Great to see one of your videos Spen. Got to admit I cringed when you ran your finger inside that nut. I was once chatting to someone who had a 22mm push fit plumbing fitting in his hands, he was playing with it whilst chatting and stuck his finger in there. A but different to the nut as it had some sharp teeth inside to grip the pipe and not let go which it didn’t of course. Before I could say stop he tried twisting it off. Needless to say it was rather sore finger for a while afterwards.

Having had one or two whoopsies in my time I am somewhat careful where I stick my fingers 🤣😂

Kind curious how you like your Lathe/Mill/Drill.
I wanted one all through high school and finally got one of the biggest turds Smithy ever made, very disappointed!!!
    Almost nothing worked properly!
Without the planetary sheave it turned so fast that you were limited to 1-11/2” in the lathe (which I couldn’t afford) The leadscrew thrust bushing kept pushing out, the mill clutch would never stay engaged, the cross slide casting was warped so bad I had to have it remachined, you couldn’t cut from the tailstock to the chuck, you alway lost 2” of travel with the way the compound was set up. It had metric leadscrews with imperial graduations so you lost .0005 with every mark.
Smithy was and still is supposed to be quality equipment.
All that being said I wish I still had it just to tinker with.

I did a vid about the lathe some time ago, basically it's alright for what I use it for and I check the accuracy on a regular basis. Sounds like you got a bad one though.

Yes, but it wouldn't due to being seized, it's now living in WD40 😁
