Hi Chris, the pastry you ate is a mexican sweet bread called concha (shell, sea shell) they make the stuff on top in different flavors like chocolate and vanilla and more, and no its not rude to dunk your concha in hot chocolate, that's the way to enjoy it!
I stayed there for 5 nights the last time I went to The Disneyland Resort! It is an outstanding place to stay! Very quiet. Very secure. Get Away Today booked it all for me gratis! I didn't have to call the hotel or anything! From my arrival to my departure the staff were delightful and had everything all set for me! It's all very professional, yet casual and easy going! The view is just like you showed it but much closer with the naked eye! A nice short walk to the Harbor entrance into the Esplanade! I can't wait to stay there again! Thanks for showing this and reminding me! 💙💚💙💚
@michaelsullivan3581 love to hear this. I want quiet and secure. I felt the same at the Westin so I think these two Marriot Bonvoy properties are definitely catering to a nice but not stuffy beautiful experience.
You and Amanda are the best. All the places you've visited and Amanda is genuinely so excited visiting each and every one of them. Great parents too!!.
Thanks for making this, I definitely used my intuitive powers to book this for December and couldn't find any quality videos of it and you proved me right! Can't wait. You def sold me on the Westin too! THANKS!!
Chris, that dessert bread is a dessert (or breakfast). It's Mexican bread called Concha. With all Mexican sweet bread....dip! Dip! In coco or coffee. 😊
The bread is called Pan Dulce (it’s sweet bread and there are different variations ) that particular bread is called “Concha”you can drink Champurrado with the bread ( it is a type of hot chocolate).
You must have read my mind: it's one of the new hotels for my work group overnight stays....my first stay is coming up and now I can be the smartie pants of my group!
We will be staying there November 5th-9th! So excited. ONE question? Are there stairs that go up to your room? I'm very claustrophobic and won't do elevators
I’m with Amanda, lemon ricotta pancakes are everything. We make them for Christmas morning, they are that special. I like mine with just a dab of butter.
Pan Dulce!!! Concha!!! Those are Mexican pastries. They are the very best, you need to find a Panaderia near you and try a big pink cookie. You can dip in coffee or milk. What a wonderful hotel. Thank you for the walkthrough guys. 😁
Oooo...stayed there too. A bit on the pricey side but really comfortable. The walk to Disney isn't terrible either. If you have the finances, I say stay. Valet only though. You could park in the garden walk parking structure, unless that rule has changed. My husband HATEs valet.
The Marriott is great. I’ve had some friends stay there so I’ve dropped by to visit. I had a rare day off today so I walked to the park and finally got to ride M&M RR. SO much fun! I was between Lunch & Dinner but I DID go to Tiana’s to get the strawberry beignet. Worth the price of admission! The buffet at the hotel looked great! I’ll admit that when I do decide to go out for breakfast I hit the Roscoe’s on Harbor that’s just a block away. The grits rock! Love you guys and love getting to see more content. Take care!
What about parking? I was going to book here but it looks like you have to park at GardenWalk for 30/day and there are no in/out privileges. The only other option is valet for 65/day.
@parkpass we have a question about a hat we've seen Amanda wear thats Disneyland Paris, where did you guys get that? We were there a year ago and could only find YOUTH size hats and, ball caps are my husband's souvenir of choice. I keep an eye on eBay, but havn't found anything he likes, but he does like the one Amanda is wearing, LMK thanks!
I stayed over a week at our Regency Marriott in Omaha when I was moving here, It blizzard snowed, I was locked out of my new apartment complex due to the leasing agent not checking my keys and I ended up getting several free breakfast buffets due to the staff being so sweet about the moving insanity I was going through. Everything I had was delicious. I was lucky I had the Marriott to stay at, they even had room service and delivered my chocolate martinis and Philly steak sandwiches,I also had breakfast including the pastries delivered too, extra pillows to my room best sleep i loved my stay. Definitely dip the conchas in hot chocolate! if you find a Mexican bakery they will have them. hi amanda, if you ever find a Le Peep at your travels they have amazing lemon ricotta pancakes. Guava is amazing!
Started at that hotel once. My friends brother worked for The Marriott. He got us a fantastic deal. We had the pent house suite. Fir believe our not.... 15.00 a night. I so know this room was way out of my league. Lol. But I did love staying there. ❤
We stayed there for 4 nights. We did like it. A lot. But there was 2 issues for a hotel of that caliber that we were surprised at. 1. We were followed by security multiple times coming and going. Like we didn’t look like we belonged. Outside, in the lobby and just walking the hotel. 2. When checking out, they had a $75.00 lobby bar tab on our room’s bill. We never stepped foot into that bar nor did they have a signed receipt for our tab. When we refused that charge, the manager questioned it. I demanded to see video or a receipt and signature. They couldn’t provide that so he took it off the total bill. I thought for being a J.W., that was really low level for them. It is a nice hotel. I’m not sure I’d stay there again for that price point. I’d stay at the Hilton or Marriott on Hotel/Convention Way before we’d ever go back to the J.W. It was cheaper, closer and NOBODY hassled us EVER. We’ve stayed at both multiple times. Loved it.
Agreed with previous comment. My wife dips it in Mexican grandma hot chocolate milk during Xmas. taste different then American chocolate milk. Some times they fill them with milk cream ( the foam part of milk when they boil it it).
Manners questions should be submitted to the podcasters “Were You Raised by Wolves”. They are so great and would have the answer to dunk or not to dunk. I think it would be not to dunk, but I would totally do a stealthy dunk. 😂
Hello Chris.A great review. I have a request.I am a Canadian on a tight budget.I would love for you to review some of the cheapest motels in Anaheim.(We have to pay in U.S.funds ;hence the tight budget.( We are not really fussy,we just want a place to sleep because we wont be in the room much.Thank you so much!We love your channel.🇨🇦
The bigger restaurants seem to do well - Cheesecake Factory and PF Chang’s. Also, they get some money from the people who just park there, and walk to Disneyland. It might not be much, but maybe it adds up.
I'm a fan, but I gotta say the prices for your apparel is extremely high. You are literally charging Disneyland prices, pricing out the middle class fans for sure!
I've often wondered when people started referring to Disneyland as just Disney or other Disney entities, or properties as Disney into one basket, and to be quite honest, I absolutely 100% hate all of that, if you're going to Disneyland. That's Disneyland if you're going to Walt Disney World, that's Walt Disney World, Paris, Tokyo etc, it's not disney. All those places have tile and should be given proper titles? I just don't understand when everything got blanketed into the word Disney. Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom is called that for a reason. Not just Disney, loved the video. I've been interested in this property for some time. And I hope you and Amanda do something cool, for Disneyland 70th anniversary!
26/10/2024. Last night like previous nights throughout the year was woke early hours from a trolley full of nappies being pushed through a narrow hollow passageway floor that sounds like a concord taking off and with the immigrates talking loud yet with a huge noises of hollow doors slamming because the building is totally hollow as like a ghosts streak with the quietness of the ongoing screaming mentally ill that is faded so far away keep me awake most early hours of the mornings. I hope that I will be successful in shutting down Cwm Careref Care Home for the amount of nappies is required to use nightly 4, the psychology of this they cannot understand that I have all the bullets…
For a Marriott this is a nice place. But this shows the classic Ginsler style designs for hotels. It looks just like the new designs for all the corporate disney hotels and refurbs now. Nothing special. No story told. Just sterile and cold. Nice , presentable, but no sense of place or uniqueness. Like you used to get with a Disney hotel/resort. Or for that matter the special hotels that once you stay there you can remember details about it for the rest of your life. Glad that you were able to take Amanda there. It's too expensive for me. Especially since when I used to go to DL, it was just a place to sleep. The important things for us were, closeness to the park, decent and clean, decent price and was it a "good neighbor" place. The only time when I spent more was to keep a promise to my daughter that we'd stay at least once in all the DL hotels, so she could experience them if only for a few nights.

lol, there a staple in every Mexican home. I like to dip mine in my coffee. My niece dips hers in chocolate milk. So glad you enjoyed it 😊
That is the only hotel I have stayed at in Anaheim. Love that place. The garden is so relaxing before and after a crazy fun day at Disney

The right way to eat Pan Dulce is to have the Concha the way you want it. I like mine with coffee. I don’t dunk but I wouldn’t fault you for doing so.
I agree, dipping it is a game changer. I've tried it both ways now!
So excited to see this review! Thanks!
You’re welcome! 😄
Lovely hotel! Glad you all had a great time! ❤
I see someone already explained the round sweetbread is a Mexican pastry. Called concha 😀 you should have Mexican hot chocolate or coffee.
Lemon Ricotta pancakes with a side of popcorn for Amanda!😂
