What a treat, to spend an afternoon with Greg and his bookcase, and maybe a glass of wine. The hours would fly by. That looked a great book to showcase, now where’s my hasselblad
Thank you so much for introducing me to Michael Kenna’s work. It’s a real treat when you look at these books. One other comment, I love the quiet nature of your videos. I really dislike over the top presentation. Film photography can be about contemplation, thinking and being in the moment. Your channel is like an oasis in this world of confusion. Thank you for that.
Good evening Guys. Kenna reminds of Atget. Such a remarkably Talented Man ! It's so nice to see such a Wonderful Selection of A Great Photgrapher. And still using Film the ultimate Choice in True Photography. Many thanks and Kind regards Colyn. P.s. Please keep your wonderful videos coming.
As always, and as others have said, too long a time for a video from you guys! I haven't seen Kenna's work before - it is lovely! Have a good holiday season.
Thank you for another wonderful video. It might come as a surprise to you that you are driving the book market. I watched your video soon after it came out and decided to buy the book. I purchased it from Amazon USA and was told they only had 10 copies left. About 12 hours later, they are all gone. Well done you. Charlie from Virginia.
I enjoyed your video. Thank you. I’m an admirer of Kenna’s work as well and own a few of publications of his work. Quite but powerful; inspiring for sure. I attended an exhibition of his work a couple of years ago. He still prints his own work. And interestingly enough, rarely prints no larger than 10x10. The size of his darkroom prints is similar to what is shown in his publications. To be viewed at that ‘reading’ and intimate distance. I have occasionally seen him out an about. We live in the same city neighborhood. And in one instance, had Hasselblads in service in a local shop at the same time. He offers a yearly calendar through Nazraeli Press. Just picked up my 2022. I highly recommend it.
Thank you. What a nice book for the collection. I just picked up a used copy of “Photographers’ Paris, A Century of the City of Light,” I would highly recommend. Great video, thank you again.
Thank you for uploading another episode of Analog Insights. I have been looking forward to it! I first knew Michael Kenna when he exhibited some of his real prints in Gelatin Silver Session 2015 held in Tokyo as a guest artist. As Greg-san explained, he took many of landscapes in Hokkaido and all the prints presented there were from the Hokkaido series. I was so impressed by his simple but strong and atmospheric photographs. We could purchase his real prints by auction method at the exhibition but it's so shame that I could not afford it.
So Cool !!!! I just did a deep dive on Michael Kenna a couple of weeks ago .... Love his work !!!! So right up my alley ...... :D Ha ! , Made me want to do more 'long exposer work .... :D
It’s been way too long without a video from your side ! Wonderful intro ! Thank you 🙏🏾

Greatest photographer of our time by far.
Michael Kenna is my favourite photographer. All his images are incredible , but his Japanese and industrial images blew my mind.
I love Kenna's use of "warm" B&W tones. It's almost like a subdued sepia look. Adds to the timeless / retro feel of the images.
Thank you so much for introducing me to Michael Kenna’s work. It’s a real treat when you look at these books.
