I swear Kingdom Hearts is an experiment on how overcomplicated you can make a game. Alternate realities, destroyed universes, evil shadows and heartless made by the lack of souls or the lack of hearts or whatever, keyblades, computer simulations, cultists, memory loss, keyblades used to fight and lock evils, great wars, and now time travel and multiple ultimate keyblade parts? Did I miss anything? XD
I just saw AntDude's notification on his review on this game. "I'll wait for Johnny's review" *Johnny notification after one second of saying that* "Well damn.
This is what happens when story writers INSIST that every game's story be related to one another. You get a giant mess of a story that has so many moving parts that none of them seem reasonable.
Except it isn't a giant mess, and that's a lie made by people who never even played the games. The story is really simple if you actually learn about it, of course you're not gonna understand if you don't try
When side games don't want to admit that they are side games and feel the need to do some unnecessarily complicated shit to stand out and feel important
Marcosatsu Yeah, if I'm going to be honest, that 2018 release date gets less and less unbelievable the more I think about it. The game's been in development since 2013, maybe even before. I don't know, I think it's possible.
To be fair to Ocelot, the whole "all part of my plan" thing was only started in MGS2 and makes way more sense compared to this madness in Kingdom Hearts.
I feel like Union Cross is just Nomuras team, essentially, 'getting all their ideas out as filler for there, kinda mmo.' Where Back Cover gives you the actual important bits that will most likely come back play in KH3.
The Final Title: Jump On Demand Presents: Kingdom Hearts & Knuckles: N-Sane Trilogy: Samus Returns Featuring Sonic the Hedgehog from Sonic Mania O K I B E L I E V E Y O U
Yup. That's the game that finally proved, once and for all, that Nomura has no idea what he's doing with the story and just makes it up as he goes along without much care for consistency.
He totally cares about consistency. That's why Mickey (somehow) loses his shirt right before closing the Heart of all Worlds at the end of 0.2...Just like KH1!!
I'd say half right. Yes I agree that Nomura does write things as the story goes along BUT not with Everything. Like the Nobodies have hearts thing, I believe that was planned WAY back. And hell, even Marluxia's plan in CoM must have some huge significance. The reason why I say that is through this question: "Who" is sleeping within Castle Oblivion?
In defense of the drop system, spoiler warning: Riku became a Dream Eater to Sora, and that's why they couldn't be awake at the same time. That doesn't give it an excuse for being good or bad, but it is the reason for its existence from a story perspective.
Diamonddeath Understandable, but it's still annoying when the gameplay quality drops because of some narrative bs. It would've been better if they simply just made it so that Sora and Riku's campaigns were handled like it was Chain of Memories (Without any of the BS that came from Riku mode).
You know, that drop system really does seem like it's more trouble than it's worth, especially considering that if you're too busy focusing on the battle at hand, you probably won't notice the meter running out until it eventually- *drops*
I love you and Antdude so much for that gag, and that moment where you're guzzling down coffee needs to be a gif or something. Also you know people are gonna keep counting games in the KH marathon until 3 comes out, right? That's gonna be one heck of a timeline.
if thats the case the casuals represent the 13 seekers of darkness and the hardcore fans are the the 7 guardians of light due to their sheer difference in numbers.
As if I didn't dislike the KH plotline enough as it was, now we're throwing time travel into the mix. It's weird, as a kid I never played the in-between games like Chain of Memories, so I was totally lost as the series went on, but now that I've seen the plot summarized for all the games? I don't think it would have helped me like it any better. It's so needlessly convoluted and ridiculous, it just makes getting from point A to B in the narrative a chore. I'm now fully caught up on the who, what, when, where and why, and yet I'm further than ever from being invested in any of it. *Sigh* Oh well, I'll still always remember how the series sounded and looked. It was beautiful and it had a damn good soundtrack that still brings a tear to my eye, even when I'm not invested in what's going on.
Because summaries leave out stuff. Just, play the games. They explain almost everything really well and it's so frustrating seeing people think the story makes no sense when It's really simple
@@Mqstodon The problems is not whether it's easy to understand or not, but whether it's interesting. Sure, it may be easy to grasp if you actually go out of your way to play every single game but, why would you do that? If the story is not interesting, if it doesn't grab your attention, why bother?
I think the story peaked with KH2. Terra was really dumb, Aqua's story doesn't get interesting until the last hour, Ventus is okay, Vanitas having no reason for looking like Sora was stupid, the X-Blade being named after a Greek letter that sounds way too much like "key" was also really dumb, and the opening spoils the ending to BBS before you even beat the game. The DDD time travel is beyond stupid and the Dream Eaters giving Sora and Riku abilities contradicts the reason they're taking the Mark of Mastery on top of being an unecssary way to make the game different from KH2 or BBS. Thrm taking the test doesn't make any sense either since both them have done as much as Aqua and then some without being Masters.
According to Tetsuya Nomura, the goal of Dream Drop Distance’s Story was, and it quoting him here, “to be as complicated as possible” you were totally fucked from the beginning Johnny...

I think the spaciousness of the worlds in DDD was because it was on the 3DS and the devs wanted people to experience the worlds with the 3D on. It's a stretch, but I know square enix loves showing off cool hardware tricks.
My personal rankings of the series from best to worst Story: 1. Kingdom Hearts II 2. Birth by Sleep 3. 358/2 Days 4. Kingdom Hearts 5. DDD 6. Re: Chain of Memories 7. Re: Coded Overall: 1. Kingdom Hearts II 2. Kingdom Hearts 3. Dream Drop Distance 4. Birth by Sleep 5. Re: Coded 6. Re: Chain of Memories 7. 358/2 Days Can't really rank them in terms of gameplay coz I liked something different about the gameplay in most of them.
Here's mine Story: 1. Xchi/Union Cross 2.Chain of Memories 3.KH2 4.Birth By Sleep 5.DDD 6.358/2 days 7.KH1 8.Re:coded Gameplay: 1.KH2 2.Re:Coded 3.KH1 4.DDD 5.Birth By Sleep 6.Chain of memories 7.Xchi/Union Cross 8.358/2 days It may seem very unnatural to some people but hey, we all got different sides and views.
Fulbright Gamer Glad to see someone else who really likes Re:Coded. While it probably is the worst in terms of the plot fitting into overarching story (frankly, I feel that the best thing DDD’s plot does is give Re:Coded some more relevance to the overarching story, but that isn’t saying a whole lot in the end for now.), I think the gameplay is genuinely solid. Definitely flawed (I hate the virus sections for code portals. It sucks when you are trying to get the rewards and you have to start all over again because overpowered enemies killed you, and you had to wager all your SP. And the FPS section of Hallow Bastion lasts for way too long) but still a fun time.
As a huge KH fan who loves the story I can totally see why you don't care about it, and I can easily agree about your other points, I hope you see this message because you made the best review of all these games and have a new subscriber.
Johnny has finally finished the Kingdom Hearts N.Sane Mania Returns & Knuckles marathon! Congratulations on getting through the marathon and here's to the next set of videos coming soon...(maybe).
I saw an ad for Coffee before the video came on, I'm watching a Some call me Johnny video. It was apart of his plan all along, he went into time and had this video only play ads referencing coffee
thank you for this marathon; as someone who has no interest in Kingdom Hearts I have loved watching all your videos on this franchise and hearing your thoughts on it.
And I thought Metal Gear's overarching plot was messed up. But that actually seems well thought out compared to this. And Xehanort? His body-snatching habits are worse than Sigma's.
When you referred to the game as "Triple D" I was thinking "oh shit, Double D from Ed, Edd n Eddy got an upgrade!" _Also I'm very curious as to what that shirt is your wearing..._
Great marathon Johnny. I ended up picking up the KH1, 2, BBS compilation on ps4 because of you and god damn I can't believe I didn't even bother trying this series until now. Thanks for introducing me to what's now one of my favourite game series.
I loved the Dream Eaters. I was always reminded of Pokemon Amie from X & Y. I never went overboard with the Dream Eaters, though. Just found a combo I liked and stuck with it. The Ghost Drive form Riku gets is insanely powerful, so I always had those guys equipped. Sure, in battle, ally spirits don't do a whole bunch, but that never bothered me. They were simply extentions of my abilities and I very much enjoyed replaying DDD on my PS4. Didn't even use the Balloon spell that much until I had to fight Julius.
I know you have thousands of people who feel this way, but I need to express my gratitude to you for all the quality content. Also, your intro is by far the best original intro on youtube
Probably not going to happen, but I hope Symphony of Sorcery makes a return in the series. There are still several segments from both the Fantasia movies that would be worth exploring, most especially the Firebird Suite.
You did it, John! Yo finished the Kingdom Hearts Marathon! Hopefully, the later marathons aren't as draining for you. As much as I love the KH series, I agree that playing through all the games with some of them being just average must've been tiring.
Definitely gotta agree with the criticism of the series' plot here. Every time they jam a new layer into Xehanort's grand plan it just undermines things even further. This is most apparent when looking at Xemnas' plan in KH2 - "use Kingdom Hearts to restore the lost hearts of the Organization members". Yet even in that game it was contradictory - not only did half the Organization deliberately turn themselves into Nobodies (or so we're led to believe), they're actually significantly more powerful than the vast majority of people with hearts now (and we were led to believe this was at least in part due to their transformations) and the whole "no hearts means no emotions" thing was already contradicted WITHIN that very game. But then you learn about Xehanort's past actions in BBS and new plan in DDD, and all logic flies completely out the window. Why didn't Xehanort's Heartless and Nobody work together? Why didn't Xemnas use time travel to bring his past self forward to handle the heart collection? Why did Xehanort make no effort to find (or make) new Organization recruits, if the need for 13 was so important? Why didn't he do literally anything to further the BBS plan to forge the X-blade? Then there's the problem with so many games being retreads and/or filler. It's like Square figures since they could get away with it for CoM, why not just do it ALL THE TIME? (Even though CoM had more plot development than any game other than KH1 or BBS, just jammed in between filler/retread worlds.) It really makes it hard to give a shit about the series. As for the gameplay... well, you've definitely got a bit of a different opinion than I do, but there's a good chunk of overlap too. I knew how Flowmotion was going to go from the moment I heard of it, and... yeah, it went about exactly as expected. KH2 style unnaturally open and empty worlds, a barrage of pointless treasure chests, combat largely feeling poorer for it. Implementing Flowmotion from the very start was a bad, bad idea - instead of being something the protagonists build up in pieces from world to world (much like Abilities in KH1/KH2) it's shoved in from the start and every world and enemy has to be "balanced" around it. Worlds are excessively open. This works with the Fantasia world; a magical world of big, lush environments. Also for The World That Never Was, as the "empty" feeling these wide open spaces give is thematically appropriate. But it feels jarring in Traverse Town, going from the small KH1 areas to the massive spaces everywhere else. And it makes the rest of the worlds feel... well, just like filler. A problem that was ALREADY being caused by the plot. This was really frustrating with the Tron world, which had a lot of potential for having Sora pursue the restore-Rinzer plot while Riku followed the movie plot, only to abort Sora's plot and kick him on to the next world. Yeah, great, glad I could dick around in those giant, pointlessly flashy environments in order to ACHIEVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Bosses are set up so that Flowmotion is less effective against them (moving too much for the flashy attacks, hitting you too hard during the windup, or the boss arena just not having convenient Flowmotion launch points), and when you finally move away from Flowmotion to late-game powerful attack skills... it doesn't feel like an upgrade. And good lord, the Drop system. I loved the timer in Majora's Mask, which actually affected the whole world (drastically less so outside Clock Town, but even so). This one, while it never actually caused me any real grief, was still bullshit. The entire plot potential was COMPLETELY wasted outside of Traverse Town and TWTNW, and in a game where all other worlds already felt like pure filler (or ABORTED PLOT LINES) there was just no reason to do this instead of combining the duplicate worlds and giving the players one, more complete, run through of each world. At least make the Drop shuffle between Sora and Riku in the SAME, ACTIVE world - with workarounds for the bosses, like maybe some FF7 final boss style encounter where each group takes a turn fighting the same boss. All of this sort of stuff combined, and I'm really not at all excited for Kingdom Hearts 3. I'm not even sure I'm INTERESTED. The first game was a wonderful mix of great story, great gameplay, great design all around... KH2 did worse in every aspect except gameplay, but the improved combat design was dragged back down by the terrible difficulty balancing, turning Sora into a no-effort murder machine through either Reaction Commands or a ridiculous amount of stacking white attack modifiers, and having all the levels be wide, empty hallways. BBS fared a bit better, but every other game was just considerably worse, constantly being jammed full of filler and having stupidly experimental concepts replace parts of their predecessors. I look towards KH3 and I don't think "oh man, I can't wait!"... I think "what are they going to butcher or get weird with this time?"
I mean KH3 is relying more heavily on the Disney elements, and tying them to the overarching plot similar to 1. The gameplay also seems to be taking most of its cues from KH2. Idk, seems like there's still a lot of great looking things to be interested in regarding 3 despite the story likely still having time travel shenanigans.
I never picked 2.8 up. I don't have a PS4, and I couldn't really imagine buying 2.8 even if I did; I already own and beat DDD on the 3DS. As for KH3... honestly, I haven't been following it at all. I followed KH2 really hard back when that was a thing - I still remember when Roxas was "BHK". And I was really disappointed by how overhyped that had made me for the game. I'd been looking forward to the mechanics of having two protagonists, I'd been REALLY looking forward to resolving the considerable amount of plot threads and character arcs left dangling from CoM, I'd been looking forward to some of the amazing looking fights like the early concept for the 1000 Heartless one... and we get Roxas as a tutorial-only character, the CoM plot threads tossed in the ditch with no regard, a general lack of connected plot across all the worlds, and not only a severely watered down 1000 Heartless fight, but an incredibly low difficulty even on Proud Mode, with only a few standout bosses that weren't even that fun - because using magic/summons was normally a waste of resources rather than a useful mechanic, so you were only trying them out for real DURING the fights. (A low-level playthrough I did later WAS incredibly fun, though, and actually required me to use different Drive forms, summons, and spells depending on the fights. Two bosses that stand out - Jafar was ridiculously hard, and I couldn't beat Barbossa without Wisdom Form.) Ever since that letdown, I've made sure to never closely follow a game's development again.
Nyzer for me jafar wasn't that hard. Just had to time the right time to use and trigger the reaction commands. Barbossa for sure I'll agree is fun. I definitely am surprised by your comments on wanting Roxas to have had a more substantial playable role, most people seemed to have wanted Sora and only Sora. But yeah back to 3, yeah most of the stuff being shown seems promising, and they're relying a lot more on the Disney aspect of it finally.(Disney is being more on hands with it to be fair, so that makes sense.) a lot of the Disney worlds seem to have story relevance to the ongoing arc, similar to KH1, while the gameplay is more of a hybrid of 2/BBS(with no command deck stuff) 0.2 is a decent way to get an idea of the game, and even Johnny found himself loving that title despite its short length. Yeah there'll be the time travel and dumb stuff brought up, but for once, if 3 can deliver on all the other fronts and deliver fun separate story arcs and character interactions, I think most people can get over it and just enjoy the game.
Story: CHAIN OF MEMORIES: Greatest personal stakes for the hero, Riku's character development. Mystery and hope. Great non-xehanort villains. KH2: Closure and ending, grand stakes, sacrifices with payoff, but very nonlinear storytelling. KH1: simple and clean storytelling. Disney is a bit more involved. 358: The manga is better. The only reason why it's ranked higher in story, is that people like the roxas tutorial retelling. The story pacing is by far the worst out of all of them. CODED: I got some emotional investment towards this kh1 retelling. One of the weakest stories. BIRTH BY SLEEP: potential new characters, most easy to understand story, but Xehanorts obvious evil, very idiotic decisions, and avoidable downer ending drags this plot down really hard. DDD: Villain sue Xehanort hijacked the series, undermined *everything* KH related, time travel plotholes, while being the least straightforward story. The absolute worst story that killed my interest until maybe KH4.
Aren't the seven lights the Keyblade warriors? Sora, Riku, Kairi, Mickey etc? Also we don't need to forget the plans of Ansem, Seeker of Darkness and Xemnas, if one of them succedeed there would be no need for the story of Dream Drop Distance to happen. Just because the antagonists cannonicaly failed, doesn't mean the stories in those games are worthless. I personally love how overaching the story is and how it manages to encapsulate so many games, and I don't deny the fact that this wasn't planned from the beginning - it's great how they managed to make it so that everything in the previous games was connected somehow.
GreyouTT No it's not a FF world. I just looked it up, no Radiant Garden is in FF8. So it's not a FF world. Also it was already confirmed there won't be a FF world in KH3 in a interview.
Great review, Johnny! The best part was when you fell asleep and AntDude woke up (and also when you drank coffee while flipping off the Drop meter just as it was counting down). 😂 So far, _Dream Drop Distance_ is the only game in the series I’ve ever played. The main attraction for me was the world based on _The Hunchback of Notre Dame_, given that that is my favorite Disney movie.
what a crazy marathon I actually feel like I kind of understand the story now and I haven't played any of these games that's how good Johnny is at explaining things
7:39 I'm sorry, John, but nobodies were hinted to have hearts as early as KH2, and the entire point of Days was just screaming this to the player. It's not a retcon or plot twist, it was just build up until they finally decided to flat out say it. I don't blame you if it did catch you off guard though, because you didn't really care that much about the story anyway.
No, kh2 was about them wanting heart's and 358/2 was just a way to milk some of that roxas sadness. The only reason this exist is because Nomura was doing what he does best. Explaining things that already had a perfectly adequate explanation.
Kingdom Hearts killed me once they started dropping shit after 2. Would've rather they gone the Final Fantasy route where they have different characters in different universes with similar creatures and magic (like everyone being keyblade users, but from different universes) with a simple enough story. but uuuugghhh everyone needs continuity today apparently.
Nukara Rikova BBS is all i can appreciate honestly. Its just man this series has dragged on for so long I can only care about Sora for so long. Now its just a wait for Sora to reach godhood because square enix writing.
Nukara Rikova oh yeah I'm definitely the minority of this series. I have no idea how so many people can still want so much more. Its just my completionist attitude just really wants me to finish this series and be done with it. Maybe have some discussions with friends over dinner about how we felt about the game and that's it. Then I just wait another 20 years for Final Fantasy XVI in hopes it wont be ass like XV (i'm digressing now)
@@Zendoheim Why do you saying like wanting continuity is a bad thing? The dumb thing about Final Fantasy is that you expect me to believe that each game takes place in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE UNIVERSE or WORLD but yet the monsters and spell names are the same. Gotta really make sure that your audience is playing a FF game I suppose.
kingdom hearts is one of those series that i like to look at from afar. learning all the lore and character stuff is interesting and the fact that some of the characters are as deep as 2-ply toilet paper doesn't matter because if i only see small tidbits of cutscenes they're in i can pretend they're more interesting then they actually are. yaaayyy!!

Thank you so much for this retrospective. KH II was the last one I played, right after release, when I was 16. I lost track entirely of what is actually going on. Now I can dive into KH III when it comes out in 2019 and won't miss a beat. Again Thank you so much. Arceus bless you.
this series has a rabbit hole so long that by the end of this it will put metal gear to shame. keeping track of it all is time consuming, frustrating even and frankly, mentally exhausting not to mention extremely unforgiving in terms of accessibility if someone's looking to get into it in ANY sort of detail. shit like this is like a life commitment and many people just don't have the time or energy to invest into something this insanely convoluted.
I got the 1.5+2.5 pack on ps4 right after Johnny started the marathon, just out of sheer curiosity, and because of that I got to experience the magic of 1 and 2, and the confusing story with all the other games (bought DDD a few years back, but never finished it/didn't know what was going on), and for that Johnny, I thank you.

What was your reaction when antdude appeared in the video
ChrisTheFox My reaction was like. Wait... WHAT!!! 😂
This is what happens when story writers INSIST that every game's story be related to one another. You get a giant mess of a story that has so many moving parts that none of them seem reasonable.
oh shit it's Greg!
Not necessarily no
Except it isn't a giant mess, and that's a lie made by people who never even played the games. The story is really simple if you actually learn about it, of course you're not gonna understand if you don't try
When side games don't want to admit that they are side games and feel the need to do some unnecessarily complicated shit to stand out and feel important
@@Mqstodon It is lol
Can't wait for your review of Kingdom Hearts 3 when it comes out in the next decade
It’s already been confirmed for 2018
Marcosatsu Yeah, if I'm going to be honest, that 2018 release date gets less and less unbelievable the more I think about it. The game's been in development since 2013, maybe even before. I don't know, I think it's possible.
Nomura has said he is confident n the release s i think we should "try" to take his word. Besides, KH games have NEVER been delayed (apart from 2.8).
Five years a very reasonable amount of time for an RPG's development cycle. So 2018 really is a realistic release year. People are just in denial.
DetectiveEthanaterSpiritOfBobbyFulbrightGamer Even then, 2.8 was delayed for a whopping 2 months. Same with FF15 (Versus XIII not counting)
"Notre-Dame and The Musketeers worlds looked pretty similar"
Why yes, they both take place in France...
that's exactly what I was thinking XDDD
And don't forget Beauty and the Beast.
True, the country of France *does* have one look
So everything that's happened up to this point was all part of Xehanort's plan?
Anyone else getting some Liquid Ocelot vibes here?
All Xehanort needs now is a pair of revolvers, and a replacement arm. But for all we know, he probably already has those.
To be fair to Ocelot, the whole "all part of my plan" thing was only started in MGS2 and makes way more sense compared to this madness in Kingdom Hearts.
rico anderson Prob because the writers of MGS2 knew wtf they were doing.
Oh my dear Johnny. . . just get into the kh X games and watch Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover and your mind will hurt so much.
Its not that confusing. Union Cross however is a different story but Back Cover is pretty straight forward if you ask me.
I feel like Union Cross is just Nomuras team, essentially, 'getting all their ideas out as filler for there, kinda mmo.'
Where Back Cover gives you the actual important bits that will most likely come back play in KH3.

Nukara Rikova No he is right.
Wouldnt that be Ventus?

To writers everywhere: STOP USING TIME TRAVEL AS A NARRATIVE FRAMING DEVICE
Flame of Udun they can use it unless they don't fuck it up. Life is strange is a game that didn't fuck up time travel
Or Fire Emblem Awakening. That I felt did a decent job.
Time traveling is so easy to fuck up. Unless you perfectly establish the rules of your specific version of time travel, DON'T DO IT DAMMIT!!!XD
Hey at least it won't be apparent in Xchi (Supposedly). Actually though i seriously doubt that it will.
Hmm? This story isn’t complicated enough...I know! TIME TRAVEL!
What a pain
Time Travel = A fucking cop out
You know, that drop system really does seem like it's more trouble than it's worth, especially considering that if you're too busy focusing on the battle at hand, you probably won't notice the meter running out until it eventually-
*drops*
I love you and Antdude so much for that gag, and that moment where you're guzzling down coffee needs to be a gif or something.
Also you know people are gonna keep counting games in the KH marathon until 3 comes out, right? That's gonna be one heck of a timeline.
Say it with me now: TIME TRAVEL IS BULLSHIT!
Time travel is not bullshit
Here i said it with you
I'm glad that I played through the series over 9 years
The fabled war is not of the Keyblade War, but rather the war between casual vs hardcore Kingdom Hearts fans.
if thats the case the casuals represent the 13 seekers of darkness and the hardcore fans are the the 7 guardians of light due to their sheer difference in numbers.
Two of my favorite youtubers posted the same game video at the same moment in time, fuck it was difficult choosing which to watch first
As if I didn't dislike the KH plotline enough as it was, now we're throwing time travel into the mix.
*Sigh*
Oh well, I'll still always remember how the series sounded and looked.
@@SmashSSL nothing is interesting If you don't try to understand It.
@@souza885 DMC, Bayonetta, and such.

Thats a terrible writing goal, even if he made the story like that on purpose that doesnt make it good/ passable in any way...

Glad to see someone else who really likes Re:Coded.

And I thought Metal Gear's overarching plot was messed up. But that actually seems well thought out compared to this. And Xehanort? His body-snatching habits are worse than Sigma's.

I absolutely adore the plot twist in kh ddd. It all makes (almost) perfect sense if you pay attention to the details and use your head
Or they can not involve time travel?
AW SHIT BOIS, THE KINGDOM HEARTS STREAK IS BACK ON
“We’ve arrived at our last stop for the Kingdom Hearts marathon”
DAMMIT
(Even though CoM had more plot development than any game other than KH1 or BBS, just jammed in between filler/retread worlds.)
It really makes it hard to give a shit about the series.
What about 0.2? How do you feel about that game?
Two bosses that stand out - Jafar was ridiculously hard, and I couldn't beat Barbossa without Wisdom Form.)
Ever since that letdown, I've made sure to never closely follow a game's development again.
Ah, good ol' Kingdom Hearts 3 Part 1.
Story:
CHAIN OF MEMORIES: Greatest personal stakes for the hero, Riku's character development.
So uh...
Opinion on KH3, both story and gameplay-wise?
KH3 needs a TWEWY world
Probably wont happen. There won't be. An FF world so i doubt there will e a TWEWY one either.
Radiant Garden is an FF world though. It's a garden from FF8.
GreyouTT No it's not a FF world. I just looked it up, no Radiant Garden is in FF8. So it's not a FF world. Also it was already confirmed there won't be a FF world in KH3 in a interview.
Thanks for doing the whole series! It was a wild ride, but it was a fun one regardless. Excited to see new reviews!
Great review, Johnny! The best part was when you fell asleep and AntDude woke up (and also when you drank coffee while flipping off the Drop meter just as it was counting down). 😂
So far, _Dream Drop Distance_ is the only game in the series I’ve ever played.
The kingdom hearts crash insane mania return of samus jump and KNUCKLES CHAOTIX marathon

Ugh, I hate it when a game just shits on the other games that came before. That, and time travel does NOT make for good plot devices 9 times out of 10
that drop skit was so damn perfect oh my lord
7:16 and I thought the best joke of this marathon was birth by sleep with the card shit.
You can tell Johnny wants to get to reviewing Mario Odyssey.
He didn't even prepare a cup of coffee for the beginning of the video
Also, looking forward to the Sonic Forces stuff both here and on BSC :)
Giving the Drop meter the bird is 10/10 content. Fantastic.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the reveal that Riku is apparently a Dream Eater. Even when I first played this game, that had me scratching my head.
