Very as in VERRRRRRRRRRRRRY few nonBlack singers can hold a candle to Black singers much less hold their own while singing with Black singers. (Teena Marie comes to mind in that number.) This woman right here understood her assignment and he had to high five her mid-song. This woman right here did her thing.

For example, I’ve never seen a black opera singer who can compete with Luciano Pavarotti. Music isn’t black or white though.. everyone has their strengths, weaknesses and differences that make them unique
Nope. Leontyne Price, Jessye Norman... many Black opera singers have held their own. Opera is scripted. Blackmusic is ALL about musical spontaneity, creativity and improvisation and rarely do other people have that talent to sing along with Blackk singers because they don’t know where the music’s going and can’t think on their feet musically that fast. It’s like a Blackbasketball or football player breaking whiite opponents’ ankles because the whiite players have no idea where the Blackk player is going or what they’re doing next. This talent is talent outside of the box.

Doubt it! These young, lost souls are all medicated up because of depression and their one parent homes with no love are tearing up the world! They’re confused, running around screaming vulgarities. Not knowing who they are. Looking for a safe place all because of their insecurities! We won’t see those beautiful romantic songs with grown up sentiments ever again! Maybe not any time soon.

This is my third time watching this video. Can't get enough. It reminds me so much of the good old days. I just love how this lady sings and the guy is awesome too. The harmonizing is something you dont hear anymore. This lady's voice gives me chills. I want this type of music to evolve back.

She is INCREDIBLE. It’s so hard to harmonize that well right off the fly like that and she has a beautiful, exquisite vibrato and rich tone with powerful resonance. She held back a little even not to overpower him to much. I think they need to ask her to join their duo and become a trio because she took it to a whole other level.

I am back here a year later listening to this video. I am sitting here with the same reaction that I got when I listen to it a year ago. My mouth is wide open. I'm shaking my head and tearing up. The emotion that is inside of me because I miss that style of singing. I understand every generation feels and say the same thing. But my generation I feel we could actually sing. And the words that they wrote and the notes and music they could hit was just beyond awesome. I know I'm old school but I am very thankful of my generation with the music that came out of it. 💯❤️🤗
