The most important thing is you read the contact thoroughly. By not showing up one or more days has a negativity effect on the vendor and organizer. But the venue is a really cute idea. Even though you work a full-time job, it is important to make sure you have ample inventory. If you have a dollar amount goal for each market make sure you have a percentage above that as a cushion. You are doing a great job.
She clearly said her crochet business IS her full time job. She most likely works 7 days a week, much as I do. How do you expect her to stock more than that?
sometimes you can change the items you make to end up stocking more :) e.g. making 3 small items in the time it takes you to make 1 big one, so you have more stock and more options for people to purchase :) thats not to say big items dont do well, but often its just a case of balance. its totally difficult to predict though because from one market to another different things may do better than others, but i think thats why its very important to write down every single sale you make so you can analyse it for future markets :)
That was an amazing market. The private cabin was so cute. You did so well almost completely selling out. Lots of crocheting for you now. I can understand why the organizers penalize vendors as they need all businesses operating each day. It looks bad for them when someone is not open. The deposit seems like a bit too harsh a penalty but…
"Don't forget your mimosa, that's important!" I think we need a t-shirt Vivian😂 This was the most fun customer interactions I've seen this year. A shame you couldn't make the Fri. You have to take care of yourself (and others if you did end up sick) but I do understand the deposit policy. What resort was this I think I missed that? Those cabins were the cutest and I think I want to go here with husband next year. We are in Ontario. Merry Christmas and continued success in 2024.
I don't think she should have kept the deposit especially because it was due to sickness but I do understand their insistence that the booths are maned all the time for the event because it doesn't look good with empty ones. They are so beautiful what a lovely place to shop at
They keep the deposit because they’re holding the spot for you when they could’ve had another vendor take that spot. It really does suck being the vendor on this end and missing due to sickness but you do sign a contract and it should specify this in the contract.
That doesn’t make sense since she also paid a daily booth fee and so they were covered for the potential money from another vendor. The deposit is likely to cover any potential damages to the chalet so it should be separate.
Lovely video, you are so cute! I live in Serbia and I sell scrunchies, educational felt toys and handmade felt keychains... Over here it is actually quite common to pay a booth fee and if you do not show up or even if you are late or go home earlier than you are supposed to, you get to pay a fine and you probably you could never apply to that market ever again. It's crazy, I know. But we are used to it, I guess.
This was awesome. It was like I got to hangout out with you in your chalet and help you run it lol. I just simply adore you! Thanks for documenting and sharing this with us. I know how much extra effort it takes bc I feel like all I can do is just get through my market, I’ve attempted to document it but I get overwhelmed! Then time spent editing is precious crochet time! Lol looking forward to your next video! ❤❤❤❤
The reason why you were charged is because your booth being closed affects other vendors. If half the vendors decide not to show people coming (esp. if they paid entry) it creates a negative overall impression. A lot of these markets rely on word of mouth and people returning year on year. It is a harsh fine, but I can get why it exsists.
if only there were someone who could step in for a day to help during a longer market like that. it would use some of the deposit, but you would still have sales.
I have a few questions. Where did you get your stands that are in the back? Also, the brown adoption boxes with the windows? Where did u get those also? Way cute.
Hi! I have a market in November and I need some advice for what people buy since it is a Christmas market I’m unsure if I should bring more general plushies or Christmas plushies.
@@Senneirda1970wow that’s cool! Thanks. I’m not ready now since I’m still kind of like a beginner artist but one day God willing I will do that market
@@ivi122 I am pretty new too but I am doing one day this year - the Buffalo Winter Market runs for about 4 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. They changed the location this year and it is at what is called the Richardson Complex, a massive former psychiatric asylum that is now a boutique hotel. It’s going to be very cool!
Taking the deposit is kinda sad tbh! You already paid for the stall for that day and you brought them heaps of customers the other days whereas other stalls might not have brought any attention with them any of the days
You lose your deposit because they could have had a different vendor in that spot for that day and still made the money. I didn't like the idea when I first started doing markets but now I understand 😊 what a cool idea for a market though! Giving your vendors a closed in space to keep their items!!
Girl I’m gonna be honest, it’s a bit weird you filming and posting customers (on a monetized video no less). If I were one of those customers I’d be very upset
@@katelin98did you not watch the video? Tons of faces were shown, and while I have no clue if she asked for permission to film or not, I agree with the og comment that if I saw me or my family members faces online without me knowing I’d be pretty upset as well
My hubby was in a motorcycle accident. He was in life support for weeks and I had to cancel like 6 future market only one person wasn’t understanding and didn’t give me a refund. My hubby is at home now recovering ❤️🩹 It sucks that we loose money if we aren’t able to attend due to illness or family emergencies. Every market I have done says no refunds under any circumstances which sucks because we plan markets months in advance.

I have held down a job and have done craft shows in the past. So, I am fully well aware what a seven-day work week is truly like.

Wow!!!! I wish so many more venues had built individual shop like that! It’s so welcoming and nice and it would make me love doing markets even more.
That packaging is SO cute! What an adorable idea! Congrats on the great market, weird penalty aside.
You have the coolest packaging for your plushies. The kids as well as the parents loved them. Good job.
That is SUCH a cute market set up omg! My dream booth!

I understand that too. Just hope they have nicer policies to vendor. Cuz I barely made $100 on the first day - and there goes the deposit.
i love this so much thank you for taking us with your journey!!
1:14 I am so excited for you!! I bet it would be a dream if you opened your very own store one day 😊
That’s such a cool venue!! Congrats on a successful market!
This was the most adorable video, watching you interact with the patrons, talking about your struggles, even showing the Claus' was great!
This is so cute 🤩
where do you get your "Adoption Boxes" at? Those are so adorable and it seemed like the customers really liked them!

Awesome display and products. Where do you get your packaging from? The bags and clear plastic containers? I am in Georgia.

Does someone know where is located that place?
Buffalo, NY
