A Travel through the Panama | gulf documentary

This works in conjunction with the Panama Canal, which links the Pacific with the Atlantic Ocean. The journey by train is a famous tourist ride.
Although far older than the famous canal, it was never recognized by the Panama Trail Road. The first train to run from coast to sea was the first to fly through the Isthmus of Panama in 1855. However, only four decades later, when the US opened a road connecting the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, its importance was lost. A journey along the old line is a pleasure to visitors today.
The Panama Canal has been of great value to the Central American economy ever since it was opened for commercial operations in 1914. Eighty-two kilometres wide, which would mean that the products could be transported even further from the Atlantic coast into the Pacific coast. The canal was operated by the United States between 1914 and 1979. It was then managed jointly by the US and Panama for two decades and Panama was granted full power in 1999.
