Can someone answer some questions for me?
1) would a deeper tread turning slower result in more pulling force to the ground vs a bald tread spinning fast? It seems like a lot of energy is wasted by spinning the tire. Maybe not a full tractor tire but a happy medium where you get the high RPM tire to create MPH while also getting more pulling force into the dirt?
2) are tracks not allowed?
3) are 4WD pulls not allowed?
It seems like a guy could build a much more efficient puller with a few changes to these setups.
As weird as it sounds too much traction breaks parts, also tears up the track a lot more. Maximum pull occurs at 50% slippage. Also would cause the rim to spin inside the tire. Tracks not allowed and as an owner of tracked tractor I would not want to be anywhere in the vicinity when a track come apart at those speeds, plus tracks at those speeds would eat a ton of horsepower. 4wd not allowed in US but is in Europe, not much use with front wheels off the ground though.
