Use a q-tip dipped in plain alcohol to "clean up" any mistakes before you seal these. Works like a charm!
loved the video- i have nevered worked with decals or transfer paper.
just a tip for cheap transfer tape...I use the contact paper found in dollar tree. its a large roll for $1 and lasts me forever especially since I reuse the same piece! :) love your video!!
Julie so glad to see you back doing craft videos! I loved your series of "Flowers".....
Thank you Diane!!
Julie Walters
These are beautiful!!

your new subbie 😊
So lovely..don't you have to seal it?
Love the use of decal. Do you know if Stazon ink can be used on the surface? I just learned your method of applying alphabets. Do you have a separate videos ok n how to use decals and transfer tape? Thank you so much for sharing.
Amazing!!! I will be trying these for sure. I did subscribe to your channel also. Can’t wait for you next video.
That was brilliant!
Thanks so much for sharing this.
I had the idea of using vinyl to resist alcohol inks to make some Christmas baubles but wasn't sure it would work. Now I know it will so thank you.
Do you think I still need to seal it with the Crystal Clear if they are only going to be out for a few weeks each hear hanging on the tree?
I guess it's best to do that to be safe but a tad nervous of doing that on a sphere and not ruining the whole thing.
Anyway thanks so much!
Been searching to see if anyone used vinyl for this and eventually found your video.
Can't wait to try this, thanks for the video. Do you by any chance remember what font you used for your "W?" Thanks!
Great tutorial
How many layers of acrylic sealer do you spray on your tiles?
you should try putting straight 91% alcohol on a qtip to remove the oops area
great project!!
Does it seal enough to sit a ice glass of water on it or a hot cup
Hi! Can you just pour the alcohol ink on the tile? Or do you need to put on the Applicator ?
I'm curious if these need to be sealed and if so what would you use? They are beautiful! TFS!
Yes, I mentioned in the video that you should seal them other wise the alcohol inks will rub off. I would suggest this its called Krylon Crystal Clear: amzn.to/29NWN5i . I will add this link to the description as well :) thanks for watching!!
Pretty Cute Planner if I don't have a way to make my own vinyl letters do you know of a place to buy them ? Please help ! Maureen
I sealed mine with Krylon's Kamar Varnish
They are very pretty. Do they have to be sealed with something before you use them? TFS
Good morning! Yes, I mention in the video that you should seal them. Also in the second line in the description bar I mention it again as well as list a good sealer to try. It is Krylon Crystal Clear.
All the best,
Julie
Pretty Cute Planner would that make them suitable for using above a sink?
What do you suggest for the sides of the coaster? When I make them. The paint just drips down & it looks messy. Do you just paint yours with the applicator too?
hello! Just making sure, you put the polyclrylic before you applied the vinyl and alcohol inks right?
How long do you have them set before you peel off the vinyl? I love them!
I waited about 10 minutes.
can you use resin to cover the top for an awesome look and protection?
hello...how much time would you recommend for drying and would you recommend this as a kid project???
Do you need anything special to adhere the vinyl to the tile? or does the vinyl stick to the tile on its own?
We made these in class
great tutorial. Can you use mod podge as a sealant?
I wouldn't use Modge Podge. It is water based and will smear the ink. Use the Krylon Crystal Clear (no alcohol) or I use a 2 part epoxy.
Plus modge podge will not hold up at all if you set a wet glass on it.
I've done quite a bit of experimenting with alcohol inks on tile... some of them come out looking really dry, instead of shiny like this one. Any clue as to why? (I started with alcohol on the tile and just swirled the inks around.)
I love these. I got the alcohol ink part down but where do you find the letter decals? Having trouble finding those.
Hi Karen, I use my silhouette to cut the vinyl. I am not sure where you might find vinyl decals other then sellers on etsy :)
What do you do with the edges?
Do you seal them? with what?
im just wondering what's the name that you used the sticker to make your initial?
Can you not use blender or alcohol solution w/q tip to clean your ' W '
Can you use the 12x12 ceramic tiles?
Hi, Acrylic on tiles need to be cured for some time before sealing...what about alcohol ink?
I’d like that answer too!
so sorry, should have scrolled down. Unfortunatley we can't get this in UK, do you know of an English equivalent please?
Where did you get your transfer tape?
in other videos i have watched, they place rubbing alcohol or an alcohol blending solution onto the tile first before using the applicator to put the ink on. is this your method as well?
No, I did not use alcohol first .. you certainaly can if you need more time to "move" the ink around though.
awesome. thank you for the info. i will try it both ways!
Can these be used outdoors?
No. Ink fades
How did you make or were do u get you decals from
skittles 748 You can cut them yourself with a Cricut. That’s what I use.
What’s the size of the text
what is the application tool called and where can i find it?
Karen Alduino it’s an applicator Tim Holtz/ Ranger has one which can be found in the arts section of Hobby Lobby/ Michaels or Amazon.
Soooo, if you don't own a vinyl shop, where can you get what you need to make your own stickers.
You can make them on any die cutting machine like a Cricut. They are very popular so chances are you know someone who has one if you don't. Or you can purchase vinyl monograms on Etsy.
jeanneanne t you can buy vinyl everywhere. Michaels, JoAnns, Amazon, etc. if you go to Michaels or JoAnns, it will be stocked by the die cutting machines. Also, see my reply below.
Cass J can you use mac tac in the Cricut machine?
Hi Julie, where did you find your vinyl stickers
I have a vinyl shop so I cut mine :)
