My hubby is a voracious reader with several books going at one time. He loves the magnetic bookmark I made for him, but I never got a picture. I kept one for myselfand it's marking pages in the composition book I keep recipes for DIY crafts supplies, and other hints and tips, in. They are the best bookmarks ever!
oh god this so easier for me too I don't like measuring. I have learning disability, and I am not a math person brain wise. I am more image visionual. Your a blessing to show this.
I know bookmarks aren’t new either BUT these are adorable!! I have two young grandsons that love to read and be read to. I am so going to make these for them!!
I love your magnetic bookmarks, I can't wait to make my own. Thank You for Sharing your Time, and Your Talent with all of us. Thank You also for the tips, very helpful.
For people who may not have access to magnetic strips or just cant afford them look at the outdated magnets on your fridge. Sometimes they hand them out at parades or they're used for marketing and they have like a calendar on them and after a year the calendar is useless and you can reuse something that would otherwise go into the trash. I was in an office and they were putting out the 2017 calendar magnets and had a bunch left over from 2016 and I asked what they would do with them. When they said "throw them away" I asked if I could take them and they had no problem with it. So just be on the look out at businesses who have magnets and if you're at a parade and people around you don't want them, take them. I also save magnets from everything because the magnet never goes bad and you can always find a use for it.
Great recycle idea. But oh how I wish I knew about this craft earlier. Cannot even count the number I have tossed in the trash that were advertisements
About a year or so ago I saw bookmarks that you slip over the corner of the page that I thought were so cute....so I started making a bunch for gifts. Then I realized they too easily slipped off the page, so that project got dumped in a box and put into a closet! Then, watching your video the light went on...I bet little magnet strips would do the trick...and it did. Thank you for the inspiration.
I don't know which I enjoy more, listening to you explain your projects or making your projects (well most of them). I just get happy when I listen to your videos and doubly so when it's you and Melody craft together
My daughter (12) every year makes every person in her grade (hundred of kids) something special and delivers them to their locker as a special male someone have a nice day, this year it's cards and she always has a uplifting message, like, you're awesome, you're special etc. She has been trying to figure out next years project and saw this and loved it! She is so excited and as middle schoolers they absolutely can use bookmarks. Thanks for the easy kid project and it won't cost me a fortune in paper since she can make so many on such little paper!
Perfect timing on this video! I had not yet made bookmarks for our ladies' group study in James. Your video inspired me, and now I have several ready to go with me to study tonight. Thank you.
Great idea. Be great to put in a card for birthday or just because card. I have to make some cards and I'm going to have a bookmark included. Be great to make a bunch and then color them, small project on the go.Have to see what magnets I have. Thanks for Sharing LOVE the tip on folding the paper for the size and then cut.I don't like having to measure for everything Thanks for that too. God Bless.Have a great day.
Maymay....how sweet those are! You're such a great teacher and I love that you show ways to achieve the same thing without fancy tools. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday.
I absolutely love this. I have no fancy tools but I can make your fancy bookmarks. 😁 Thank you. One of if not the best tutorial I've been able to follow with great success. 💜
What a great idea ! I might make some of these for the MS centre I use , they have a charity table and sell books 📚 so maybe they could make some pennies selling these too xx
I so love this idea!!!!!! I appreciate the tip about the magnets the poles, I would not have thought of that. Thank you for sharing your talent and ideas!!!!
This was such a helpful video for me.I'm really sloppy with rulers and I work in centimeters so this makes it even harder having to convert every time so I am very thankful that you showed this.Great video!! xx
So cute and easy. I like your idea of giving these as gifts. With the popularity of adult coloring, I would just stamp them in black and let the giftee take care of the rest! Thanks for the demo!! xoxo
If I covered the magnets with a piece of pattern paper would that compromise the strength of the magnet? These are amazing. I use dozens of these in my Bible and resource books.
This is a GREAT idea for easy making and sharing! I just received Maymay's (or should I say Vinnie's) "Then Sings My Soul" stamp set. The songs will be perfect on these bookmarks. Can't wait to make them and share them!!!
I love these and such a great way to express God's love. Where can I find the "rise up and pray" sentiment stamp on the angel you used? I want to make these for our women's retreat.
Maymay, your project is really so pretty. Its fun to make and even more fun to give to friends and family. Many thanks for sharing. PS - you are an awesome teacher
Maymay I wanted to let you know that I really like the book marks you have made. I was at a crop a few weeks ago and made a bunch of them. I am wanted to show you them but don't know how I can. Oh I know I will have to go to your web site. Thank you for sharing this with us.
May May awesome video enjoy it so much!!! Love the little book marks as you said make a great little gift or for a craft fair, love the way you measure going to use that way from now on myself thank thank! Thank you also for Sharing your Awesome Talent with Us All!! Love and Hugs Liz God Blessings!!! X
I have recently found your channel and LOVE it!! What a truly adorable (and easy) craft project to do...kids, youth, ladies, etc. BTW, I loved your last Bible study on Thursday nights. I didn't get it till the replay but it's a great thing especially for me during the summer when I don't get to go to services on Sundays. I'm a tour guide and we always have ships here in Alaska on Sundays...no days off then.
Fantastic video Maymay! I love your measuring tips,'cos I'm one of those people who are just hopeless at measuring :-) These would make a great little gift to enclose with my Christmas cards, thanks so much :-)
Thank you!!! I know you created this a few years ago but plan on doing them with bible verses on them. Would they fold if I laminate them? Thanks again!!
I have looked at a few more videos about making bookmarks, and one person rounded bottom corners also. She said it kept them from getting dog-earred. Sounds right??
I made mine a bit longer and used patterned paper instead of stamps to match the cards I was making,,,,You could even put a sentiment INSIDE and use them LIKE cards.
Do you know if that magnetic roll is strong enough to stick through cardstock? I have seen something similar with the small magnet dots. hidden under the paper, which adds extra strength.

I love the idea of giving them to children and they can color them themselves!

VERY cool idea!!!!
Love this. Thank you.
Definitely helpful for me.😁
Do you think the magnets would hold if there was a backing covering the magnets? I would like to make these for the ladies at church.
Terry Maffitt I'd like to know this as well! Think it would be cute to decorate the inside also!
Do you know if that magnetic roll is strong enough to stick through cardstock? I have seen something similar with the small magnet dots. hidden under the paper, which adds extra strength.
i realize it's quite randomly asking but does anybody know a good site to watch newly released movies online?
@Jeremiah Elon i would suggest Flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
Great tutorial!
