Since I spent so much time on my Xenoblade 2 full spoiler critique, I figured I would take a stab at also making a spoiler free review of the game for people who might be thinking about playing it. I don’t know if this is something I’ll make a habit of, but hopefully this video will be useful to someone! Thanks for watching, and thanks for supporting me. :)
You have been the only creator out there to get me to look at, and take seriously, the xeno games. I wish the combat system wasn't so deeply off-putting to me, but you have at least given me a backdoor into a whole universe of world building and lore to enjoy. The blade and driver concept is great, the world as the back of a beast is wonderful, and the conflict between biology and metal is fascinating. You have done a brilliant job of getting me to care about something I have historically ignored. Great work as always Altercate. Thanks!
I already gushed about the game in my comment on your spoiler video, but yeah, go play Xenoblade 2, everyone. It hits all the right notes for me, it truly carries the heart of classic PSone and PS2 RPGs and truly has an intangible magic
Interesting arguments. My problem is that there are just TOO MANY DAMN GAMES and too little time, so even though I played Xenoblade Chronicles 2 a little, I'm almost certainly never going to finish it myself.
That’s my main issue these days, too. It’s impossible to keep up with all the good games that are released, so you really have to pick carefully what to play.
This is a good video. I've never played it and I can tell this is not for me. I am really not a fan of overly anime design in video games (especially regarding the blatant sexualization of female characters) so I'm very put off graphically, and the gameplay doesn't appeal much to me either.
If something just isn't for you, it just isn't for you. No matter of praise and convincing from ardent fans is going to persuade you otherwise. Not even comments like "oh, but once you get past THIS part then THAT'S when the game gets really good!"
Xenoblade Chronicles for me is one of the best games I ever played. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 combat system is so confusing that after ~10 hours I just gave up. It feels so unnecessary complicated, that I consider it as a design flaw. If TV series gets good after season 2, it is not worth it. If game requires 70h investment for one to get it, It just sucks.

Wow, that’s so nice to hear! Thanks for letting me know! :)

Field Skills and the Gacha sets this game at a 7 out of 10 for me.
Playing XC1 at the moment. It’s good but not great. I’ll definitely give 2 a go at some point after.

Yeah it's definitely not a smart way to design a game 😂
