Um ,No ! Saw this in Los Angeles and was NOT impressed at all. The singing was fantastic, but that's about it. I'll definitely be sticking with my phenomenal classic film version with Diana Ross and Michael Jackson. I did see the original Broadway show with Mills which was also good, but this new production felt lacking, bland, and amateurish like a high school play. also no Uncle Henry, no Munchkins, no Flying Monkeys, no Toto. The Lion and Scarecrow were acting like women. Nope nope nope. Keep it. And file it right along side The horrible Wiz Live with Queen King Latifah as The Wiz. Nope Nope Nope.
We have waited so long for the return of this classic play to Broadway. I can hardly wait to see it again.
