@@QuartzVideozYT sure, the ppl that copy and paste content are basically pirating in bits, this person however selects specific highlights into a montage of whatever topic. the biggest difference i see, however, isnt portrayed directly in this video yet is the close to two hours the creator watches to narrow selections. the average clip farmer doesnt need to watch the content for even more than a minute

And I mean the way he gets louder and steps on follow up jokes when his don’t land. He also looks to the crowd and panel after every joke seemingly looking for approval then gets upset when there’s no reaction. Seems like it rattled him.
@@BoomJitsu The audience not laughing at them doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t objectively funny - it could just mean the majority of the audience was more receptive to David’s very quick but low-brow humor instead of Ryan’s well thought-out witty humor.
Literally anyone would have reacted the same way Ryan did - it was a weird phenomenon; looked as if the universe was conspiring against him or something

I went and saw Ryan do stand up. It was the best show I've seen. I literally had tears in my eyes. I think he's just not great off the cuff.

Ryan's special and appearance on Shane's podcast are hilarious, seemed like an off day and wrong energy for the crowd. His skits are solid too, this is a poor representation of how funny he can be.

I kinda felt bad for him. He was one of the first guys who isn’t a legend to try to actually roast along with the boys. So props to him for actually trying.

That being said this might have been the cause for him getting so much more into the UA-cam thing .
I thought Joe dirtier was funny, and "Patrice O'Neil in a fatter suit" is still more coherent and sensical than 70% of the roasts David ever came up with

lol some of the stuff was funny, he just talked over people so often that he lost the crowd pretty early on. That's why quicker, less loud/more socially aware comedians do better as guests, like Mark Normand & Shane.

He was bad back then but he’s shown noticeable improvement. I commend him on not letting this and other performances at this time stop him. His skits are beyond hilarious and his stand up is good too. His podcast banter will get there too

Nah there’s a skill to telling unfunny jokes and making them funny with your delivery Norm was the king of this. Ryan just bombed and couldn’t get the audience back. Some jokes may have not been terrible but they just weren’t good enough to offset the bad/awkward ones.

Group psychology. Ryan Long had laugh-worthy jokes but the audience perceived David as "winning" and thus gave Ryan crickets. That Chick-Fil-A joke was obviously great but there was hardly any time for the audience to respond before David quickly interjected to compare him to Travis Barker or something. "Gay ass" from David also seemed to win a lot of laughs. Amazing lol.
And the audience erupted with laughter at "human daddy long leg spider" joke simply because he delivered it quickly. David's stream-of-consciousness approach seems to be what the majority of the audience is receptive to and not Ryan's more intellectual/witty approach. That being said...David's Aaron Carter joke was hilarious lol.

I saw this before seeing Ryan Long's comedy and thought, "great, another unfunny, good looking soyboy trying to be a comic; I am glad he bombed."
Then saw his stuff and he's fuckin hilarious. Watching this knowing how funny he is makes it a lot better.

It doesn't help that he's a northerner city boy with metrosexual written all over him and this Texas audience only has room to buy one gay-passing panelist at a time. Ryan usually plays the "Kill Tony" type role, but with Host Tony running the show, he couldn't get his groove. He's good when he singularly has the audience captured in some sort of confused state. Being only a side-character here, and out of his element, he was getting a little desperate to land something, and that just made things worse.

To be fair the Kill Tony format is just a bunch of bitter comedians trying to impress people that they don’t like. Literally the exact same as a high school cafeteria table. Why anyone would ever willingly go on this show is beyond me. Nothing funny has EVER come from it.
