  • Google Calendar is a versatile tool that allows users to create, share, and invite others to events. It can be accessed on various devices such as laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, and even smart refrigerators. Users can create appointment slots within events, which enables others to join and schedule specific time slots.
To create an appointment slot, users simply need to create an event on Google Calendar and select the desired options. This includes setting up focus time, marking out-of-office periods, and specifying individual tasks. The appointment slots automatically take the designated time and duration, with the default being 30 minutes. However, users can customize the time slots for shorter or longer durations. These appointment slots allow anyone to sign up for specific time slots within the designated timeframe.
When setting up events, users have the option to make them single slots or have multiple slots for multiple participants. For example, if organizing a study hall or rehearsal, users may want multiple students or teachers to sign up. The duration of the slots can be adjusted, and additional details such as title, dates, times, and repetition patterns can be added. Events can be set to repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or on custom schedules. Once the event is saved, users can share the calendar with others by providing them with a URL. By clicking on the URL, participants can choose an available appointment slot, enter their name, meeting location, and discussion description. The event will then be saved directly to the user's calendar, and they will receive an email notification confirming the sign-up.
