Thanks for checking out my review of Young Justice season 2! Excuse how sick I sound in this video! 😅

    Thanks for this.
Some things I notice you might have missed based on your review, I will say in episode 19, Summit, Artemis had said Aqualad took out Deathstroke.
    2. Vandal Savage is immortal in this continuity, so it's impossible to kill him. But I know it's different in the comics, though.
    3. In the beginning of season 2, after the team defeats Clayface in the sewers, it gives the date (that you read aloud) and under that date it says "Five Years Later" on January 1st in the first episode of the second season.
    4. Also note Superman and Superboy relationship is more of a sibling relationship rather than a father figure one. When the Justice League had to leave to go stand trail, and Leaguers were talking to there proteges Superman address Superboy as "little brother" just something to note moving forward.
    5. I believe why it felt as though there was equal screen time to both new and old characters. They were able put old and new characters on different combo squad teams.
Interesting fact: Season 2 was only suppose to be a 10 episodes arc. (Stupid executives of the network decision) but the created and writer pleaded for an additional 10 epsiode so that's why the pacing seemed off. But the executives didn't have much faith in the show cuz the network wasn't generating toy sales from this show based off season 1. My guess was due to how mature the writing become in season 1 for a cartoon.

In my opinion, season 2 is better than 1. One's cool and all, but I like seeing these characters post-growth and in a more mature state. Plus there are tons more characters so we get many more different character dynamics. Not to mention the story is, as you said, perfect. In the end, whenever I go back to rewatch Young Justice, it tends to be season 2 that I go back and rewatch the most over the rest of the show.

I know a lot of people have the opinion that Dick Grayson & Wally West were never able to settle their differences. I just think Wally's death hit so hard because they were friends for such a long time. That circus episode towards the end of S1 cemented that Wally was always going to call-out Grayson on his actions but still cared about him as a long term friend. Also, Robin, Kid Flash & Aqualad were the initial core sidekicks responsible for formation of The Team, so that weighed on Grayson as well. He evidently felt some level of guilt that he pushed the mission to Cadmus all those years ago.
Season 2 hits hard. I know creator Greg Weisman has stated many, many times that there's no speed-force in this version of the DC universe - and that's what brought Barry Allen's Flash back from the dead years after the Crisis on Infinite Earths comic book. :(

Didn't know that about the Speed Force. It was my opinion, thinking there was a Speed Force here, that this would later lead to Wally returning a la the Terminal Velocity story from Mark Waid's run on the title. That would have led to a lot of personal stories (Wally basically coming back and thinking it's still the end of Series 2, Artemis and everyone else years and at least two series later, etc). Of course, we may never see anything else from YJ in the future, so there never will be a any sort of resolution here, but that does clear up some things I was thinking about. Thanks Kira!

@@bryanwilson4386 Well it's not unlike Weisman to throw us a curve ball. Plus you're right, it would be interesting to have Wally come back in a more powerful form. Not unlike the "Marvel Girl dying in space to become Phoenix" idea back in the day.
I'm not giving up on YJ, the streaming numbers from Netflix and MAX are very good and show it's popularity. "Greg Weisman reconfirms that the show's plot is mapped out (roughly) up to S7 (S1-4 + 3 new seasons)" [that was from his Twitter].

@kirasutton1973 and the actor who voices superboy said they are not cancelled they are waiting for the greenlight from Max and made mention that the animation process is long but everything else is quicker

@@kirasutton1973 I hope it does happen, and I know several of the players are keeping hope alive. But the more time passes, the harder it gets to move forward. Plus, I'm a bit worried the creative force at DC (James Gunn, et al) could torpedo YJ, as it does not fit neatly into their own plans.
I keep hoping someone else, like Amazon or Netflix, might pick up the series and produce it.
But you're right; watching and rewatching, spreading the word, and getting more UA-cam creators to review the series is they only way forward, no matter what.

An interesting thing that you only really notice on rewatching is Nightwing was only in the field when it was a mission where Aqualad would know the enemy forces, or at the very start against the Kroloteans. In the world of Young Justice having a mole is incredibly difficult when someone can potentially read your mind to discover that information (Especially when they don't care about leaving the person functional as seen with M'gann and Aqualad).

Kid flash dying is an homage to the crisis events in the comics. Barry Allen died in a similar fashion during crisis on infinite earths. The flash family are usually major players in each crisis event and usually one of them dies or is brought back via the speed force.

Kid flash isn't dead he's in the speed force

Until proven otherwise he is dead. The Speedforce exists in the comics but is never mentioned in Young Justice

    • @nickgoodlock263
      @nickgoodlock263 5 днів тому

@senzanome9824 him not being as fast as Barry and Bart was obviously setting it up for him to eventually come back from the speed force even faster than them. Just because it isn't mentioned doesn't mean it doesn't exist. If it didn't exist there wouldn't be any speedsters. The speed force exists in everything with the flash in it. If your up on the flash lore it's obvious what they were planning.
