Giles Hanover The words you used are at the heart of the issue. 'Experienced people'. Just because a vet got an education, does not mean they have experience. They just have 'permission' to use drugs. Not cures. Where are the scientists that said GMO food is bad? They got fired, for such HYPOCRISY. Professional farmers have 'permission' to use glyphosate and bovine steroids. That doesn't mean they are ethical farmers. More lawyers and higher hourly rates, have never made law more 'civil'. They just take more out of the system of the people they supposedly help. Farmers are no different. Claiming safe practices, while cancer rates skyrocket in every industrial farming country.
you shouldn't let the people judge you you're doing a great job you have a very big nice form and if people don't see the vet there that is not their business you do what you got to do and you are showing us how you take care of your cows and calves which we should be proud of thank you so much for showing us how you treat your animals which I see you do a very good job God bless you and your family and your animals to you are a great person for your animals you take good care of them I see them they're healthy. don't let people try to put you down or much less put your self-esteem don't put yourself in their shoes walk in your own shoes.good job home boy😎🤗😀
Jackie Rodriguez , I agree with you and the other kind people who wish to thank him for sharing with us things that he has learned through experience. Thank you for your support of such a kind and dedicated man.
You seem to be a young man with good common sense and a willingness to be a life-long student of the things that you are passionate about. Keep going. Like Jake says, follow that pure heart and you’ll do just fine
You don't have to explain yourself to ANYONE! You do what you feel is right and it's no one else's business. Farm life is hard and most of these people making negative comments probably have never been on a farm. I have been following your videos for a long time and it's clear that you truly care for your animals. Keep up the good work.
Coming from an experienced cattle man with over 40 years in raising cattle, you did just fine. You reacted quickly, you got help from an experienced farmer and he had the medicine you needed to treat it. This was by far faster than calling a Vet to come out which might have taken hours or been the next day. Even here in the US, its nearly impossible to get a VET out to the farm on a minutes notice, your lucky if you can talk to them when you call. I will say they do call back, but that my take an hour or hours before you hear from them depending on what they are involved in at the time. You learned how to handle this and in doing so will be prepared for the next time should it happen again. You are using good rotational practices, you are with your cattle daily and growing your own hay. Your cattle have a far better life than any in a large commercial operation. Please do not let the comments from arm chair or hobby farmers raising nothing more than expensive pets sway you and making you think bad of yourself. I do not want this event to make you reconsider putting out content for everyone to learn from. Hell, I have been raising livestock, farming and gardening for over 56 years now and I have learned a thing or two from you, not to mention learning about your country and way of life. Now I am not able to raise cattle or other large livestock anymore, my age, circumstances and health have made it not possible any more. Sometimes a man has to finally come to grips with what he can or cannot do anymore. But, that's why in my spare time I watch you, I can in a small way relive what I have lost the ability do . For that I thank you and do hope to continue to see you and your family here on You Tube. God Bless you and yours. Mr. Tom
So true, We farm in Kentucky, 12 miles from a large animal practice. They do not do farm visits at all. Plus sadly no one in the office can help with questions. The secretary is absolutely useless. We love the vet himself, he is super good but he is going to retire next year. This vlog is wonderful and I follow it with joy. Young farmers like this give my husband and I hope for agriculture.
I live now in Southeast Central Alabama, there is only one VET left in our small southern town and they do not treat large animals, or make farm visits. We had two VETS and the one that did treat large animals retired nearly 15 years ago. SO here if you have farm animals you rely on other experienced farmers or your own experience. Farming here, especially livestock farming is dying off, for the most part all farming is dying off with the exception of forestry. Small livestock operations or food growers are very few and far in between. I just have a small plot of ground left, its my old home place and this year I started clearing it off since it had been neglected for years and severely overgrown. I will not have the land to do large stock, but hope to have my gardens back and producing with a few chickens and rabbits. My goal is to provide for myself since now I am retired and living on a fixed income. But I know from experience and my past that this man did the right thing as quickly as he could of when he found it. He is a good man and a damn good farmer.
Well said Simeon! I am thankful for you taking the time to go to all the trouble of tapping, editing and teaching us , time you could of been with your family. I appreciate you!
The trolls are just like snakes. Eating their own tails. They just don't know it. And will grab any piece of tail they see..... Others have real ethics and staying power. It's okay to be white. It's okay to be a man. Heck, it's even okay to be a farmer. #walkaway
Good on you Simeon. If farmers in Australia called the vet for every fly-blown cow or sheep, they would all be broke. Farmers know how to deal with these problems, and do so in a way that is in the best interests of the animal. No farmer wants a dead animal, there is no profit in that.
Please don’t feel like you have to explain yourself to those that feel it is their mission to discourage. Although I am not a cattle farmer it appeared to me that you were handling the situation as it was necessary. I have been viewing your videos for a long time and your animals always look clean and healthy. Thanks for sharing your life and know at least one of your subs will never judge your methods.
It's sad that these days bring up the need to explain yourself to do the right things with common sense. Exactly as you said "medicine always only treats the symptoms". You did what nature taught you. You have common sense!!
You speak 3 languages and 15 years in farming I wounder about those critics? I think you do a magnificent job on the farm. I wish I knew you even better.
I'm a veterinary technician or whatever they call it in English (I'm Dutch), I've had experience with rabbits and maggots. As far as I could tell from your video, you did a great job with the calf. I'm new to your channel but from what you said, your method of keeping the cows is really well thought out. Sad thing that the internet is full of people that are quick to judge others and think they know better. Anyway, what a cute calf, and what good protective mother cow. I wish you all the best.
Please don't' pay so much attention to the haters; your a 'real' person who's educating us all about the realities of homesteading- the good and the bad- it will happen even to the haters. Thank you for your honesty and will power.
Thanks for telling the haters to get off your back. Great teaching videos. Love your farm and the techniques you use. We would all benefit greatly from following you and the care you use of your animals and land
Thanks for your 'rant', I too was shocked at the disrespect that was shown to you and the situation you and the wee calf found yourselves in. You will be glad to know that those who understand the 'lay of the land' will stick with you. Keep your chin up, Love to you and yours from Scotland.
We farmed the same way like you do now, Simeon. In 25 years we had the vet out x2. Once for blackleg, and once for a c section. Everything else we did ourselves and/ or with the help of our neighbours. I know in my heart, that you an excellent stuart for your animals. Love, cat.
You give an accurate view of farm life. The joys, the hard, and sometimes unpleasant work. Sometimes things go wrong and you don’t hide that. That is admirable.
I for one is so so so relieved....when one has love for animals....we sometimes react before thinking....so glad you learn more from you...and so glad...that I have learned something from you and you also learned things too. Thanks for caring enough to up date all of us. God bless you and all the cows too!
REALLY! I am so sorry you felt the need to explain yourself... You owe no one an explanation.... I was amazed at all you did I cld not of handled that but YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB! You know my grandfather was a cattle farmer and he had so many things with cows that wld make these ppl cringe but he like you have to and will learn to do things yourself... You have to. Do you did a great job, screw those ppl who "know it all!"
Mahealani W. I know I saw the last vedio I felt terrible but he handled it very well I would have cried and jumped on calling every vet, but being in the medical field he did the right thing is to stay calm and work with what he had. He does not have to explain him self to self righteous people who probably never been in a farm. For that person if he was a farmer, he must have some real sickly animals.
This is the 2nd video of yours I've watched. The 1st was how you helped the calf with the awful maggots. I didn't read the comment section, (glad I didn't) and clicked on this straight after. All I can say from watching both videos, in full, is how you did a great job in getting rid of the maggots. People who are a keyboard away feel they can say anything they wish, not understanding the consequences of what they say and the reactions it has on others. The world would be a better place if people were more considerate towards others. Also, you have shown more care and support to the calf than some humans with children. Thank you for the videos and good health to all.
Hahahaha I loved that last bit “Not everyone is like you get over it.” I gotta remember that one. Glad the calf is on the mend. You know you’re doing right when people hate on UA-cam.
Brian Philbrook I once heard at church that when you get close to your purpose in life...some people in your life will get real upset and you learn who is your real friends are and who are your Lots in life.
well done Simeon. You where very compassionate and did very well in helping your little calf. I glad to hear he is feeding and running around, testimony to your excellent care
Sir you are doing just fine and you have to ignore people that just like to judge everyone because they can. I am a senior and I watch lots of videos on youtube. I read some real strange comments and some are done to just make the person like you upset, then they sit back and and have a good laugh. You don't have to answer to anyone if you don't wish to. I found your channel and I enjoy watching and listening to your life and the way you live it. Take care sir and keep doing what you do.
I want to thank you for saving the life of one of my hens. This is the my first year with chickens. Like you, we in the Pacific Northwest, Washington State-USA, are very hot and dry. We manage flies with Fly Predator larvae and also traps. Still, I had no idea that flies could lay eggs on a live animal. After seeing your piece about Fly strike on your calf, I checked all of my chickens and ducks. I found one hen with maggots eating a hole beneath her vent. Because you are willing to talk honestly about your experience, I checked my birds, recognized and treated this problem and saved her life. No matter what. Thank you Simeon.
I've just watched your video about your beautiful half and the nasty fly struck. I'm so glad your calf is healthy and thriving!! Bless you and your farm!! 🙂🌻
How can you even think that the commenter sitting in his 15th floor apartment doesn't know more than you - after all he knows everything about cows, because he eats at MacDonalds all the time. As you will gather I have a very low opinion of keyboard "experts".
So glad you posted these videos it’s nice to know that someone is actually trying to do something more natural to take care of them instead of depending on medicine all the time and only use it when you actually really have to, you rock ignore the haters.
This is why I LOVE your channel! You dont just show red roses and pretty farm...you show even bad and you educate when you do so!!!! Also love when you react to bad comments :) God Bless you, your family and your homestead!!!!!!
You did exactly the correct thing. I have experienced maggots with horses and it does send you in a panic almost. I could see the concern on your face and you treated the issue quickly. Don't listen to the trolls, they have not clue.
Dear Simeon, I congratulate you. I was born on s farm in Europe mysef. My parents NEVER treated any aminals except with natural cures. They never failed them. Yes indeed, whether people or animals, medicines never treat the cause. You are a very well versed young man, just keep doing what you are doing.
Hi! I love your videos. It reminds me of being out on my grandpa’s farm as a child. People who criticize you, are likely not even aware of , nor can they comprehend the farm life. They are “experts” and bullies behind their keyboards! I was very impressed with your kind care for your animals, your common-sense reasoning, and willingness to pursue assistance from your more experienced neighbors. You’re doing a wonderful job; the world needs more men like you! ....you owe no one any explanations so simply ignore the trolls! 😃
The results speak loud and clear, the calf is healing after your treatment. Great job! No need to address the naysayers, they are not where you are, in the circumstance you are in. Giving them attention is exactly what they want, but do not deserve.
Ultimately a once a year health check from a vet is all a good farmer could wish for. I was really impressed with how you handled that whole experience.
I recently found your videos and I have only watched a few on your calf with the maggots and it's updates but I thought you did an amazing job at handling not only the situation with the calf but also his mother and her reaction(s). I wouldn't pay those ignorant people a second glance because they are just hiding behind a computer screen with their ignorances...some people in this world try to do what is best for their animals, making their lives as natural as possible, and medications and antibiotics included in everything that goes on or in their bodies isn't healthy for them! So just keep doing you because your doing an amazing job and your animals look amazing and are beautiful because of all you are doing!💕
I appreciate your passion for what you do and for the love of your animals. This is the 2nd video the 1st was with the sick calf baby. Good for you for using your neighbors and trusting your gut and how well you know your animals.
Born Again Farm Girl i agree wholeheartedly with your statements. I don't know you, you don't know me. I just love to see your videos. I hope most people do the same. I see a lot of them going immediately into solution modus and i would advise everyone to refrain yourself from that. You can do that already to everyone around you in your own personal life. Let alone the fact that there are universal rules but there's always culture and with that practical differences on how to approach any situation. I'm sure an American would act in a different way to this situation then a swedish farmer, or a dutch one, which i know a few of. I wish you well, just stay focused, give all the advice maybe a second but then close it. You're the one farming, not us. Greetings.
SIM has lived in the USA as well, he knows how to spank the rudeness out of them. Just love that, I don't know you and you don't know me. Going to the ones he trusts. Amen to that.
IGNORANCE....Too many think they have something to offer when the DON'T> Maybe block them... They likely have NO CLUE about having a herd. TOO MANY POLITICAL CORRECT Morons without a clue! I am so glad calf is doing better and mother protecting. I HATE FLIES & MAGGOTS!
Simeon. You are naturally smart and you have been to farming school. I haven't. I see you did a great job with using your mind from what you learned so far and help from your neighbor who knows and I'm so happy for you that you are so capable and you fixed the problem in a few hours. Glad mama took him back. English is your third language. WOW!!! You are smart. Like I said. Don't let yourself get flustered by these ppl who don't know and just judge. I have had to stand my ground, too in the past when I was getting strong suggestions from every area. I just didn't say much so I wouldn't be accused of being mean and kept pushing through the right way as I saw it. I did know what I was doing by my mind's thought about it and I was getting poor advice which would deeply affect my life but not theirs'. They had nothing to lose and I did so the day I learned not to listen to bad advice if I knew the right way, I was free and did much better in life. I will research and take suggestions if the person has an accountable answer why their way correct or they show me a part of my plan that is weak and they have a solution for it.
Born Again Farm Girl I love your true and kind comments Born Again Farm Girl. I'm Born Again as well. Nature can be harsh but it also can be so beautiful, too.
Simeon, you did all the right things. Networking is the best way to get help. That's why I watch these channels to learn. Don't let these know-it-all people make you feel bad about anything!
I am so sorry you had to take the time to even make this video but I’m so glad you did! It needed to be said! So many folks are “arm chair experts,” or WORSE make single minded judgements on others based on a few minute video. I honestly think that’s the problem with the entire world. No one is actually listening to each other or paying attention and just jump to unfounded conclusions. Thank you so much for everything you share. For trying to help others and share your knowledge and experiences. What you’re doing is such a blessing to others and the majority of us are very grateful. God Bless you ~Lisa
Do you really think all the haters are from the USA and if you're calling is armchair quarterbacks I'm a real quarterback and I'd tackle you because those stereotypes are retarded
Simeon, you did just the right thing, I grew up on a sheep farm and we had Fly Strike on occasion. Don't let the Arm Chair "Farmers" get to you. You are taking time to educate others, we get to see you learning too. Thanks for letting us come along on your farming journey. Farm life is very hard sometimes. You did well.
When I saw your video about the poor calf I was curious in how you would be dealing with it--- Im in the USA and here, yes, a vet is generally called if an animal sneezes! I love your approach on doing things naturally! I thought you did a wonderful job with the calf!!! and to hear now that he is fine and running around and nursing is a wonderful ending to his tale!!! Good on you for not listening to the arm chair vets!! so glad you went with the experience of your neighbors!!! Your Highlanders are in great condition-- a whole lot better then ones i see here in the states! Keep doing you!! much love and respect to you luv!!
G'day, I have something to say about your closing sentence. Loved it! Said with complete clarity. Hope the calf continues to improve and, please don't give up your good work........ Thanks from Australia 🐨🐨
Lesley Oliver ~ I agree! I wanted to say something about his last statement in my comment, too, but forgot it. I laughed out loud, for real. Simeon is gracious, intelligent, and he's also 100% full grown man.
You know and love those animals way more than anybody on UA-cam could even comprehend. Spending time and energy on those people is just a waste. I know we want to help and love them too, but they are beyond helping so we just love them in the place they are and move on. Be kind to one another and make the world a better place.
Mu-mu-mamma said foosball is da devil Nah fr tho that's only true in some cases. If that was how everyone thought, how would you apply genuine criticism that could help people for the future. In alot of cases criticism isnt nice, but could help
Those of us who have been watching you for a long time know that you are a great farmer and you love your animals. Waiting on a vet is not always the best solution, old time farmers are the best resource because they know what to do.
IT'S NORMAL... all farmers see this kind of thing. It's laughable that because you don't have a vet there regularly for issues, you aren't a good farmer? It's like friends who are amazed that at 62 I NEVER TAKE MEDICATION.. no cholesterol meds, no BP meds, etc. I tell them if you take care of yourself you don't need doctors or meds. Of course there is always an instance here or there that you are going to seek medical help... you're not stupid. I'm not going to avoid medical care if I truly need it. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! We love your family and your videos!
Well said, 62 and you are still living?? Only kidding of course but people think by 50 you should be taking every med known to man just to stay alive. good luck to you.
Thank you for stating so clearly my thoughts on vets, and doctors in general. Simeon did what the vet would do and he sought experienced help and info from more farmers who had successfully dealt with this before. He's a very good farmer. And my personal experience with medication is like yours. I'm 65 and haven't been to the doc for 11 years because I don't get sick. My last doc insisted that I was lying to him because he didn't believe that I could be healthy "at my age" without meds. I found a different doc. Eat a 'clean' and well balanced diet with consistent, moderate exercise and docs and meds aren't necessary for good health.
yup.. still kickin ! lol And sitting with some friends/family and listening to them recite which/what meds they take and lining them up along side their dinner plates like their ante-ing up for a geriatric poker game, scares me to death! Don't get me wrong... I got some weight I could lose, but I don't take more than an aspirin or two a year for a slight headache. Very thankful.
Same here. I got a doctor and asked her if she "threw pills at problems" or if she was willing to look for a cause first and a natural solution second. She said the later was her option too. Unfortunately for her, she hasn't made much money off of me except for some food allergy testing.. lol. I lost my job recently, along with my health care so I'm going to be even more diligent in staying healthy. Feel very fortunate not to have issues.
I would have to disagree with your comment saying that if you take care of yourself, you don't need doctors or meds. I know of literally thousands of cases where people that take care of themselves with proper lifestyle would be dead without doctors or medications. I'm 61. I'm active, I exercise, keep my weight off, eat well and if I didn't take a daily medication I would eventually develop a cardiomyopathy and die a slow, uncomfortable, premature and preventable death. I do agree that people who take care of themselves need less medical care and less medication. Persons just need to be smart in all that they do.
I thought yesterday's video was very informative. I raise highlands in New Jersey, USA and never experienced this. Its a good thing for me to know and thank you very much! Great job as always.
Relax man. I'm a retired cow calf farmer and you did good. My vet trained me when I was young that I could handle most problems. ( how to inoculate the animals when needed or treatments when needed) Hope you never have to turn or pull a calf!
Your doing a great job with your cows 👍👍 Never mind what everybody else think you just do what you can & have to do to survive. God Bless You & Your Animals 🙏🙏
People can be so selfish and proud over what they THINK they know, versus what they ACTUALLY know. I'm glad you've chosen more sustainable farming methods, and I am happy to hear the calf is ok! The age of technology is a strange one, and I just want to thank you for sharing!
Thank you for this video. I was upset by the video from yesterday too but I believe that you love your animals and do the best you can to keep them healthy and safe. I’m very happy that the calf is doing well now!
Thank you for sharing your experience with a terrible situation yesterday. Many of us will never have to face what you did but was a great learning experience for those of us who may someday.
You are a REALLY good person to deal with yesterday's comments in the manner that you have done. I don't know how the situation could have been handled any differently upon finding the calf. We rarely call a vet except for Bangz vaccinations for the heifers every year. One cow stepped on her baby and broke it's leg. We had the vet come and set it. Calf doesn't even limp now. That is a very rare occurrence. Keep on doing what you feel is right! Doing this channel is like having backseat drivers, smile. My husband's father used to say some calfs are just born to die. It's part of being a rancher/farmer. Until people live this way of life they have no concept of what can and does go wrong and thankfully right. I will just say THANK YOU for sharing your ups and downs. You have shown me new ways to do things and given me a renewal of faith in people.

Should I ever read comments? Nope I guess. Have a story instead: On day 21 chickens I raised staret picking on eachother. Didnt know what to do, and went to a lady in the village who has been raising chickens since (kinda) the beginning of times, taking over from grandma etc. She told me they need meat. I told her they eat complete feed with enough protein. She laughed at me and said go get them ant eggs and they'll stop. I went out collecting, and they stopped. Not a single one got hurt after me feeding them ant eggs. So the learning from this story is the importance of knowledge: her knowledge about chicken's behavior, and the knowledge from generations, passed on to her. The industry debeaks them on hatching. The vet might say he doesn't know, maybe there is something with the feed. A good vet might say it's a certaim amino acid deficiency in their diet, almost certainly methionine. This is another type of knowledge. For a farmer it's important to have enough knowledge to act immediately: what to do, to avoid an imminent threat. And yes, she also knew what I learned from you, that predatory birds hunt from bigger trees, waiting for the chicken to enter their ideal 'landing area'. She learned this by loosing a couple of chickens, and observing what is happening in the orchard they roam freely.
Thank you for filming during such a difficult situation. That was very educational for new farmers. It was difficult to watch but you did everything right. God bless.
You don’t owe anyone an explanation. You do superb husbandry and care for your animals. Your methods are true, the problems with these folks watching your methods have a different paradigm. For years and years we used feed lots, didn’t care about rotational grazing, we weren’t concerned with runoff mitigation or crop rotation, winter forage, winter cover crops. It amazing we did starve. Young Farmers like you are doing far more with a lot less then us old guys did. We would mow and put up hay and we’d graze a field literally to the point of uselessness for the rest of the year. We had no idea about grass management like what’s your doing now. I talk to Farmers now and they look at me like I’m from Mars because I had never heard of looking at the tops of grass. Hay grew so well where I was it wasn’t really a concern, we thought. Your doing a great job, my friend. Don’t let dicks get in your head.
It had to be said! Even we are talking of animals but, it would be like you run to the doctors each times your kid is coughing !!! My family doctor was happy to see my sons only one or two times per year... And for those who are completely disconnected with nature, a farm isn't a unicorns garden, there is life and happyness but not only !
Your response is so good to hear. I learned a great deal watching your video about how you help a calf recover by using natural health methods. Thank you for standing up to the trolls. Many seem to have nothing better to do than criticize others. You have great work you are doing and you are helping us learn by sharing your methods and information. I have heard many long time UA-camrs who have experienced this behavior say to other UA-camrs “Just block and delete” because that removes unhealthy content that neither you or your viewers need and it is interfering with the intent of the work and the learning. Thank you for the work you are doing.
You did all the right things that I, as an animal guardian with 10 years of experience with cows, would have done. Find out what the problem is, talk to your best resources in the world...the old timers in your area who know more than a thing or two! and then the vet's if needed especially for follow up if what you are doing isn't working to the level it should be. Talk to your old-timers people...they are a precious resource that is dying out without being able to share their knowledge and skills!
Yes. Easy to judge without knowledge/experience. Things are Not always as they seem in a vid. I thought you did an amazing job of dealing with what COULD have ended tragically for that beautiful bull calf. Thank you for your explanations. I did think they were unnecessary as u understood what you said from watching the vid. Too many folks have an intermittent attention span & need to refocus more carefully before snap judging. Thank you for sharing. Glad calf is so much improved. &,I noticed yesterday that calf was standing & moving better by time you finished. Cudos for going to those who could help quickly while waiting to hear back from vet.
"You know not everybody is like you so get over it". That is the best saying I have ever heard on UA-cam. You guys are awesome! Keep up the good videos. I've learned a ton watching your channel.
Handled like a true farmer. Looking after his or her animals the best possible way that he can. Its called animal husbandry. You did it exactly what you should have done,no need to explain to people, who already know what you have to do. We cannot always second guess ourselves. The language (errors) if any, do not register with me. I understand what you are saying perfectly.
I understand your frustration with people criticizing who have little or no knowledge of what they are talking about Simeon. You have excellent judgement in your decisions and never having needed a vet in all those years speaks for itself! Natural is always the best recourse, very occasionally may need to just "treat the symptoms" with medicine. Try not to let those ignorant people upset you, you have far more people who love what you are doing than otherwise.
Well said Simeon! I have been following your channel almost from the start and it is obvious to me that you care alot for you animals, aswell as having tons of knowledge. Stay positive and dont spend too much energy on ignorant people. 😊
You did right, don't worry. People probably did not watch all the video, they take small bits of information and form a unfounded opinion which is laziness on their part.
Good for you! I’m so sorry that you’ve been put in a situation where you feel you have to explain yourself, on top of what you’ve already gone through with your calf. Blessings...
Reminds me of my first pregnancy. Lot's of unsolicited advice. Even talk of death during labor from strangers. My heartfelt sympathy to you that you had to experience the garbage you did on such a large platform. Many blessings to you and your beautiful family. I've learned so much from watching your videos especially the chicken ones. Please, keep up the good work.
This is a pat on the back. Even though we see only about 20 min. of your life at a time, we enjoy them; and think you are doing a fantastic job getting your farm and animals in a sustaining life style. Our advice - which I am sure you NEED - is for you to ignore the morons and keep doing the good job you are doing.
Hey Simeon, don't let anyone get to you. I was told anyone and everyone has an opinion about you and what you do about anything and everything. Even family members close and distance, in my case those can be the worst. Just keep on doing what you do kind sir, bless you and family's heart!
Well said! I haven't seen "the" video yet but people really need to butt out. We are privileged to share some of your farming life and to learn from you. I certainly follow you regularly to learn of farming in colder European climes and I admire very much the work that you do. Dismiss the nay-sayers.
Hello, My wife and I have been following you and you’re farm activities for a few months now. We have been watching your older videos so we are caught up on what you have shared, and thank you. You are doing a great job, i was raised on a old homestead type ranch, and a far as vets go, we rarely had one visit. My grand uncle knew from experience and fellow rancher/farmers what to do most of the time and we rarely used medicines because most of the time that is a reactive measure to cover something not something we did but try to prevent the need for things like that in the first place. Sorry for the negative comments others have given you. We had people who would buy our beef sight unseen because they knew we took good care of our animals and that we cared. You do the same, you care. Keep up the good work and you our prayers are with you. Thanks again for being a good steward to the land and your animals. Peter and family.
Another great video Simeon. The only thing that’s really important is the calf is healthy and the mother is caring for it and that is a testament that you did everything properly in the situation. There seems to be so much judgment in the world these days.
I appreciate the gesture and your willingness to comfort your audience who in my opinion if they took issue with the former video, I believe they failed to pay careful attention to that video. I watched it and I was so proud of every last action you took to mitigate and remedy the situation. When you were through with your task, I felt good about where you had your calf. Of course you would like any other concerned farmer check on things as you indicated you did and the mother and calf were doing well. If I found myself in a similar situation I could only hope that I handled the situation as well as you. Great job! Please don't let the comments get to you and forgive the ones who offend and even more so don't let any form of malice darken your heart. May the Lord bless you!
You did just fine, son. You saught the help of experienced people and you got it in control quickly. You did a good job.

The words you used are at the heart of the issue.
So true! Everything said here! Our country is smothered in glysophate here in good old "clean green" New Zealand!

you shouldn't let the people judge you you're doing a great job you have a very big nice form and if people don't see the vet there that is not their business you do what you got to do and you are showing us how you take care of your cows and calves which we should be proud of thank you so much for showing us how you treat your animals which I see you do a very good job God bless you and your family and your animals to you are a great person for your animals you take good care of them I see them they're healthy. don't let people try to put you down or much less put your self-esteem don't put yourself in their shoes walk in your own shoes.good job home boy😎🤗😀
Jackie Rodriguez , I agree with you and the other kind people who wish to thank him for sharing with us things that he has learned through experience. Thank you for your support of such a kind and dedicated man.
Yeah them negative people are called trolls they like to know it all when they don't know crap.
Ignore the haters! They are jealous know-nothings! Just like back seat drivers!!!
I fully agree.
You are great. You have a pure heart. Don't let the comments get to you.
Keep up the good work.
sitntrot exactly most of them have never stepped foot upon a farm for them to bash someone who wanted to do only good
Coming from an experienced cattle man with over 40 years in raising cattle, you did just fine.
Mr. Tom
Thank you for that
So true, We farm in Kentucky, 12 miles from a large animal practice.
Thomas Himes Mr. Tom this was beautifully said!
Well said! From this small farm where the animals job is to feed us or help us in that regard!
Good for you for calling out those people who like to judge. To me you are a hero for saving that bull calf.
Ignore the haters. We are learning and appreciate your videos.
Well said Simeon! I am thankful for you taking the time to go to all the trouble of tapping, editing and teaching us , time you could of been with your family. I appreciate you!
WatchingTheLeftCannibalizeThemselves Ilove your name
My wife and I love your videos. Thank you for being such a blessing to us
I just love Simeon’s “disappointed parent” voice when talking about commenters fighting with each other. That was great.
Thanks for telling the haters to get off your back. Great teaching videos. Love your farm and the techniques you use.
We would all benefit greatly from following you and the care you use of your animals and land
So happy to hear the calf responded so well to your treatment
You did an excellent job and I'm delighted to see you are using the holistic approach in treating your cows and calves❗️
You're doing a great job. You showed kindness and compassion to the calf. I enjoy your videos and learn from them.
Amen, Wayne.
Many people think their own opinion is the ultimate authority. Your last sentence said it perfectly.
As you will gather I have a very low opinion of keyboard "experts".
bren106 lol
Brilliant!
bren106 you did a good job I farm in Wisconsin and have seen this with sheep
I like your videos and will continue to watch
bren106 32
XD! :)
Easily one the best videos you've posted yet! Thank you for saying what needed to be said and keeping it respectful at the same time. Well done sir!
You did exactly the correct thing. I have experienced maggots with horses and it does send you in a panic almost. I could see the concern on your face and you treated the issue quickly. Don't listen to the trolls, they have not clue.
You did not rant I love listening to your farm dailies.
You did a magnificent thing for that sweet little calf. I can tell that you have love and respect for the animals.
If everybody was like you, What a wonderful world this would be. I enjoy all your videos.
Ultimately a once a year health check from a vet is all a good farmer could wish for. I was really impressed with how you handled that whole experience.
Farming is not a fairy tail! It has a sharp learning curve! Things are NOT always pretty!!!! AND IT'S A DAM HARD JOB! Don't listen to the haters!
Well Done Simeon!
I appreciate your passion for what you do and for the love of your animals. This is the 2nd video the 1st was with the sick calf baby. Good for you for using your neighbors and trusting your gut and how well you know your animals.
Nature is so harsh , thank you for sharing your experiences with us . I hope you get more joy then sorrow from these comments 👩🏻🌾 .
Amen! I want to raise animals someday and so I have been talking to people and watching and reading. Networking is crucial and so helpful
Well said. You did amazing with the calf.
So happy the calf is gonna be ok!! You did a great job. I have learned a lot watching your awesome videos!! 🐂🐂🐂💕💕Bronx, NY.
Simeon, ignore the critics. We have a term for them in the USA - "Armchair Quarterbacks".
I call them keyboard warriors!
I’m from USA
I just call em cunts loool
Do you really think all the haters are from the USA and if you're calling is armchair quarterbacks I'm a real quarterback and I'd tackle you because those stereotypes are retarded
I'm Dead Inside/Grammar Police cuz y'all dumb huh that sucks
Lesley Oliver onya mate
G'Day from W.A :)
You know and love those animals way more than anybody on UA-cam could even comprehend. Spending time and energy on those people is just a waste. I know we want to help and love them too, but they are beyond helping so we just love them in the place they are and move on. Be kind to one another and make the world a better place.
My mom always said if you don't have something nice to say about someone then don't say anything.
But that's also a wrong approach.
Mu-mu-mamma said foosball is da devil
Nah fr tho that's only true in some cases. If that was how everyone thought, how would you apply genuine criticism that could help people for the future. In alot of cases criticism isnt nice, but could help
What you do is amazing, and I deeply respect your love of a farm life. Hugs from Canada
Those of us who have been watching you for a long time know that you are a great farmer and you love your animals. Waiting on a vet is not always the best solution, old time farmers are the best resource because they know what to do.
I think you did a great job helping the calf and he was so good being still and letting you help him thank you for sharing ❤
Well said sir! Glad to hear the calf is getting better, wish you and your family and farm the best. Good luck during the weather issues you're having.
Don't let the HATERS get under your skin, their not worth the time of day....hope you& your family had a good time in the STATES .HAPPY NEW YEAR
Thank you for sharing a small part of your homesteading. The good and the not so good ! I'm glad the calf is progressing ! Stay cool.
I watched the video on the calf and you did great! Life happens and you did the right thing for the calf. Way to go!!
( how to inoculate the animals when needed or treatments when needed)
Hope you never have to turn or pull a calf!
Good job. Great educational experience for those us of who never experienced this type of issue. Thank you.
Thank you for this video. I was upset by the video from yesterday too but I believe that you love your animals and do the best you can to keep them healthy and safe. I’m very happy that the calf is doing well now!
I just found your video of the calf! Love You! Excellent young man + excellent farmer!
God bless.
Ignore the trolls
I appreciate you taking the time to share about your farm life. It is fulfilling to me.
Love your channel and so glad you posted the video about the maggots. Helps me to learn because I am a new cow farmer! Thanks much.👍👌🌻
Dude.. I am totally with you
Your methods and way of thinking is as sane as possible and i support them 100%
You learn as you go. Good job------Great video
You did everything right. Please please just delete the ridiculous comments.
You are right on track. Great video. Keep on keeping on 😉
Hey Simeon, don't let anyone get to you.
Hello,
My wife and I have been following you and you’re farm activities for a few months now.
