This was my first NBA game, my introduction to the NBA, the only players I really knew were Kobe and Shaq because they were the biggest sports stars at the time, RIP Kobe.
That’s who I first started knowing! Plus Vince Carter of course. But found out I loved playing w Steve nash on the mavericks. Dude could dribble pass and shoot like trae young but better overall
Also I had Shawn Bradley or Yao Ming as center on my teams. Bradley was 7’6 and Yao was like 7’3/4”

The brain is an amazing thing, the way it just stores so many memories you never use. I don't think about any of these memories of this game yet watching this game I remember every single play, comment, move, graphic etc.
And it’s also funny because when you speak about your brain, it’s your brain talking about it’s own self
NBA Live was THE basketball franchise for so long, it's still wild to me how much and how quickly it got trounced by 2K.

First played this in 2011. This game was my childhood to me, and I still have it!
Stojakovic along with Dirk are the 2 cheatcodes in this game. That's why Kings and Mavs are banned when played with my friends 20 some years ago. Man that makes me feel real old.
NBA Live 2003, 04, 05 - 06 are the only 4 great basketball games that i currently still have & own them on the Nintendo Wii / gamecube compatible after many years ago plus you just can't go wrong & can't beat the classics!!!

Picked it up at a thrift store in my town for 3 dollars, and when I went to play it I kept on throwing up these wicked ass floaters from 3 but I eventually paid attention to the loading screen. Still tho I thought it was funny to see dude doing the same shit 💀

You can tell technology wasn't quite at the point where the AI could properly judge whether a shot was contested or not. Really makes me appreciate the current 2K
2K doesnt consistently do that now. Be missing shots in the green all the time lol

2021 and I'm about to play this game for the first time. I loved NBA Live on Sega Genesis, and that was the last one I played. Excited to see how this game is. Will be my first NBA game in decades.

This is the best Live game if you wish to play the greatest NBA players of the 2000s era all in their prime! Kobe, Shaq, KG, Timmy, AI, Vinsanity, TMac, Dirk, Big Ben, C-Webb, Pierce, Kidd, Francis, etc. and of course the rookies LeBron, Dwade, Melo, Bosh 😁

my pops would make me look up the current rosters at school. He would be like:
“Write down the names of all the new players you see and write down their stats”
I would do like 6 teams a day.
If they were new players, we would create them and make up stats but keep it average like 77-82.
Bwoi imagine if we did that now 😂 that would be crazy! But not bad either cause these 2k games suck now

One of the first video games I ever played. I have the GameCube version. Still have my original copy. Something I did with this game was to mess with the rosters so that they’d come as close to the actual final rosters from that season, since online roster updates didn’t exist then. You can get pretty close with the players available.
