- I had some time to kill whilst in Brentwood, Essex, over the hot long weekend, and I've always been past these ruins in the middle of town but never filmed them. Always wanted to, so here it is.

As always Tom, your history vids are awesome!
Thanks for your time in sharing mate. Take care, Steve. 👍👍
Enjoyed, Thanks
Hi Tom, I have been past it many a time but its good to hear of its history, very interesting.
Nice one Tom!
There is a good picture of the chapel, when it was a school in Buckler`s 'Twenty Two of The Essex Churches.'
A good presentation. Tom You do not mention the Boy Martyr, William Hunter, who is included in Fox`s Book of Martyrs. There is an obelisk memorial to him, near 'Wilson`s Corner traffic lights which is the intersection of the former Pilgrim`s Way ,leading to Canterbury.
hence William Hunter Way! I'll have to check it all out once the lock down is over, that's fascinating, cheers.
Short and sweet with yet lots of history. Well done Tom.
Very interesting 😊 thanks Tom ATB Dave
William Hunter was burned to death in an area which was formerly The Shhoting Butts in Ingrave Road. The ancient oak tree, near the place where he met his death, survived into the twentieth century. A new tree was grown from one of its acorns.Sir Antony Browne of Weald Hall, endowed Brentwood Grammar School, to appease local people, who had been shocked by the action taken when the young man would not recant. The night before his death, he was held at the old Swan Inn, at the far end of Brentwood High street. It has since been rebuilt. As far as I am concerned, Hunter was no heretic, and' Bloody Mary Tudor', had a lot to answer for !
Love the history, nice editing on the video.👍
