And we're talking about awards? Really
Our prayers are with L. A. and it's people, however; let the record show that the Government out there was not ready with hydrants that did not work, pressure in the waterline not to spects, and reservoirs not open. Fault gor this is shared by all out there and these things need to be addressed.
For the record the hydrants are like a power grid. The more people using the grid, it floods the grid and the power goes down. Because the winds were soooooo bad, the planes weren't able to help which means the ONLY thing we had available to put the fires out were the on ground tankers and hydrants. Also, keep in mind again because of the winds, power was knocked out or shut down to prevent sparks which would cause MORE fires. Without the power the pumps weren't able to move the water which resulted in the pressure in the hydrants being low. We truly appreciate your thoughts and prayers, but PLEASE be careful with spreading the mis and disinformation. Keep in mind we've NEVER experienced hurricane type winds of eighty plus miles per hour. Add to that a fire, I'm just grateful and thankful that our first responders and elected officials acted quickly to prevent things from being worse than they are now!!!!!
Try to sound less ignorant. One of my friends who is a fire chief, says no amount of hydrants could have mitigated the devastation based upon the force of the winds.
@shoneek The ignorance is in The equipment preparation, the equipment bought versus need, and the improvements needed on existing equipment. Thr L.A. Fire Chief made that comment.

@@NightimeInDeepSpace I get it. Fire hydrants in any city are not designed to fight massive fires, just targetted ones. That's why they ran dry. It goes SO far beyond celebrating celebrities - it is a HUGE portion of people’s living wages. To cancel them is to completely neglect 1,000s of people’s livelihoods. I wish people would speak with a more well-rounded approach to these things before parading around about canceling things. Peoples’ lives depend on it.

We live on a living planet ignorance is the culprit
No its not whoopi...its called management of funds
SOME of the famous though DO have other homes and lots of money so lets focus on the middle class and shame on one well known actor asking his fans for donations
Celebrities only want the Oscars postponed so they can count people into donating the money to get a new dress for it
We don’t care about the Oscar’s or Hollywood
I AGREE WITH WHOOPI💯💯💯💯💙💪🏾💙
The Simpson predicted it , crazy as that is!!!
I am giving and i dont have but they NEED
God bless you👏🏽❤.
❤❤❤
That's amazing. But I do hope it ends up somewhere that it's truly needed. For some of these neighborhoods these fires are an inconvenience...but they'll be fine. The wealthy could use emotional support of course...but not material.
They should quit the private planes
$770 Your hero Biden announced $770!!!!
What a joke 🤦
Why not have the same energy for the people of NC
Trump did. He talked sht about NC and left.
No offence but from some one who lives in Hurricane Valley (in Florida) and has since 1967, this is catasprophic and the worst thing that has happened to our country hands down! Some of the most recent hurricanes I've lived through were Rita, Katrina, and yes Andrew.
Hope some of donations will help North Carolina as well
No, doll. We are a divided nation. Why should CA help you? CA should keep the billions of dollars they send to the Feds, and not bother with MAGA states. FAFO.😅
Many Floridians and people in North Carolina refused the help. They listen to 45 and his misinformation.

Dress theme for the awards ceremonies this year ~ no glamour ~ come dressed as you are in honour and remembrance. Donate the money it would have cost to get glamed up. Oh, and no fancy champagne & expensive goodie bags....that money can be donated also
Fashion/Makeup/Food/Advertising for award shows makes up a large group of peoples’ living wages. One swipe of a cancellation affects 1,000s of people.
@@bailarage Well, the fires have affected hundreds of thousands of people. So, I really couldn’t care less about caterers, makeup artists, ushers, seat-fillers, etc. Many of those individuals are probably not even available right now because they had to flee just like everyone else.
If they limit california, california limits back. Let's go.
I don't know how many of us are out there, but I'm a Christian who believes in climate change. Get close to Jesus and go green.
View, if you want climate change to be talked about, you gotta talk about it wayyyy more. You have the ability to bring it up and keep the conversation going. Very little was spoken about it during the election and throughout these last two years, which have been the absolute worst for climate change.
I'm a Christian and I don't believe in climate change. God knew what he was doing when he created this world.
Worse thing will be in a few month's people will forget and the funds as always mishandled. As an Australian im wishing all the victims of this disaster 😔 to each and everyone i pray youll be looked after ❤
For as long as you all have been on the air I wish you gave just an ounce of this compassion for the hurricanes I've lived through in florida. We had two devastating ones in the same county Martin county Florida in 3 years and not a peep out of you all. Not even a little squeak. I've been in my car for 3 years now.
@@johne.porter1298 The LA Fire Chief was speaking on camera and walking a political tightrope. That said, the circumstances are such that the size of the disaster is beyond what the best infrastructure could've handled. In the best scenario, advocated by the LA Fire Chief,, only a small percentage of what was lost would've been saved... i.e. some of the damage could've been mitigated. But not the majority of it. That's my point.
Jimmy Kimmel makes $15 million a year, how much does he donate? We haven't heard anything yet.
But he's donating his tears
I haven't heard about any celebrities donating anything. They just keep tweeting about how devastating this all is 😒
@ It's all fake. He is an entertainer/actor.
@@alexiswarren3735 Where is Taylor Swift, Madonna, Ellen, Oprah, The Rock, JLo, Kim K's family and so many.....
@ Beyonce donated $2.4M.
What Woopie doesn’t realize or want to talk about is the strings being attached is to prevent the next time. It is not a penalty.
I would love to see y'all talk about the prisoner's who are stepping up to fight these fires, and the fact that after they're out, they can't even be hired as firefighters despite their experience.
Hasan Piker did an interview and it was eye opening.
This needs to be talked about too.
Not trying to sound insensitive but why are they worried about the every day person donating? Where are the federal funds?
Funds have been made available, Republicans have made funding a political football.
They should cancel the governor and the LA Mayor instead.
Explain how the Governor and Mayor are more responsible for climate change natural disasters than the federal government or the republicans who have blocked spending on climate change spending?
@@AydenCharlton-uv2cy Climate change was responsible for the reservoirs being drained during fire season? Climate change was responsible for cutting the fire department's budget by $17 million, while calls for service increased 55%? That climate change was probably responsible for slavery at some point too.
@@AydenCharlton-uv2cy you're still fixated on CliMaTe ChanGE 🥴🥴 when there were immediate in the now shortcomings that led to the magnitude , loss and the way this was dealt with. do you get it?
@@AydenCharlton-uv2cy "There is no such thing as climate change; it's a concept crafted to place blame on humanity. If you believe in it, you might as well turn to ancient biblical texts, where the origins of prophecies about natural elements can be found. It’s an abstraction of something not real which doesn’t exist, a political tactic to control the masses."
@@NightimeInDeepSpace I get it. Fire hydrants in any city are not designed to fight massive fires, just targetted ones. That's why they ran dry. The Ocean (salt water) kills land ecosystems and can destroy equipment. That is why it is rarely, if ever, used in fire fighting. Desalinization costs a lot of power and is 3x more expensive than rain capture. $17m drop from over $800m FF budget is a drop in the bucket in favor of helping the police to fight crime (where the $17m went). This is the first time LA has seen this speed and consistency of wind crossed with a 1/100th expected rainfall (climate change). Find context and read. Do you get it?
Why don't you raise money for North Carolina
California thinks they're more important no doubt because of Hollywood! Newsflash America can't stand these leftist elites

Nobody talks about the mayor in Africa? Knowing there was a red flag warning 🤷🏻♂️
I think y'all ned to do a little more research..... the insurance companies dropped these areas because they stopped allowing controlled burns.... which gets rid of dead dried up leaves and brush ect.... if those were still happening then possibly these fires wouldn't of gotten so bad.... but either way it's not the residents fault and my heart goes out to them!
I still don't understand why the View hasn't been cancelled yet
I don't know why Jesse Watters is still on the air. The View is the closest thing we have today to what Crossfire should have been, but from women (and men should listen). Thank GOD that ABC does not listen to you. I do miss Meghan McCain, though Alyssa is pretty awesome as well.
Telethon might be better idea than awards at the moment... Getting 100 mph winds in winter might get worse in summer...
Of course there are going to be high winds. Its gets windy on the coast, LA is a coastal city
climete change was happening and no one listened
Arson
Climate change was happening and Newsomenwas swilling wine and chewing 🧀 cheese!
Rain water is NOT penetrating the soil just runs off .
This is not being spoken about. Stop taking climate
Change and not correcting the lack of wetlands.
Of course the view doesn’t want the Oscar’s to get canceled/postponed…it’s aired on ABC. Ridiculous.
Fear and hatemongers here.
I agree with Alyssa that it's enough regarding how you feel about Trump. Please let's move forward. I will not want to do another trial after 4 years and waste the Americans money to trial him again. My father once told me if you vote for President and if the person you voted for didn't win, you must give the person who won the opportunity because when the majority of the Americans voted, WE MUST ACCEPT THE OUTCOME. I love The View but sometimes I want to turn it off because of the fact that certain hosts will not accept the outcome of the election. Let's move on to other topics. This is my opinion. I appreciate Whoopi, Alyssa, and Sara having views regarding Donald Trump that is not just one sided. The hate that I see in some hosts regarding Trump, please move on. I'm sorry that the candidate you wanted to win didn't but there is nothing you can do now because we have to accept the results just like Kamala Harris has done.
Hear, hear! 👏👏👏
Peace to all peoples everywhere. We love you. We Love you. We Love You. ❤💫
Who gives two shits! Why do multi millionaires need to be awarded something for playing make-believe
This show is totally the very worst of television, and it does nothing but hatemonger
AGAIN people in TN and GA are in tents to this day in 30 degree weather. JESUS people

Comic relief raised $400,000 for the homeless, Where did that money go? L.A. is still the BIGGEST Dump Ever
Your comment is missing some zeros
I totally agree that the country can make a difference with "Relief" shows like you speak off. My concern is that, in successfully raising funds for these catastrophes like fires, hurricanes, etc., Congress will be less inclined to allocate the needed assistance for these tragedies. The attitude of those in the majority could be one of relying on peoples' generosity rather than spending government funding.
I hope the people of LA get aid..it should not be a political decision..people are suffering..prayers
I hope they treat LA better than they did North Carolina. I am sure they will because it is LA
Amen 🙏 Whoopi Goldberg and the View cast! We are with you all in fighting for what is right and we appreciate your intelligence and humanitarianism, ladies!

NO MONEY FOR KALIFORNIA.......YOU VOTED FOR THIS, YOU PAY FOR YOUR STUPIDITY........
If the awards shows are cancelled it will be because of low ratings. The awards may be delayed but that's it.
Why the women are not mentioning that award shows provide SO many jobs - from backstage, to ushers, to parking attendants, to choreographers, to designers, to dancers, to makeup artists, to caterers, to hotel staff, to wardrobe, to tailors, to bartenders, to every possible type of job, etc. is beyond me.
I don't think any of those celebrities are down to get dressed up while there are people out there with nothing, do people not have any social cues it is not right how ever you put it
Agreed - postponing is fine but cancelling everything is ridiculous. That’s just from people who do NOT know what they’re talking about & choosing to hyper-focus on celebrities instead of the normal people that type of thing will affect.
@@ML-te6qv You have to understand the unique world of show business to know that even though it appears glamorous and unnecessary, award shows are a massive industry and business that have entrails in nearly every sector of LA's economy. Post 9/11, the first shows to return - Mamma Mia, The Producers, Aida (Broadway shows that returned 2 days after the attack), Late Night w/ David Letterman (6 days after the attack), etc. - not only returned so quickly because people needed entertainment but because of how many jobs are affected by their absence.
Let the shows get creative as to how to deliver their products so as to be very sensitive to the victims, but to also give hope that the city built on entertainment will be a leader in helping rebuild.
I love L.A., but people outside of L.A. hate L.A. and Hollywood.
Host them in New York !!!
We stand with you LA!👏🏿👏🏿🔥🔥💥💥❤️❤️
Whoopi needs to give a few millions and the rest of these hosts in the view.
HOW is it that people can't understand and embrace have LESS rather than wanting/ taking MORE?
I think if the awards season gives up the gift bags and donate to their favorite charity.
Yes please pray for all of the people of Los Angeles. It's so sad and it hurts me to see people lose everything they had. I really hope the insurance companies will help these people and others who have the resources to help them all. It's going to take a long time for these people to recover from this tragedy. But if we all work together, we can come out of this better than before. 🙏
Nobody cares about the Grammys or Oscars. Just a bunch of rich people congratulating each other. And Sunny has fake hair
I do care. I wanna see actresses dresses.
It's also affects the average joe. who helps Cater the food, help with decorating, and help organize the show. It's not just celebrities 🙄 😒
Nah the bigger issue is them asking us to donate. You donate.
With the Oscars I watch the In Memoriam section on UA-cam and that's it
Sunnys' hair is not fake.
Joy and light in the Oscars? Since when?
