There is as much interest in little Leo here as there is in Yacht Syndication so Zaya has started an Instagram account for him - Leo.luckyfish and she does post regularly to it. Looking forward to bringing you some new sailing video's soon, Stew Zaya and Leo xxx
You'll make a fantastic "Syndicate Master" Stew, as I'm sure you've got the operational procedures masterfully engineered so as to keep it under control. Are you gonna be doing an "in depth" series, or "sub-series", documenting your syndicate's startup, shakedown (in the boating sense!), and ongoing operation? Is there ANY other example of such a topic in any other "sailing channel"? Great opportunity for your family (and the rest of the syndicate) to grab a very nifty UNIQUE niche on da YoobzToobz..!! :) Please do continue to be an inspiration to us striving wannabees in the sailing/finance/family/fun arena with your life-engineering skills and always thought provoking (and crazily fun) vids. Nā mahalo a me aloha nui loa īa ʻoukou (you guys, but especially Leo, because BABY!). 🤙
Thanks Alapiko and yes we will be sharing the syndicate story as it unfolds. I'm sure this is a great solution for a huge number of would be sailors out there its just not widely published on UA-cam. A little like the Wharram story when we started out. So that makes it worth doing in my view. thanks again for your encouragement. Much appreciated. Stew, Zaya and wee Leo
People pay huge for their dream boat. Average use is 200 hrs a year for average people in the first year! 50 for the second year and down to 20 to fourty hrs a year!!! Four or five CAREFULLY chosen partners is a win for all co owners.
Yes. We have read statistics along the lines of between 12 and 25 days use a year, average. So, similar to the numbers you're proposing. That's staggering! Carefully chosen partners who agree to carefully worded terms and conditions, including a well funded boat maintenance fund, are key to a syndicates success. Thank you for your comment and we look forward to sharing how things develop in our syndicate. Cheers,
yes, prepping the boat for solid year of cruising with four co-owners utilizing the yacht to the fullest extent. Each owner can use the yacht for 6 weeks in the high season and 6 weeks in the low season. Cheers
@JOHN SHOUREAS You commented "I herd that 7 people have already bought 1/4 each of your boat. hahaha" - Not sure if you are joking but this is a fairly serious accusation. Some timeshare schemes became notorious for this kind of fraud. As the video clearly explains in the opening minute or two, timeshare is NOT co-ownership. Do explain how 7 owners could have a 1/4 share on a title deed?
@@SailingLuckyfish Can you certify me, or do I need to do that before sailing with you? Do you "certify" everyone who sails with you? Just poking fun here. Stewart, I have the greatest respect for you, your accomplishments, and the family you have created. If I had adequate finances, I might be doing something similar. There is something deeper between us than the quantity of "money". You may not believe this, but I have an aversion to traveling to many places in the World because, as a Christian American, I am not willing to sacrifice, hide, or even postpone ONE SINGLE aspect of what I believe God has given me. People give up their God-given "rights" every day, all the time, so that they can - what? I refuse this. The Constitution of the United States GUARANTEES ME, as a person certain INALIENABLE RIGHTS, which are specifically written to come from GOD. Too much of the World does not permit these RIGHTS for EVERYONE, and Oh heck, how can you certify me, if you aren't certified yourself? Blah blah blah. I wish you the best, and you, and yours, will always be welcome under my roof.
30,000 is good value. I’m guessing you could have sold her for more than 120,000 outright. 60% of replacement cost. Not sure why you go through all this just to end up partners on newer bigger boat. Could have stayed with LF and saved a lot of hassles.
I hear you and yes it has been alot of extra time and expense to set up the Syndicate Agreement and fully understand how they work. I have come to believe in the benefits of co-ownership for folks who dont cruise full time so that is part of the reason for going this route. We wont be in a position to fund ProjX solely so that is another reason also. Glad to see you guys on the water at last and heading south to warmer climes!
It's not a sales pitch. There's more than one way to skin a cat...amaran. :) (you probably don't get it) Stew is explaining a creative alternative to sole ownership or the often disastrous friends partnerships. It's boat ownership at a quarter of the cost. His life has changed and this is how he is adjusting. I find it inspirational. Stew figured out a way to continue his dream and is sharing it with us. How can you twist it into something it's not? Btw, I'd bet the farm this is the first time Stew has been accused of being a high pressure salesman. 😂😂😂😂😂 Think positive thoughts and smile. Life can be good with a little effort. Thanks for sharing your ideas, Stew. 👍👍👍
I'm sorry. We had someone else say the same thing. Sounds fine on our equipment. Weird. Anyone else hear the squeal? Should we take video down and clean up the audio? Cheers
You sure it's not coming from your hearing aids? My 101-year-old mother sometimes has the same problem, or she can't hear what you're saying at all :-).
@@SailingLuckyfish I didn't hear anything abnormal. Edit... listened again closely at higher volume on my phone and there is a sound similar to ringing in the ears. Probably more pronounced using earphones or for people with tinnitus.
Hey Stew, I watched/listened first on my iPad ( didn't notice squeal) and after reading the comment I listened with my iPods. There is a high pitch squeal while you are speaking. When you cut away to video of sailing with music or with the baby, no squeal. I hope this helps with future productions. 👍👍👍
interesting, so you just confessed here that you preyed on people you regarded as stupid in Thailand. And despite these 'qualifications' you still don't understand the fundamental difference between timeshare and co-ownership. Do tell us more.

Shared ownership sounds like it solves many a boat owner’s problems!
Very smart stew.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didnt you just say you will be on the boat in December for a year?..maybe clarify that a bit more.😉

This is something totally different than greedy timesharing 👍
no sueal here,- would still like an update on family
Hi Rick, will try for something next week. Meantime Zaya is posting Leo pics on his Instagram account Leo.luckyfish cheers

Did you get any solid information about co-ownership that you were previously unaware of?

Not really. Although I think you might be a little slow. What part of co-ownership don't you understand?
