I remember listening to this on one of my dad's old vinyl's. It's such a great feeling to find songs you hadn't heard in years and had forgotten about automatically remember all the good times.
Rob Stewart 🎶🎧🎶🎧🎶🎶🎶🎶🎧🥰👍 the the man people don't know I grow up in the 80,s i'am showing allllll the generation loserrrrrrr 😂🤣 what real music is about 😂🤣🤣😂😂🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Now this is a man who is a true artist because this song has been playing on the radio for decades now and its STILL considered a great song.....truly a timeless classic....
I remember being 18 and going to the clubs in NYC and them playing this song......most of the time high. Things were very different in NYC in the late 1970s. I was 18, from a small Ct town, starting college in New Haven and every Friday night, we would pay $5.10 for a round trip ticket to Grand Central Station, party all weekend and go back to New Haven early Monday morning and go to classes dead tired, or still high. It depended! There were the clubs, then they after hour clubs. Then you went to dinner/breakfast and started all over again. I turned 60 yesterday. If I tried doing that today, I would be dead within 48 hours! I remember someone telling me that if you can think it, you can find it in NY. Boy, I was “educated” young and quickly. As I type this, I can feel the smirk on my face grow from the memories!
Now i know why my mother and older sisters laughed at me when this song came on.I danced and sung this song when i was only 6 yrs old,and i still do hahaa!
Raquel Rene' same here. But i was born in 77. But my mom had all these records. Clyymax, Pointer Sisters, Rod Stewart, I've heard em all. Good times :)
I was born decades before this song, but I don't know why its melody (ignoring the lyrics) transports me to what I feel as the most remote time of my life, when I did not have yet conscience of the world.
Dear Rod Stewart, I heard this song on the radio once and I loved it! so now this is like my favorite song now :) I have it on my ipod, laptop everywhere and thats how much I love it!! This song makes me think of so many things in life even the one I truely love!!
Wow, I am so sorry that happened to you. Remember.... It takes guts to try and succeed. It takes guts to try and fail. It doesn't take any guts to not try. You have my respect, man. Keep trying !! One day you'll find an audience that gets you !!
who could hate this song? this song gets me through my darkest of days, this was my grandmothers song, she died when I was super young and the strongest memory I have of her is dancing around singing thing song
I was in Jr. High when this song came out and we had a teacher who was grossly overweight. One day he came into class singing this song, we all rolled on the floor.
@ChristewieTV I'm laughing so hard, I may fall out of my chair. I was a bit younger than you, I would think, when this one hit the radio, however, one of my ultimate favorites!!!!!!
Rod was successfully sued by Brazilian singer Jorge Ben who claimed the tune to Rod's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" was too similar to his song "Taj Mahal". Ben won the lawsuit and asked Rod to donate all his profits from the song to UNICEF.
His song "Another country" was copied from "My pony and me" of The Terry family cowboy song. Check in you tube. This 2 songs are similar melody or not.
Hatchetman6971 NOT talking about Rod Steward. I'm talking about the UA-camR who decided to upload this video with absolutely no audio for the latter half of it, who is probably NOT Rod Steward. Rod Steward may be a complete professional, but this UA-camR is NOT. The video is getting downvoted because of the mistake the UA-camR made, NOT anything Rod Steward did. And if you don't understand that, I suspect that you didn't even "watch" this video all the way through.
I remember whwn I was 17 years old and I shared this song with an ex gf of mine. She loved it so much. I am now with a new great woman thats the love of my life, and she likes it.
Just imagine that this is your fathers fav.song! As a child/teen i could only laugh really loud...... But now that he hasn,t been among us for 5 years i just enjoy the song and think;WOW,I had a cool dad!
@PeachsPINACOLADA I hear ya! It reminds me of my mother, who always played this album, "Blonds Have More Fun". She was into Donna Summer and all the disco 45's we had. People bash disco, but it was the soundtrack to a lifestyle. All the detractors have been proven wrong. I'll be 40 in Oct. and this still gets my blood pumping more than any new music.
this song is dedicated to a very special man in my life....I dedicate this song to him...I begin the day with this song and end it with this one "Have I Told You"
buscaba esa canción por años y por fin hoy la escucho de pura casualidad entrando en vídeos y vídeos. la amo como ase 10 años que no la escucho mis respetos para ti we
Lol When I listened to the oldies as a teen I used to get told I was listening to "Grown Folks Music " or " What You Know About This Little Girl ? " - all the time .
My grandmother has specified that when her coffin is lowered into the ground, this song shall be played. I can hardly blame her, this is an excellent song. I want to learn it on bagpipes.
…and that sure worries me. i am glad they can enjoy all the old stuff, cos there’s a lot to choose from. we were very lucky to have so many great talents come together & change our lives for the better. it all WAS a SUPER TIME! there is no denying we had fun, the clothes were fun too. everywhere you look, the roots of our generation touched everything. THE VERY WORST THING THE SCHOOL SYSTEMS COULD’VE DONE IS TO GET RID OF ALL THE ART & MUSIC CLASSES THAT TAUGHT US HOW TO EXPRESS OURSELVES!
I remember listening to this on one of my dad's old vinyl's. It's such a great feeling to find songs you hadn't heard in years and had forgotten about automatically remember all the good times.

Now i know why my mother and older sisters laughed at me when this song came on.I danced and sung this song when i was only 6 yrs old,and i still do hahaa!
I don't think I was six (less than 10yo) and YES, I played it over and over and over. Thank God for being brought up in the late 70's and early 80's
Raquel Rene' same here. But i was born in 77. But my mom had all these records. Clyymax, Pointer Sisters, Rod Stewart, I've heard em all. Good times :)
I remember when this Awesome song came out. Im glad to have been a teenager in the late 70s that entire Era was AMAZING!!!
I was turned 8 in 1978, and I loved it then, and still today!
I was born decades before this song, but I don't know why its melody (ignoring the lyrics) transports me to what I feel as the most remote time of my life, when I did not have yet conscience of the world.
WHY IN THE WORLD DO PEOPLE HATE DISCO MUSIC!?????
They're lying, trust me.
Mannchild11 they are not!!
fuck off
It's not that serious. Last I checked fucking was a good thing. Try it.
I've been wondering the same thing all my life , I'm glad you said it first!

Dear Rod Stewart,
I heard this song on the radio once and I loved it! so now this is like my favorite song now :) I have it on my ipod, laptop everywhere and thats how much I love it!! This song makes me think of so many things in life even the one I truely love!!

Alter Schwede, dieses Jahr werde ich 50, wenn ich das Ding hier höre, dann werden die alten Zeiten doch wieder wach! Was war es doch eine schöne Zeit!
Wow, I am so sorry that happened to you. Remember.... It takes guts to try and succeed. It takes guts to try and fail. It doesn't take any guts to not try. You have my respect, man. Keep trying !! One day you'll find an audience that gets you !!

I was in Jr. High when this song came out and we had a teacher who was grossly overweight. One day he came into class singing this song, we all rolled on the floor.
I played this for my teens and they agree this is the funkiest song Rod Stewart ever produced. A true classic!

Hell yeah, this songs so good, I love the bassline.
@ChristewieTV I'm laughing so hard, I may fall out of my chair. I was a bit younger than you, I would think, when this one hit the radio, however, one of my ultimate favorites!!!!!!

+TOMMIE BELL true
Wow
True that
His song "Another country" was copied from "My pony and me" of The Terry family cowboy song. Check in you tube. This 2 songs are similar melody or not.
TRUE
This is such an amazing feel good song, just makes me feel like dancing! ^-^;
I work at home depot. This song plays on the radio every two or three hours everyday. This is a good thing.
dude....kick ass. start young with good music. dont be afraid to be a little different and out there with the stuff you listen to. you wont regret it.
150 dislikes. People are stupid and they have no passion, libido, a love life. This song stirs all this up.
Or maybe it's because latter half of this "video" is just radio silence.
Rod Stewart is a complete professional. Anyone that talks down about him can not figure out anything. He is great.
Hatchetman6971 NOT talking about Rod Steward. I'm talking about the UA-camR who decided to upload this video with absolutely no audio for the latter half of it, who is probably NOT Rod Steward.
