I've been listening to this back in 2011 and got so in the zone of something, that this was a totally new musical experience for me. Here I am, 11 years later and haven't found anything that comes close to this album. I really like most other CBL stuff, but this album - not so much the remastered version - just is in an own league.
Euphotic: "We grow green/light's rays have got us blooming "We fall down/and soon we will stop living" My guess as to what the lyrics are saying. Does anyone know what they really are? Seems to me like they are describing the lifecycle of the photoplankton and other plant lifeforms in the euphotic zone, that critical top layer of sea water where light can penetrate and photosynthesis can occur. I'd love to know the real lyrics--the ones on the song lyric sites don't even seem close. Great song/great album, man [:-{0>
Do you know the definition of the word euphotic? The euphotic layer is the layer of ocean water in which enough sunlight filters down to allow for photosynthesis to take place. So it's the place in the ocean where plant life is possible.
@@Ambient_Scenes The euphotic zone also exists in freshwater, so my guess would be that all aquatic lifeforms are meant. Anyway, the vibe is quite clear, noe matter the details :)
I personally think that there is nothing comparable to Carbon Based Lifeforms, at least in regards to the depth and mysterious magic that they capture in their music. It´s the most direct translation of the wonders of the universe for me.

I am commenting on a musical album, which is very tranquil, peaceful, and relaxing. Why are we suddenly discussing world economics, and doom? I feel some people need to find a more appropriate venue for their views, so they REALLY can discuss their thoughts with others who are in that mindset. Peace....
