As we all know there are some stocks that you can trade premarket and afterhour , but not all. Let’s consider a stock that you can’t trade premarket . You can anyway place a “pending orders” and here comes the question. If I have a stock that is trading at (for example) 100 $ per share in the premarket but trading 212 doesn’t allow you to trade that stock in that moment and you place a pending order to buy one stock at100$, then the premarket continue the stock reach 102$ per share and the market open and the stock is at 110$ . Your pending order will be filled at the price you placed your order so at 100$ and you are already gaining those 10$ as the stock it’s now at 110$ or it will not consider at all the time of that order that you placed as pending and will be just filled at 110$ ? Great vid Connor. I would just emphasize again, if buying a large position, be very mindful of the volume and spread. If the move goes against you, sometimes it can be difficult stopping out of your large position on TOS if there's obviously not a lot of buying and the bid is far from the ask.

I have 2 laptops and 3 ipads on my bed and most of the time I just use one ipad on think or swim and you dont have to put tif on an order you just have to click ext gtc,but still waiti g in line as the price goes up really sucks and visa versa.great video

Have you tried Speed Trader or Lightspeed yet? After I dumped TDAmeritrade it's been an amazing experience. The ability to route through different exchanges is huge and it's so much easier to get speedy executions during the first 5 to 15 minutes of the day.
Been using this technique however no luck in today’s Premarket. It’s worked before and I have an open GTC/EXT order sitting open over an 40 minutes now.

I have been corresponding with TD Ameritrade over this for weeks and they have tried their best and been fantastic to deal with but either their system cant scan or i have my settings wrong as I often get no results even during market hours with their scanner using all their suggestions, so somethings not right - I think I must be still missing some information..... I am thinking there must be a way to scan pre market consistently. so if I want to bid at 278.98 or 278.99 is there not a hotkey configuration I can make to place an order at highest bid +1c or similar? I want to slam the pre-market stocks that are fast moving and it seems very difficult to type in fast enough????

So in theory if you put the bid too low for their liking, they wouldn't match you at all with anything because they like the "last bought" to be at the price they want? If you put it too close, to theirs then they would buy/sell what they want first.

They haven’t fixed the issues. I heard it is still laggy. I think this week the whole system was down for a couple of hours for desktop and mobile. A lot of people were in positions they couldn't get out of. It really is irresponsible to promote them right now, which is a little disappointing coming from Conner.

You should clarify order types. GTC is not good till close on Think or Swim, it is GOOD TILL CANCLED...A VERY DANGEROUS ORDER FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE IT. A market maker has no obligation to provide liquidity for a Good Till Canceled order, or after hours, exto,premarket etc, only during open market hours is he required to facilitate intraday liquidity. He can hold a GTC until he feels like it's time to fill, if he can profit from it, if not you'll likely not get a fill, but if you are trading with the MM for liquidity he will fill it and take your money every time, that's what I did when I was on that side of the desk.
