Very interesting, I've learned a lot from your video, thank you. Please did you ever heard about something made of RAW fish skin. I have a tiny piece of salmon skin and I would like to make a little rattle.
Thanks for showing and sharing this! I have two rather large pieces of fish skin. Should I put them in something liquid for a while before I start cleaning it? To make it easier?
I'm not sure of your thinking around wetting or soaking the skin? Regarding your question, what kind of liquid, how long of a soak and what expectations do you have to make cleaning the skin easier? The skin was removed from the fish about two minutes before she started scraping and scaling. This video showed a pretty straight forward process compared to some I've read about. I'm pretty stoked to try it even if I use only one full skin of good size salmon to make a small bag.
Do you think it’s easier to scale the fish when the skin is still on the body or once it’s been skinned? My instinct says it would be easier on the body still. That said, I’ve only scaled 15-20 fish in my life and they have been all kinds of species.
You guys take survival to a whole new level. Bravo!
thank you so much for sharing much love from new zealand
Thank you! Going to be covering a custom filet knife handle with fish skin using this method.

Great video! I tried bark tanning my fishskin, but it got very fragile. I think I used too much bark making the liquid too accidic. What do you think?
Well done
Nice video
I just found your channel 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
What happens if you leave the scales on? They look really pretty :)
I had no idea that fish skins could be turned into leather
is there a way to tan fish skin leaving the scales on them?

Nice approach. Are there some fish skins that are more preferred to others?

Yes. Scale, rinse, dry and fillet so the flesh isn't wetted. Set the meat aside to cook after the skins are cleaned.

You must have soft hands
Jesus loves us all and wants us to believe in Him so He can take our sins and we can join Him for eternity
that’s why we have to win more and more, or he died for nothing
go on and sin!
I worship the tree gods, which existed long before your Jesus
