If you don't like this after the third song, just stop watching. Then take some time to firgure out what is wrong with you & find a way to fix you're self.
Ditto. Portland, OR. Unbelievable musicianship. Drummer played a Rhodes solo with right hand WHILE drumming the tune with the other three limbs. Plus Oliver's voice is like one in a billion. And the songwriting! Whooooo doggy. There's a reason every pro knows who these guys are and all the "legends" want them on stage with them. Love, love, love these dudes.
IMHO this could be the most awesome 36 minutes of live organic acoustic music in modern times. :) So so sooooooo LOVE the Wood Brothers. That home made guitar drum is a piece of art and sounded great.
Fucking solid gold version, better than studio, better than any other live version, and I've seen them play this live!!! This version reigns supreme....
I was at Mohegan Sun Casino with some friends and these guys were doing sound check for a free show in the Wolf's Den. Never heard of them, no idea who they were. I watched sound check and was blown away by Shoofly Pie. Been a fan ever since. Further, I left a message on their facebook page about Oliver's tuning on Shoofly Pie and he answered me personally. A class act as well as great players.
this was a hell of a show! Whish I could have been there. Musicianship serving pleasure and beauty. Can't ask for more except a very long life for the Wood Bros.
Fantastic music. Such a great blend of blues and folk and a dozen other things besides. Great, supportive playing from everyone. And, as a bassist, its always a pleasure to hear Chris Wood, especially on the upright.
I shook Chris Wood's hand when MMW and the Wood Brothers came to RVA a few years ago (Ginter Botanical Gardens). I was soooo hopin' that just a lil bit o' dat Chris Wood juju would rub off on me. I pretty much cherish that moment in my life. And I'm still waitin' for the juju to come in. Chris is the spirit of groove...
Iv'e found alot of good stuff when I fall asleep and the auto play keeps playing. I woke up hearing their Cover of Micheal Jacksons PYT expecting it to be a band i recently discovered fronted by a large black woman lol. I also discovered the Delines this way. The perfect music to be woken up to up too at five in the morning.
super good grooves, you guys really roll! Oliver, your voice is a real gift to americana music, please don't change a thing! Let the rest of us catch up, damn!
This came up on my playlist after watching a video on cooking, LOL! Nice surprise though. I heard about these fine musicians through Ryan Montbleau (Thanks Ryan!) I was spinning one of your records just the other day. Thanks guys for the enjoyment!
One of the most refreshing, talented and love on the stage....band I have seen in a long long time...Before I die I am gonna open for them...On my bucket list lol
(Allow me to talk to youtube like it is actually the band for a sec..) Just got to experience you guys for the first time… Im 35, raised in the rave and hip-hop scene but love and respect honest genuine music. The Muse is absolutely flawless. You guys do minimal larger than Ive heard. It feels familiar upon the first listen. Im Hooked.
Please let me know when you come to the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC. I'm still about an hour and a half away from there, but have found it to be well worth the trip every single time, and this venue would suit you guys so very well! If you've already performed there, please accept my apologies, but you were just recently brought to my attention - you folks are fantastic, and I look forward to hearing more from you for years to come!
You all are awesome! Just saw you for the first but not the last time in Redding, California. We are listening to you now on You Tube from Kauai! Can’t get enough of your tunes! Aloha
Best performance I've seen on UA-cam, had to share! Listen to Chevolet and had to think of old "Hey Gyp" by Donovan and covers of the Animals of "Can I Do It For You" by Memphis Minnie & Kansas Joe McCoy. It's amazing to see such talented people keeping American culture alive with this type of music. Utmost respect!!! Since the early 2000 time period I've been lucky to always have bands reviving that spirit hitting the mainstream so I don't have to dig so deep. First The White Stripes (early albums), then The Black Keys ( early albums), more recent is The Lumineers and Hoizer it's really cool, I'm not a huge music fan but I love hearing the soul in the songs. I hope these guys get rich ;-)
Must be seen. For the life of me I can't understand why they don't have a bigger following, but it's great that they can play the smaller venues, for now.
The third guy is named Jano Rix. He used to be the percussionist/backup vocalist/everything man for The Gabe Dixon Band. He's friggin amazing live. The sounds he can make with his shuitar (the guitar looking thing that he's holding in this first song) are pretty amazing. I've seen him playing drums with his left hand, keyboards with his right, all-the-while singing backup...
Thanx for the background on Jano! I met the 2 brothers at a very early gig of theirs in Bearsville (adjacent to Woodstock). Chris was semi-famous and big brother Oliver was a bit of an enigma….by the end of the show, everyone was kind of “don’t it figger” ! Some years later I see they added this third bloke - I was immediately skeptical (and prejudiced, tbh). It was a while before I finally actually heard the now-trio. O. M. F. G. Shut my mouth! 🫣🤯🤪 The more they play, the better it gets- truly infinite talent. We are so blessed!🙏
Saw these fine gentlemen at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC this past spring. One of the freshest sounds I've heard in quite a while. Love these boys. INSPIRING!
I found these dudes looking for Ain't No More Cane after seeing Rick Danko, Janis, and Garcia belt it out on Festival Express. While Danko/Janis/Garcia's version has a certain je ne sais quois that can never be touched, I have to say the Wood Brothers' version runs a tight second. And now this live set here just proves how good they are. Long live talent and pitch perfect vocal harmonizing.
What a treat, guys!! Thanks so much for doing this. I saw you in San Francisco last year and, maybe it was the mix, but it felt like there was a little more harmonizing in this video. It sounded soooo great! Also, I bet you guys are sick of playing the same songs over and over the same way, but it is in the nuances that we get the variation, beauty, and coolness. Elvis Costello and Billy Joel, for example, always vary their live sets too much and the songs lose the magic. Thanks a million!! A+
2nd band ive found today that i really dig, thanks to LIVESET!! thanks for sharing great bands i wouldnt hear otherwise. id love to do a set with you guys someday.
Oh yeah. Saw them the next day at the Tampa Bay stop. Holy crap they kicked so much ass. Their harmonies could cut diamonds. Do NOT miss a chance to see them live. This is a somewhat simplified version of their sound. TRUST ME..... GO GO GO.
If you don't like this after the third song, just stop watching. Then take some time to firgure out what is wrong with you & find a way to fix you're self.
this band is great, but fix your attitude
If you don't like after the first song fix that shit
It's fine. I made it one minute into song two. I am going back to MMW; sorry but we all different, appreciate that why dont'cha.
Hell yea 😂
This is incredible... and they're just 3 blokes jamming.... magnificent.
The Wood Brothers are something different. Incredible.
Ditto from another Matt M.! The harmonies starting at 7:47 during "Mary Anna" are so beautiful I can't believe it.
I just saw these guys tonight at the Parish in Austin. It was ridiculous. I don't even know what to say. Blown away would describe it.
IMHO this could be the most awesome 36 minutes of live organic acoustic music in modern times. :) So so sooooooo LOVE the Wood Brothers. That home made guitar drum is a piece of art and sounded great.
I've been playing this every day. I love it, the words, the music, these brothers are fantastic musicians. Want to hear more and more.
This may be the best 35 minutes on all of youtube.
This is the REAL DEAL!!!! You never hear this stuff on the radio. Awesome! Wonderful! LOOOOOVE it!
Their music ability is truly a gift from God.
God bless everyone who reads this. ✝️❤️
4:50 Mary Anna. Keep coming back for this recording of the song and never find it easily
Fucking solid gold version, better than studio, better than any other live version, and I've seen them play this live!!! This version reigns supreme....
It’s the best version I’ve heard for sure. Good ear
about three yrs ago these guys graced my ears......ain't been the same......many thanks friends
"You never heard a song so pure and true, it's flowing right out of his hands" .... beautiful.
I was at Mohegan Sun Casino with some friends and these guys were doing sound check for a free show in the Wolf's Den. Never heard of them, no idea who they were. Nope. Meriden, CT
I'm from Memphis
this was a hell of a show! Whish I could have been there. Musicianship serving pleasure and beauty. Can't ask for more except a very long life for the Wood Bros.
Well said. Seen them live several times. I suggest everyone do the same.
There will certainly be no quiet revolution, this band likely to make it big!
*watch?v=kFDMJa_fZt0*
Adore Them!
Go look at the video
No not really. Will go nowhere
Fantastic music. Such a great blend of blues and folk and a dozen other things besides. Great, supportive playing from everyone. And, as a bassist, its always a pleasure to hear Chris Wood, especially on the upright.
I love what you guys are doing! These jams are pure soul!
+vince newton I just saw them last week...I wanted to shake his hand just to see what kind of calluses that cat has. AMAZING bass chops!
I think I've listened to this once a week since I found it. great shit
Just saw these guys at DelFest this past weekend, for the second time. Truly moves me....
Fantastic sound and creativity from bass and percussion! I love this!
I found the Wood Brothers a week ago. I'm now a dedicated fan. Thanks a lot y'all!
The coolest bass I've heard in ages. Harmonies to kill and a great sound altogether... I want!!!!
I cannot get enough of this set. They blow me away!
I have seen like over 30 mmw shows never seen Chris play this bass new very nice
Thank you, The Woods Brothers warmed our Wisconsin garage!
As it has graced my Wisconsin garage since I found them as well. : )
Holyfreakinshirt- I am becoming relatively obsessed... THANKS for coming to Eugene! GREAT show!
you just never know when you're gonna find some cool shit on youtube. here it is...
I agree

I don't know why or how I just stumbled across this group, but you guys rock!! Glad I found this video
I realised I’ve got a few of their songs on various playlists, didn’t even realise when I found them earlier today and omg just perfect
One of the most refreshing, talented and love on the stage....band I have seen in a long long time...Before I die I am gonna open for them...On my bucket list lol

Very cool and Funky!

Orange Peel has the best sound I've heard at a venue.
Just discovered these blokes - wonderful.... what a voice, and what a bassist!
You all are awesome! Just saw you for the first but not the last time in Redding, California. We are listening to you now on You Tube from Kauai! Can’t get enough of your tunes! Aloha
incredible musicianship. great grooves, story tellin' and a classic voice. love this.
these guys kicked ass at the Sunshine Blues Festival in Boca Raton, FLA yesterday.....we stood mesmerized, in the pouring rain, lovin' the set!!!!
That's me entertained for the night! I was Looking for Up Above my Head. Found these guys. Brill.xxxx
This is absolutely wonderful!!!
