WE MADE IT!? KDKustoms Sunday Spring Bash. First Practice Day 2024

Honestly,
couldn’t have cut with weekend closer if I tried.
At 10:04pm on Saturday night (12 hours after drivers briefing), we rolled through the gates of Driftland. 10 minutes before they shut the gate for the night. And 14 hours after starting the travel to leave Uist (8:00am). To then go home to repack a bag, grab tyres, fuel, tools and jack. To then start the 165mile drive down the road.
The Sunday was all about seat time, and seat time is what we got.
Seriously starting to get dialled in with the car and getting a style to it. Managing to keep a good consistent line throughout most of the day which was my biggest goal.
Got through all the tyres we had that weren’t for the rain. I’ve now learned what works for me tyre wise. Bigger is better as it turns out 🤷🏻‍♂️.
Since the practice day, we’ve managed to made a deal with a good friend to swap my 15’s and 16’s for some wider 17” wheels for more tyre, being able to use max width in most local comps nowadays 🤟🏻. Which will hopefully get acquired before @officialcrimondraceway in 2 weeks.
I did manage to knock the tracking out a bit at some point; ended up needing 2 new gearbox mounts, fluids topped up, full nut and bolt check, new tow strap mount, and alignment readjusted. Went out of the way of purchasing a passenger bucket seat and harness. Maybe some spacers very shortly.
Overall, she came out pretty good. And is now completely dialled and ready to be taken off to next Sunday’s Drift Session thanks to Neil and the team over at @kdkustoms_battleseries.
