Damn that was awesome. Thanks guys 😃
I have loved this song and video since it came out in my early childhood
They do some of the best LIVE shows. They also have the best band members from all over the world. Just genuinely good people having a good time.
Bill has franchise bands where fans in various cities are band members. But Danny was in the group from 1985 til Tool Started Maynard does the pig voice in falsetto on this song
I been playing Drums in GREEN JELLY for All Western Canadian Shows (I got passport issues) Since 2013 and it's fun, get blasted n have a great time...
aww man, brings back memories.. I had this album (the misadventures of the Shitman) on cassette back in early '90. :)
Green Jello put out a video tape where they made fun videos to every song on the album. Love Cereal Killer, Flight of the Skajaqueta.
Dude the fact that you got an actual member to do the intro is crazy
I've been waiting for you guys to do this one!!
Finally!! I’ve been waiting on this reaction for months! We’ll have you guys converted from rapping soon lmao! Spiral out guys
This is perfect! 100% truth
Didn't Danny Carey play drums for them for a bit?..
never evevevever thought i would see a reaction to this so thank you!!!!!!
Freakin awesome song and with Bill Manchester introducing it is pretty cool.
Hollywood must have had a big night of Drinking pulling out the Pedialyte and yes Danny was on drums for this
Having fun checking out your older posts!! Green Jello was VERY GWAR like in their stage performances, actually saw them with Rollins Band and GWAR once. Costumes and props for every songs, was quite a show and left the floor a total mess. Not quite the blood bath GWAR would blast us with but silly string and confetti everywhere wouldn't be an odd result. Thanks for the reaction fellas, it's a classic. Cereal Killer was another great one.
This was my first band I ever saw in 93. The "duh" tour. I was 11.
I used to play this video for my kids back in the day. When they were young. They are now in their mid-20s.
there is another version of this that actually shows the live stage show with puppets, which is what you catch a glimpse of at the end when it flashes to the live scene for a few secs. (you can actually see one of the puppets of the pigs on the right side @ 10:25.
My 8 yr old boy absolutely loves this song. Im a proud father😊
you guys are great, keep it going boys. you guys should check out Anthrax-Startin' up a posse.
I really miss all the creativity the 70’s and 90’s gave us.
Had a bad day...thanks for brightening it with your reaction! Awesome song and artwork in the video!
This is one of my favorite odd ball songs, just funny as shit!. Yo, smokedog, lovin' the shirt. Up the Irons bro!
Loved this song back in the day! Thanks for bringing it back to me.
Fellas i just want to say I got pumped a bunch over this hahaha, thank ya!!!
Yes!!! I'm the 100th thumbs up....zero down!
I forgot how good this song was. Brilliant
There’s nothing quite like a puppet show mosh pit at a live show.
I saw Psychostick and green jelly on a boat in the New York harbor about 10 years ago. A friend of mine is in psychostick and introduced my brother, two other of my buds and myself to Green jelly. They gave us all masks to wear( I wore a giant Elmo mask) and we were in the performance. Just moshing and doing whatever we wanted to do. The fuckin coolest guys ever. And I can say that I was in Green Jelly for an hour.
True story
We all knew this was gonna be fun.
One of the best of all time. They were on the Gong Show many years ago. You should check that out. Hilarious!
That`s great! You finally reacted to this song! I knew you would like it!
Dear Trash Talkers
Love your videos (particularly Tool and AIC). Please more Faith No More.
Sincerely, The Nation Of New Zealand.
Surpised you didnt mentioned your proud countrymen from Alien Weaponry.
Super cool guys and anyone havent seen that 2000+ Haká we did last year at Copenhell really have missed a lot of things..
Was fucking epic band
Obey the cowgod is hilarious, hell that whole album was hilarious!😆😆😆
Green Jelly's The Bear Song, Danny and Paul. It'll remind you of Swamp Song.
Y'all got me with this! I don't care who you are this song rocks!
Was not expecting you'd actually do this
Was not disappointed
Adam Jones did most of the claymation for them as well as guitar
Wow. I never made or heard of the connection between this song and Tool. That's SOME music.
Fuck yeah. I loved this song since I was a teenager. Check out The Misadventures of Shitman, or Flight of the Skajaquada
I'm glad you did a reaction to this song and enjoyed it the moral is the story is what sold it for me lmao
Yes! Finally, I'm so happy you guys are doing Green Jello, these guys were awesome
Thank you youtube for giving me the opportunity to remember this song
That was a fantastic reaction!
A little fyi, the person singing "not by the hair on my chinny chin chin is Maynard and Dany Carrey is one of the drummers on it as well!! And a suggestion I'd like to throw out is Day of New- touch, peel, stand it's a great 90' song also they have Shelf in the room!! Just throwing that out there..... one love y'all
This is my absolute favorite song of all time. No joke. I love, love, love it.
They made this band, to be the worst band in the world. And ended up with a hit song. It's hilarious.
Maynard talks about this in his book, A Perfect Union of Contrary Things. I recommend the audiobook.
@@mendyrckz76 read by a life long female friend. But he reads parts of it, for his voice. It's well worth it.
Little known fact that Bill Manspeaker was the inspiration for Tool's "Rosetta Stoned". He is the one who told the band about his crazy trip in the desert and Maynard took that and ran with it. Cool that you got a comment from him
I made up a song for my dog to another of their songs. Electric Harley House Of Love becomes: "The Ripley, is gonna rip your faaaaace! The Ripley, makes you reach for mace!"
I was in the 8th grade when this came out. It was all over MTV and everyone loved it. Still a silly, goofy ass song that rocks. Dem memories doe.
😂 excellent! Takes me back 🤘🏻
It's always fun when highly talented musicians use their immense talent just to mess around. I believe it's called using your powers for good.
It's actually still pronounced "Jello" even though it's spelled Jelly to get around the legal issues. The hold the world record for the largest band (781 official members) because they use people from wherever they are playing. Great article: www.news-press.com/story/entertainment/2017/12/05/green-jelly-still-suxx-punk-rock-puppet-show-visits-cape-coral-3-little-pigs-and-more/910300001/
This song is childhood. The single with Obey The Cowgod as the B Side was one of the tapes that was constantly on play while playing horse in the driveway.
I used to have the green jello cd before they had to change it. I used to play it at the skating rink to very mixed reactions... Mostly irritation but it was hilarious.
Man.. The Great Milenko is not a bad album and he has a piggy pie..and yes Maynard and Danny were part of Green jelly they are friends with Bill Manspeaker, at list i think they are..
I have the original cassette tape from when they were still called Green Jellö somewhere and they were always meant to be a comedy band. All members had funny aliases and disguises, kind of like GWAR, and the songs are all about weird shit like this one about the Three Little Pigs. There's one that sounds kind of like Motorhead's "The Ace of Spades" called "Obey the Cowgod" that's about how they don't eat cows in India, and another that's the Sex Pistols' "Anarchy in the UK" but about the Flintstones called "Anarchy in Bedrock." So yeah. Also, many people have already pointed out that Maynard is the one doing the Little Pigs' voice in this song, but it's actually more than one person. It's Maynard along with, believe it or not, comedian/actor Pauly Shore.
I was jammin with y’all through the whole song! If you like this, you might want to check out Psychostick, another comedy metal type of band. A good song of theirs to start with would be “Shower”
Hell yeah! My kids used to crack up at this video. Lol Especially the Rambo part! Yup, they definitely are my spawn, laughing at the crazy shit! And yes they were originally Green Jello but had to change for that exact reason. But Im sure you’ve been told that seeing this was 2 years ago. Damn! This is some good weed!
Hell yea I love Green Jello. I had the CD-VHS combo that had a video for every song.
Remember watching this on Headbanger's Ball!
Did you guys catch what was on the one billboard,it said "Her thing has teeth"!😆😆😆😆
I remember buying this on CD single when it came out LOL
Some old school 90s shit right there. Takes me back to when MTV was the shit. Liquid Television and all that.
Tunnel of Love!!!
Man I remember this video coming out on headbangers ball many many many years ago lol.... good times
The main thing I will say about Green Jellÿ (pronounced Jello) is that they’ve had a LOT of band members. Like a LOT. They’re most famous is Maynard who went on to form tool and a perfect circle. He was the guy in the bird outfit in their “cereal killer” video. He’s even referenced in a Green Jellÿ song. The other weird thing about the band is that they tried to form “franchises” of the band in different cities. Lol
My children played this song every week at the local bar 30 years ago.
In the off chance that you guys happen to catch this comment, this going back to 1995, see this reaction reminded me of *DINK GREEN MIND* going back to the content of this song in light of where we are today, one would almost have to ask themselves, "how did we get here?"
brings me back to younger days
I like that he still called his band "green jello." They had to change it due to legal threats from Jello. That happens when you have a song called "shit man."
You should check out alternative bands like : Guided by Voices (everywhere with helicopter) Butthole Surfers (cough syrup)
Millencollin (Truebrew)
Oh I recognize this song! My local radio station plays it but they never announce the artists.....
Aaand tooodaaaaaaayyyyy......🤘🏻Smoke Dogg cracks me the fuck up 😂
This song makes me want to check out the rest of that album.
Fuck yes. Idek how I came across this song but I’ve been listening to it for years now🤣🤘💯🔥
I never noticed that pink wall at 7:30 "pop in" before.
Saw them a couple years ago at a local dive bar/venue and it was amazing
The Rise and Fall of Green Jelly--- this you tube link has Maynard & Danny performing with Green Jello
An Estonian band named Winny Puhh (yes, "Winnie the Pooh" lmao) has an awesome cover of this. Of course, it's sung in Estonian , but that just makes it more of a trip lol
I played this song for my kids a couple of years ago. They looked at us like we were crazy. It was awesome.
Parenting done well
My dad used to play this to me when I was about 5-7 I relistened to this and I'm just confused to why they let me listen to this. Idk great song.
Play Loco by Coal Chamber for them..the video
Are the kids ok mentally
