Loss is without a doubt one of life's greatest challenges. Zen helped when my mother passed.

I died 7 years ago when an F150 drove over my torso. The other side is wonderful and the feeling of love is like nothing else. But, you come back. They took Jesus’s teachings of reincarnation out of the church in 432.

The fact is.. Life consists of Chita. Jetasika. And Rupa.
Rupa (the element that knows nothing) such as the human body, stone.
Chita is the element that performs as the chief of knowing. Knowing when one sees, hears, smells, tastes, touches or thinks.
Jetasika are the elements that conditions the Chita to make a mind of good or bad or neither.
Chita, Jetasika arise and fall away together in the shorter than moment of time. The Rupa also arise and fall away too but with a longer age. (14 times of the Chita and the Jetasika)
The Chita and the Jetasika must(nearly always) arise at a Rupa.
This arising and falling away of the Chita, Jetasika and Rupa explains the Impermanence (anijjang)
    in Buddhism.

This Chita,Jetasika and Rupa will arise and fall away continuously across the reincarnation up until one reaches enlightenment. When they stop as the cravings has ended, we call it Nibhana.

I understand life and death are connected. Use this life to make your partner happy because death is imminent. The happiness we seek cannot be reached due to challenges that are beyond our control. I am sad I will not be able to achieve this in my lifetimes

I have studied probably thousands of hours of different belief systems in my life. It has been number one for me since as long as I can remember as a toddler even. At the end of the day I really don’t know what happens to us when we die. Many theories, many beliefs, many faiths.
Whatever helps with anxiety of living and dying is fine. I no longer claim I know what the absolute “truth” is. I’m a bit ashamed of my younger years when I thought I did no absolute truth.
I’ve discovered in my life that if I take any belief 100% I close my mind to any other possibilities. And so until my last breath I will continue to try and learn and be enlightened by many sources.
May you be free from hostility, danger, mental, physical, and spiritual suffering. May all beings, seen and unseen, in all realms and planes of existence bless you. May all beings feel inner peace and happiness.
    Satu Satu Satu Amen

so sorry to hear this. I think a Buddhist will perhaps suggest you dont see Cancer as evil or the devil. Only because it adds another layer of suffering. Acceptance of cancer, as hard as it maybe, is helpful. Thoughts are with you.
